Longwei and the Red Cloud City

The sky was pitch black, and the stars in the sky were nonexistent.

The banquet threw by Alfred's father at the City Lord's mansion backyard continued into late at night. After the banquet was over, Jin Shang and his wife took the baby Alfred to his room.

On the way, Alfred lazily opened his eyes and saw the dark clouds stretched over the sky, giving it a hazy ominous feel.

The banquet was very fascinating. Everything was completely different from Earth, the performances, the musicians and the beautiful dancers with half of their body almost naked had filled the City Lord mansion's backyard.

Even though everything was new to Alfred, it was still a wonderful experience. However, an hour after the banquet he had fallen asleep despite doing his best to stay awake and order not miss this beautiful sight, especially the female dancers. As such he had no recollection of how the banquet ended.

" Honey, don't you think something is wrong with our son. he hasn't cried at all while we were in the banquet and his eyes were wandering everywhere, especially when the female dancers came to perform. Plus he looked too clam for a newborn baby." Said Alfred's mother while she slightly furrowed her brows.

" Hahaha, of course, my son is different from the others. Don't you get it, he is a real man that doesn't cry even while being still a baby. He is a genius." Said, Jin Shang, as he was laughing like a madman.

Today was like the best day of Jin Shang's life. he looked so cheerful and happy after his wife had given birth to their first baby. Not only, all his imposing appearance and domineering attitude have gone while he was looking at the baby. It hard to believe that the intimidating City Lord of Red Cloud City had such a childish side when it comes to his son.

' It seems like our son has woken up, look, his eyes are wide open." Said, Jin Shang, as he was gently caressing the baby's face.

" My poor baby did daddy woke you up with his stupid laughter." Said Alfred's mother, while she was shaking him in an attempt to make him fall back asleep.

" I asked you about that when I was pregnant but you wanted to wait until I gave birth to see whether the baby was a boy or a girl. Now that he's been born, and he is also a boy, do you have any suitable name for him." Said Alfred's mother while looking at his husband with her eyes filled with curiosity and expectations.

" Well, to tell you the truth, I haven't thought about. I spent most of the time worrying about whether our first child will be a boy or a girl that I completely forgot about coming up with a name."

" It must have been very hard on you Biyu, I think it would be fair if you name him instead." Said, Jin Shang, with an apologetic look on his face. He was so preoccupied with the continuation of his family reign in Red Cloud City which he had worked so hard to build that he preferred to have a successor rather than just any child. Having a son means that his family lineage will continue to rule over Red Cloud City as his son will become the next City Lord and so on.

" It's ok honey, I don't blame you for that. I know how important it is for you to have a son. Let's hope that he will meet your expectations when he grows up. As for his name, it will Longwei. I hope that my son will be a dragon among men in this chaotic land. Only by being strong and powerful enough that our son will be able to live a good and long life. You are the city lord of Red Cloud city, one of the three big cities in the surrounding area, all eyes are on you and now our son has become a target as well." She said in a sad voice while slightly rubbing the baby's face.

It must have been hard for a mother to wish for his newborn baby to live a life in battle to strengthen himself rather than living a peaceful life such as on a farm with a nice family. However, circumstances made her think differently as she only wishes for his son to have enough power to survive and live long enough in this harsh and barbaric world.

"Don't worry honey, our son will bring forth a new Era. I have a feeling that he will change everything. Longwei is a fitting name, you have a very good taste at naming people. Anyway, let's hope that we will live long enough to witness his greatness." Jun Shang said with an expression of certainty on his face.

Biyu seemed to be confused about his husband's high praise of his son. Even though she really wanted for his son to do great things in life, but she didn't exaggerate that much and go as far as saying that his son will bring forth a new Era. Although it would have been great if it was true.

However, what Biyu did not know was that her husband. had a reason for saying that. When he infused some of his energy within his son's body to check his constitution, something unexpected happened. When his energy entered his son's body, a burst of vigorous powerful energy, a thousand time stronger than his own energy sucked in the energy he infused in his son abdomen. This energy seemed so divine like it was the origin of all energies and the origin of life itself. As such, before his wife even asked him to stop, he had already done that because it felt like all of his energy was going to be swallowed by that strong suction force within his son's body. the energy seemed to be in its weak state, but the suction force was powerful enough to devour all his energy within him dry if he had continued checking on his son's body constitution.

