Chapter 70

How could it be that Susan knew what she was doing in life, when she was turning down somebody like him? Richard thought. He had heard her brag about having good taste in men and knowing the right man to choose as a father for her kids, yet she didn't think that he was the perfect option? With his good looks and wealth, she thought that there was any other man better than him? Richard wondered.

Susan could feel Richard judging her, but she could not afford to give a hoot presently. She felt that there were more important things to worry about than what Richard thought about her.

''Michael, will mummy abandon us because she has a man? Will we still be her children?'' Judy asked her elder twin brother.

''No. She will not leave us,' Michael assured his sister, Judy. ''We come first in mummy's heart,'' he added.

''Yes. Me first, then you and then that man,'' Judy echoed.

Susan and Richard heard what their kids said, and looked at them warily.
