Alphar And Elize (1)

Elize POV

RECAP-

"How long do you plan on staying here?"

"Maybe two months?" he nodded.

"Well, you can train, however you want,"

"Oh, well... I was hoping...." I trailed off with a red hue on my face, "That we could train with each other," He snapped his head back, meeting my gaze. I flinched, his icy piercing gaze cutting right through me.

He sighed, "Fine, but only once a week," my face lit up at his consent.

"Thank you!" I grabbed his hands in mine, staring at him happily. He froze and pushed me back.

"I see why she was so upset about it now," he whispered

"What did you say?" I leaned closer to hear.

"Nothing,"

"Huff... Huff... Ha.." I panted, the veins on my arms bulged as I clenched my teeth while tugging two giant tree trunks in either hand. The skin of my palm already in shambles, a blood trail tailing behind me. Beads of sweat formed a pool underneath me and my clothes clung to me with an iron grip flooded in sweat and weighing a ton. "Ha...Ha.." I shifted my gaze to above the waterfall where Alphar sat holding a slab of wood and carving it with a dagger.

Filled with a burst of determination and energy, I tightened my grip on the vine tied around the trunk and towed the two trunks behind me. Just as I reached the lake I hauled the trunks up taking a deep breath and swinging them around in a circle.

I kept swinging until I got dizzy and the world started spinning. Once I worked up enough speed, I relaxed my hold on the vine, sending the trunks flying in the other direction. Silence fell, I turned to look at Alphar and as I did a resounding boom echoed from where I threw the trunks and a cloud of dust bloomed from the ground dispersing in the air creating a murky wave of grey dust. "Ha... I think I threw them farther than last time," I narrowed my eyes, looking at the plume of dust. I nodded in satisfaction and ran towards the lake, my legs heavy and numb.

I dived into the water, closing my eyes as the water engulfed me from all sides. The freezing cold water blew away all my tiredness and stuffed me with energy. I burst from the surface, shaking my hair dry, a smile plastered on my face. I glanced to Alphar, who was still preoccupied with his carving to even notice when I jumped into the water.

It was always like this he would listen when I asked and talk when needed, but he never talked unnecessarily nor did he ever try to make small talk. Most of the time he just went hunting, cooked, and then sit on the ledge of the waterfall all day staring off into space or carving the wooden slab. I pouted and swam to the side of the lake and climbed the side to the ledge. Alphar didn't flinch, engrossed in the carving, turning it side to side then scraping a piece off with the knife. It was still too early to make out just what he was carving.

I sneaked up behind him and just as I was a few steps from him; I grabbed him by the neck and lunged down the ledge into the lake, Alphar looked back to meet my gaze, confusion written on his face; but it was too late. We crashed into the lake, a thunderous splash reverberating through the air.

I had no idea what to name this chapter. Hope you enjoyed and have a lovely day/night.