Red Cloud city is situated close to the magical beast forest which was why they often experienced beasts tide. The people here struggle for survival day and night, which is why the city lord built a fifteen meters wall manufactured from a special material to secure the residents within the city. The city isn't too big and has a population of 400 000 people. The living conditions in the city were quite good. The taxes weren't too high, business was flourishing, and the security was very tight.

The city has an army strong enough to keep the city safe in case of normal beast tides, but not all, because of there some strong magical beasts that were powerful enough to lay the lay waste a city such as Red Cloud in a breath time.

Most residents in the city practiced martial arts, and they possessed an exceptionally strong and sturdy physique. Aside from the danger of magical beasts, the Civil war was one of the danger as well. The intricacies hidden within the city are very deep, as other influences within the city were plotting to take over the city and become the new overlord.

Not only there were dangers within, the surrounding cities such as Black Mist city and Green Leaf city, which are the other two biggest cities in the northern area were eyeing one another. Their power wasn't the least bit weaker than Red Cloud.

Black Mist city was located approximately 40 kilometers away from Red Cloud while Green Leah was 50 kilometers to the other side. in another word, Red Cloud was in the middle of two big cities. As for the other small cities, they either pledge allegiances to the nearest medium cities or big city.

The entire city lord mansion became amazed as they witnessed the abnormality of the city lord's son. The first young master, who was born about a year, was very different from any other child throughout the whole city.

Three months after his birth, he started to talk which freaked out the whole city lord mansion's personals as well as the guards. According to the maid who was taking care of him at that time while his mother went out with his father, his first words were." you forgot to wash peepee." he said when the maid was showering him which scared the shit out of her at that time.

Five months later, he started to walk which gave the maid a headache as he was always hiding where nobody could find him or even sneak out of the mansion. What shocked everyone the most was a year after his birth, he would swing a small wood stick at the guard like he was holding a sword for practice, sometimes he lifted small rocks and ran around the mansion like he was trying to strengthen his small body.

the most interesting was, he sometimes tied some heavy object around his boy and tried to run like he was jogging. after witnessing the peculiarity of the first young master, the maids, as well as the guards, didn't get surprised anymore as it was a usual thing for them to see the young master practicing his sword swing with a wooden stick or try to lift a heavy object.

" Huff." Longwei took a deep breath as he felt a stream of energy flowed throughout his body and the strength returned to his tired arms.

He clearly felt some slight improvement of the way he swung his sword. he could feel that each swing of his swords started to make a clear trajectory. he had spent more than three months swinging his swords like a maniac, he even started to get discouraged until now that the dam system decided he was good enough to raise it to primary level. Aside from that, the system had imprinted the right way to swing his sword into his brain. Anyway, it was still early to call him a swordsman.

" It's time to check my status window," Longwei said in a low baby voice.

Looking at his new stats, Longwei could not believe that he still wasn't able to raise the level of his gamer's godship yet. He wanted to know so bad about the gamer's godship that he had trained like a madman without enjoying his leisurely baby's life, yet he had failed. Nonetheless, he still found the clue as to when it will be able to raise its level which was when he makes it to level 10. Every time he leveled up by one, the gamer's godship only raises by 10%.

" well, I think it's time to take things slow now until my body grows a little." he murmured to himself.

According to some information he was able to gather, there were magicians as well as warriors in this world. The warriors cultivate battle qi while magicians focus on mana. Warriors and magicians were divided by ranks. Both warriors and mages started from 1st rank till 10th rank. Each rank was divided into 3 sub-ranks such as initial, middle and late.

So far there hasn't been anybody in the Archaic continent that has broken through the 10th rank yet. Also, there was the 11th rank which was known as the Saint rank. breaking through the Saint rank was the first step to transcendence. It means receiving the blessing of heaven and earth. It was like an evolution from a mortal to a slightly higher life form.

His father was said to be a 7th rank middle stage fire magician. However, when he looks at him, he saw " level 65" on top of his head. From that, he had concluded that level 1 to 9 was equal to a 1st rank warrior or magician, level 10 to 19 was the 2nd rank and so forth. In another word, he was at the bottom of the food chain with his measly 1st rank early stage. As for the spiritual master in his states, he still has no information about it in this world yet.

" Damn, my head hurts just thinking about all those complicate stuff, It's better for me to sleep and start enjoying my baby life . there's no rush in level up now," Longwei said as he was rubbing his forehead with his tiny hand and was walking back towards his other's room.
