The Beginning

"Daddy, what is that?" the little girl pointed one of her fingers at the incoming sea current, the current unlike other sea currents was boiling the waters around it, laying destruction to all aquatic lives on it's path, leaving different creatures dead on the sea in it's wake. It was warming up the ocean and rolling faster to the ship. The Captain of the ship looked in awe, a mystery, a strange phenomenon he has never experienced before in all his years as a ship captain, and he had lived a very long life as a Captain. According to the Captain, he had seen fairies and mermaids, but none gave him a terrifying chill in his spines as what is coming right to him on this Godforsaken Ship.

Others gathered at the edge of the Ship, staring in fear at the current wrecking havoc on the Sea.

"This is evil, we need to pray" said one of the fishermen, he spread out a cloth, dropped some cowries and began muttering some words out loud.

"Ignore him" said the Ship's captain.

The other merchants who were at the little town situated and built on top of the Sea also saw it coming, the roaring of the current was too loud to be unheard. Over the years, the little town of Owo has being known to be a center of commercialization within it's region. Different merchants travelled all over the world to market their goods and products to other merchants. Owo was a town always filled up with different people, a unique town of value, it's tax alone has made the Kingdom of Oyo richer than the other neighboring Kingdoms.

It has attracted different merchants of different guilds, different brothels and different private sectors over the years.

"Call the Mayor" shouted one of the town's council members.

The little errand boy ran and barged in into the shrine situated at the far end of the town on the Sea.

"Sir, the Mayor is requesting for you, he said it is urgent"

The ifa priest gathered up his instruments, he had seen it coming before in a vision, a vision he had and warned the Mayor about, and according to him, making sacrifices to appeal the gods was the only solution, but the Mayor threw him out like a dog into the street. According to the Mayor, he was a thief who wanted to take out of the town's treasury for his own pleasure.

The ifa priest walked in, two guards grabbing him in by the two sides of his arms, apparently the ifa priest attempted to flee the town before he was caught by the guards.

"Come, bring him here" the Mayor angrily raised his hand and slapped the priest on his face, "you brought it here and now you want to flee?" asked the Mayor.

No, you will stay and fix this, Priest or by the gods I swear my guards here will fix your face so bad that you will become a nightmare to the children's here.

The Priest spit out blood on the floor, apparently the Mayor had a firm hand than he looks. The Priest opened his mouth again, this time with better luck, he told the Mayor "I tried warning you, but you wouldn't listen to me, now it's here"

"Fix it" the Mayor said while his sword was on the priest neck. fix it now he shouted.

The Ifa Priest brought out a crystal ball, large and huge, he held it in his hands, he muttered some spells and the crystal ball shines brighter, the light emanating from the crystal filled up the room, then the ifa priest entered a trance

"It is here, He who will reign terror and fire

He shall brought destruction upon us all

end to us all

no, no, no, she's crying

the Queen of Heaven is crying for her beloved

her beloved will soon be no more,

oh great Serpent, the devourer of souls, the great and mighty Leviathan will soon be no more"

The priest choked, struggling for breath, he fell down and died immediately after the trance ended, then it began to rain hail and thunder strike on the Sea, burning everything it touches. The little town of Owo, a vast town filled with people was not spared from the thunderstrike and hail that was raining from Heaven.

The little town got burnt along with it's people in a fervent heat, some jumped into the Sea, but the sea was hotter than the burning woods of the town, their skin got burnt immediately, the ships began to caught fire and sink into the Sea, no life was spared on that day.

The Sea took all it could, with it's hot wave, burning every life around it, the hail and thunderstrike burning everything on the surface, The Mayor was on the Royal Ship, making an escape for his life, along with the other town council members and their bags of Gold.

"we need to go faster, dump the golds into the Sea" shouted one of the town council members

" No one touches my gold" said the Mayor. we will row faster, he declares, sir, we won't make it out aliv...The Mayor grabbed him, and pushed him down to the burning Sea before he could complete the statement.

shouts could be heard echoing from the seas, shouts of humans dying on the Sea.

Perhaps the Mayor Royal Ship could have made it out alive, maybe it's because it was a blessed ship, a gift from one of the mermaid of the Sea, a gift given to the town as a partnership between humans and mermaids on the open Sea. But no, destiny has another plan entirely for the Mayor, he had boasted already that the priest brought this upon them, that it was neither the work of the Queen of Heaven, nor a sea beast called Leviathan.

"Sir, we will make it..." before Chief Jegede could finish his statement, the water under their ship boiled and roared up, the Ship shook vehemently, suddenly, a beast emerged from beneath the Sea, the beast was long and large, with scales all over it's body, it looked like a dragon, eyes as huge as rock, breathing out fire, his tail cuts the Ship in two, nothing else could be done, they sank right on the spot.

The Mayor still struggling to stay afloat while it's skin was burning, he saw it, the reason the beast was wrecking havoc, no, the beast wasn't provoked, he was being attacked, right there before the Mayor died, he saw a creature, no, a man, clinging into one of the fangs of the Leviathan with a sword, the man was cutting off the Leviathan fangs, with a brute strength that can't be compared to that of any man. The Leviathan rolled his other fangs and it became a weapon, hitting the man so hard that the sound of the impact was causing the Sea to boil. The man then jumped with his sword in his right hand, he aimed for the Leviathans right eye, he didn't miss, he thrust in his sword into the Leviathans right eyes.

He saw it, the Mayor tried to shout for help, but it was too late, he burnt up on the Sea.

The Leviathan shouted and breathed out more fire, jumping back deep inside the Sea, the man didn't let go, he has clinged one of his sword deep into the Leviathans heart, breaking through his hard scales, he reached out his hands deep inside the wound, grabbed the Leviathans heart and cut it out with his bare hands.

The Leviathan cried out, the sea roared, it was the Leviathans last. The beast gave up and died at the bottom of the Sea.

The man swim up to the bank of the Sea, he lied helpless on the sands, he looked around as far as his eyes could take him, nothing remains of the ancient town of Owo, no one had survived the attack.

The man got up, ate the Leviathans heart, then dived back into the Sea, deep down to where the beast lied, he muttered a spell, and the sea roared, the beast got up, but now it obeys him alone. The Sea began to boil up and part ways, the Leviathan was racing with the speed of a demon king, the beast was racing as fast at it could, for the beast now has a new master, the man ride the beast deep within the Sea, he is riding the beast down to the gates of Hell.
