The Alpha On Campus

Everyone has that one person who makes them uncomfortable. That guy when he walks in a room you can feel the energy shift. A constant string of different girls under his arm, never really caring about much of anyone but himself. Two years I spent avoiding him, making sure he never knew I even existed. Even though we’re apart of the pack, a few families like mine weren’t able to talk to our wolves. Not ranking in a society built on levels can really take it out of you, so being in the same room as them is nevertheless difficult.. Who knew that all of that avoiding would eventually bring me here to this moment. Striding towards me was that same guy, dripping blood on the floor as he walked. "Mate.." he said sliding out the chair on the other side of the table plopping down into it. His face had splattered blood all across it, causing his piercing emerald eyes to shine bright against the red. I wanted to run.

Return of the Mack

~Finn's POV~

I woke up to the sounds of people rushing about the hallway. It must be getting time for us to move out. I had barely slept with all of the chaos that was happening in the pack house. When I finally did, the dreams that came to me were of my father and Dali. I grunted as I adjusted myself on the springy mattress not wanting to get up just yet.

"Do you smell that?" Rainer asked excitedly.

Before I could even ask him what he meant I smelt her, and not the residual scent left on the bed, but her. Jumping up to my feet I ran out of the small room's door and sprinted after the new stronger aroma. The pack members in the hall parted as I ran down it like a mad man. If she was really here there was not a chance in h*ll I was going to miss seeing her. Since she's been gone getting her back safely was the only thought that had ran through my head, she was the only thing that mattered to me any more.

One wolf tried to swerve out of my path way a little to fast sending the contents of the tray he was carrying all over the floor. I barely muttered an apology as I sprinted past him to the kitchen doors. The smell was strongest inside, I hesitated only for a second not sure if this was just wishful thinking or if she could possibly be truly back safe. Not caring if I was going crazy I threw the doors open. Looking around the room all I could see was injured people.

My heart dropped into my stomach looking at them until I saw her dark brown eyes peeking up over a she-wolf's shoulder. Relief washed over me causing me to fall to my knees. She was here, she was home. She.. she was covered in blood. My heart sank even further at the sight. I could barely hear what she was saying as I asked her if she was okay. Only looking to Sam after she motioned over to him, I felt awful being so wrapped up in my own life I hadn't noticed my best friend shaking on the floor mumbling to himself.

She touched my face and the sparks that cascaded down my entire body proved to me that she was really back. She was safe now! I pulled back looking at her face once more, she looked tiered and like she was about to fall at any moment. Almost like my arm around her waist was the only thing holding her upright. Using my other hand I went to tuck a stray curl. Her hand flew up to stop me.

"I'm not sure if I want to show you this." she chuckled half heartedly and reluctantly moved the hair exposing her cropped ear. Her eyes fell looking at the floor looking embarrassed.

"I'll kill her." I growled, my anger rising as I looked at her and the surrounding wolves. All of their eyes looked up at me as soon as I let out the noise. "I promise all of you tonight she will die." my alpha tone came out more powerful than it ever had. It normally would make them bow or cower away but instead they nodded almost in unison around the once happy kitchen.

"Lets get her." Dali said smiling up at me. The face she was making was the same as the others, almost like they were proud of me. Or more like they believed I would fulfill this promise to them no matter what.

"You need rest mate." my alpha tone still deep in my tone.

"I think not," she huffed. "This is personal. I just need some food and like a small nap and I'll be good to go." my eyes went wide and I felt my jaw go slack. She just denied a direct demand from an alpha, that's not usually possible especially if its a mate.

"My oh my, what a feisty one. I almost forgot." Issac chuckled, as he and the other alphas entered the kitchen. All of them laughed a little at his joke.

"We were just coming to talk attack plan" Julian said looking at the room. "Our numbers are for sure lower, especially if they keep changing our people." he raked his hand through his short brown hair looking stressed.

"I think there is a solution for that." Dali said nodding over to Sam once more. "It seems the rouges are being created and controlled by Trista. However, when I spoke with the goddess she said she can fix it. We just have to lure them away from the hunters and as many as possible so it will work better." she breathed heavy, her mom rushed over to her holding a protein bar and a water.

