Chapter 1Death

"Haa... finally,"

I muttered under my breath as I slumped into the narrow, worn seat of the economy class section, surrounded by a sea of strangers. My eyes, heavy with exhaustion, scanned the cramped cabin. The monotonous hum of conversations and the rustling of passengers settling in provided the backdrop for my racing thoughts.

"Excuse me, sir. Could you please stow your bag in the overhead compartment?" a flight attendant asked politely.

"Oh, sorry," I replied, hastily placing my carry-on bag in the compartment above.

The journey to this very moment had been nothing short of an arduous odyssey, one that had tested my limits and pushed me to the brink of despair. From countless sleepless nights spent studying for the gruelling entrance exams to the nerve-wracking day I had taken the test and then the euphoric relief of securing admission to a prestigious university, it had been a relentless, endless struggle.

But now, as I looked out of the small airplane window onto the tarmac of the bustling airport, all that stress and turmoil seemed like a distant memory. The plane was taxiing, preparing to take off on a course set for paradise: Hawaii. The promise of sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, and the warm embrace of the sun awaited me. Finally, a well-deserved vacation to escape the relentless demands of academia.

With my heart filled with anticipation and a sense of accomplishment, I settled into my seat. I reached for my phone, hoping to pass the time by diving into a novel I had downloaded for this very purpose.

"Please fasten your seatbelts. We will be taking off shortly," came the captain's voice over the intercom.

As the plane taxied toward the runway, I immersed myself in the words, seeking refuge from the humdrum of airport life and the cacophony of the cabin.

The novel gripped me from the very first sentence, and I was quickly drawn into its fictional world. The story unfolded with intricate characters and a plot that kept me hooked, chapter after chapter. It was a welcomed escape, a refuge from the pressures of the real world, a place where my thoughts could wander freely.

But as I turned the digital pages, nearing the climax, a sense of unease crept over me.

"What's going to happen next?" I wondered aloud, my voice lost amidst the airplane's ambient noise.

The plot had taken an unexpected turn, one that hinted at a bleak and ominous future. The world within the book was teetering on the edge of destruction, and the characters I had come to care for were facing insurmountable odds.

My grip on the phone tightened as I raced through the final chapters, my heart pounding in my chest.

The airplane experienced a sudden jolt, and I was shaken from my literary trance.

"Whoa!" a fellow passenger exclaimed as the turbulence rattled our seats.

I glanced around, concern evident on the faces of those nearby, but I couldn't be bothered. I was too engrossed in the world of the novel, too invested in the fate of its characters.

As the plane continued to bump and sway, my irritation grew.

"Can't they keep this thing steady?" I grumbled my voice laced with annoyance.

The turbulence was disrupting my reading, and I found myself grumbling aloud about the distasteful ending of the novel.

"How could the author do this?" I complained to myself aloud "It's just not fair to the characters or the readers!"

*crack*

*gasp*

The airplane experienced another, more violent shake, causing drinks to spill and passengers to gasp.

"What's happening?" someone cried out.

But I paid it no heed. I was too engrossed in my own frustrations. My fellow passengers shot me quizzical looks, but I brushed them off, my attention firmly fixed on the words before me.

Then, in the midst of my grumblings, my thoughts were abruptly severed, like a thread cut by a sharp blade.

*boooomm!!*

The plane's cabin was filled with a deafening roar, and I looked up in alarm.

"Wha—what's that sound?" I stammered, my voice quivering.

Panic washed over me as I took in the horrifying sight before me.

The wings of the aircraft were engulfed in flames.

"aaaaa!!!"

A scream echoed through the cabin, and it was as if time had stopped. The world outside the window was a hellish inferno, and the acrid smell of burning metal and fuel filled the air. The once-composed passengers were now frenzied, their voices a chaotic chorus of fear.

My mind raced, struggling to process the surreal nightmare unfolding before me. This couldn't be happening. Not now, not here.

"Is this real?" I muttered to no one in particular, my voice trembling.

I clung to my armrests, my knuckles white, my heart a thunderous drumbeat in my chest.

The plane began to descend, not in the controlled, graceful manner of a typical landing but in a harrowing plummet.

"Brace yourselves!" came the captain's frantic voice over the intercom.

Panic surged through me, and I clutched my seatbelt, praying for a miracle, for some semblance of hope.

As the seconds ticked away, my thoughts turned inward. Images of my family, my friends, and the dreams I had nurtured throughout my life flashed before me.

And then, as the ground loomed impossibly close, a calmness washed over me, an eerie acceptance of the inevitable. I thought,

"What a boring life it was..."

In that moment, faced with the end, I realized how ordinary my existence had been, how I had let routine and stress define my days.

*Crash!!*

*BOOM!!*

The impact was swift and brutal. Darkness enveloped me as the world shattered, and the last thought that crossed my mind before oblivion claimed me was that, perhaps, it was in these final moments that I had found an ending that was anything but boring.

Two millennia ago, a young boy named Emery met a tragic fate. In his final moments, he was transmigrated and accepted into the Universe's most prestigious school of magic. “You are among the chosen few from thousands of human worlds. Each year they returned to Earth to grow, seek revenge, save the princess, conquer the world, and become Earth's Greatest Magus. Their names are still etched in our history books to this day. Authors Note: I have always been fascinated by writing fantasy relating to historical facts. In this story, you will find characters inspired by real-world myth and legend. The universe I created hopefully will make the reader's imagination excited and logically plausible. I hope you enjoy it. ### Here are some key aspects you'll encounter: MC: The protagonist follows the classic weak-to-strong arc. World: Picture a blend of Harry Potter and Star Wars. System: While it's primarily a magic-based story, there's a structured system in place that's easy to follow. Additionally, elements of cultivation. Harem: No, there are several female interests. But I enjoy romance first. So even if there will be more than one love interest it will be deep. Note: English is not my first language, but you'll notice that my writing and English skills gradually improve throughout the chapters. Other: The novel delves into deep research on science and history, enriching the storyline with factual and intriguing details. Give it a read—you might be pleasantly surprised by what unfolds.
