The Fine Line

Noubunga was sat in his room. He was creating a new war plan for the Oda Forces. You see, many people still hated him.

For many people he was still on their bad side.

Noubunga Oda. A cold and ice eyed warlord leader. No heart. No sorrow. No love. That's what people said about him. That's what the world thought about him. But that wasn't true.

It was a cover. He was nothing like his enemies assumed he was. If they knew that, he was sure he probably wouldn't even have any anymore.

He just struggled to open up to people. To cover that up he acted cold. But if people were to see who he really was, he'd lose his followers, but he'd lose his enemies too.

In reality. Noubunga was a sweetheart. Only his closest friends knew that. The fastest way to the warlords heart, was sweets and treats.

Underneath the mask he was much softer than he let on.

He pouted while in his room. He was hungry from all this planning. And tired. Maybe he'd head to the springs for a bit. Try and clear his mind of these thoughts of, what if.

He stood up and closed the book he was writing notes in, before sliding his door to the side and exiting his chambers, but not before taking a bath kimono.

On his walked he stopped by the kitchen, the lights were off and so he snuck inside.

He snuck over to the treats cabinet and opened it, to find nothing but a note.

'I knew you'd try to sneak in here Nobunaga. I told you. No sweets after 9.

Is what the note said and Nobunaga pouted. "No fair. I need sweets the help me concentrate." He huffed out snd crumpled up the bit of paper before heading out of the kitchen and to the springs.

When he arrived at the springs he undressed and slipped into the water, letting out a small sigh of relief at the warmth.

"I just don't know what I should do. Do I risk letting the world know who I truly am to save them all from the war, but lose everything I've worked hard for. Or don't. And watch as this place falls apart around me." He says with a sigh.

"Well well. That is quit a predicament Nobunaga." Someone says as they walk in and he looks up.

"Ah. Masumune. Can't sleep either?" He says and the other just nods, undressing and slipping into the water if the hot springs as well.

"Nobunaga. You should do, whatever's right. Most of us know you, so you won't lose us if you tell the world who you are. But I agree. Many of your followers will stop believing in you." He says and Nobunaga just sighs and nods.

"Look. I think for now you shouldn't worry. And if someone tried to assassinate you at night, and saw you like this, I think they'd figure out what they've heard about you wasn't true. People are your enemy because they're scared. They don't know, how cute you actually are." Masumune says as he moves over to Nobunaga who sighs again.

"I know. But I can't go through life until war hoping to get assassinated at night in the hopes that people would catch the real me. But I also can't go about and tell the world who I am because I'd lose my followers and my enemies might not believe it." He says as he looks down and lays his head on Masumune's chest who just chuckles and wraps his arms around Nobunaga.

"It's a big predicament you've got yourself into, isn't it? Whatever you decide on, we'll all support you. But for now. You need to focus on relaxing, and trying to rest. None of us need you unwell. We need you at your best. Whichever best that is that you decide to be." He says as he runs his hand through Nobunaga's hair.

"Well be here waiting for you." He says and kisses the others forehead.

Nobunaga smiles softly and nods. "Okay. I'll try to rest." He says in defeat.

After a while Nobunaga gets drowsy so Masumune carries him to his quarters.

He smiles as he looks over the other. "Nobunaga. I hope my words got through to you. I hope your war plan from tomorrow finds to be different than you originally planned." He says with a smile as he kisses the others forehead once again and exits the quarters, heading to his own.

The sun began shining through the window and Nobunaga gave a soft yawn and slowly opened his sleepy eyes.

As he awoke he looked around and gave a soft chuckle. Masumune must have brought him to bed. How thoughtful.

As he awoke himself properly he looked around and picked up his war plan book.

'New Plan:

We have us all go on a two week retreat to the mountain cabins. We take no army. Just ourselves.

We let the world know that we're going there.

We relax. We enjoy. We stop the war bit by bit.'

He finished and he placed the book onto his bed.

He then changed into a new kimono, something a little different from his usual style. Less black. More red with a few other colours, before picking up his war plan and heading to the meeting hall.