"She.. she spoke with you?" Zane said his eyes wide in disbelief.

"I'll do it." her mom said quietly. "she'll come for me herself, in that time you can round up the rouges." Dali wrapped her arms around her, holding her there.

"No, you can't do that." she said weakly nuzzling into her mom's shoulder.

"This started with me and I'll end it. Who knows maybe I'll take her by surprise." her mom patted her shoulder and walked away.

Dali turned and watched her go, the tears rolling down her cheeks. I closed the little distance between us, wrapping my arm around her waist. My arm supporting her just in time before her knees gave out. I looked at all of the other alphas and then to my mate. Before tonight was over I would keep my promise. I guided Dali back to her old room, helping her into the pull out mattress.

"Wake me in a half hour." she smiled faintly, still covered in blood.

"Are you sure your okay?" I asked still worried she might disappear from in front of me again. She let out a faint mhm' before her eyes were closed and her breathing even.

"We're not really going to let her go, are we?" Rainer growled in protest to the idea.

"Its not like she will let us, she won't let her mom walk into danger like that." I turned off the light and closed the door softly behind me. Walking through the halls I head to the conference room to look over the map once more.

I threw open the doors to the room to see the table surrounded by different wolves. Alphas and their betas in full discussion. The warriors covered in bandages looking over the landscape for any possible routes in or out. In one corner I saw Dali's father listening to the conversations around him with his eyes closed. I walked over to him and leaned against the wall.

He opened one eye up briefly to look at me bowed his head. I could tell he was preparing himself for what might lay ahead. Crossing my arms I let out a sigh.

"I assume you will be joining your mate?" I kept my eyes locked on the warriors drawing out escape routes on the map with their fingers.

"Better to sweeten the bait." he laughed nervously. "I never would have thought someone would be capable of such destruction." his head fell into his hands slightly shaking.

"H*ll hath no fury like a woman scorned." I said in a whisper as I leaned over. "when this is all over I'd like to hear your side of this. There must have been a reason you kept her around." I straightened, giving my attention back over to the warriors who were circling the waterfalls as a possible plan.

"I shouldn't have. This is my punishment for not waiting for my mate." he raised his head and gave me a look with so much determination in his eyes. "I will make sure I protect her this time." he said getting up and placing a hand on my forearm. "Protect my baby as her mate. I will do the same with mine." with that he left the conference room.

"Young alpha, what do you think of this?" Issac said pointing to the waterfalls as well. "We draw the masses of the rouges to this location. If we jump the falls our scent will trail off." he draws a funnel shape with his fingers, bringing them to a point at the fall.

"I mean the fall is survivable. How can we be certain they wont follow us off?" I walked over to him considering all of the possibilities.

"Even better, they will gather at the base of the falls to get out." Zane said walking over to us from the back of the room with his beta. "We'll surround them at the base. If our scents cross each others it'll give us just a little stall time to let whatever is going to happen, happen." he smiled at all of us, his blue eyes shining brightly.

"What about the hunters?" a small voice came from the corner next to the door. It was Carine the small she-wolf Dali freed. "If there is no one else I think we could draw their attention." she motioned to the group that had joined her on the escape. "To repay our alpha we have to do something." her voice was shaking but I could hear the resolve building in her as the group nodded in agreement.

"It's settled then. You may take some of my warriors to assist with the hunters." Issac said nodding as well.

"Mine to." Zane and Julian said in unison. They looked at each other and smiled at the synchronicity.

I nodded at them agreeing, my stomach still twisted with the anticipation of battle. Everyone looked ready as we solidified the plan, although it was a risky play we were all fighting for each other as one. As the time passed I began to let my anger take over my nerves. Remembering my Father, seeing the image of my pack in complete disarray. Knowing that this witch harmed my mate, it was all fuel to keep me going.

An hour had passed since we began planning everything. Some of the warriors arming themselves with guns. Others massaging their already sore limbs and fixing their bandages. I was talking with Carine when the room filled with a buzz that could only be from one person. Turning away from the she wolf I watched as Dali entered the room. She had showered and cleaned up her wounds.

"So much for wake me up in a half hour." she smiled looking at me and then to Carine. "I'm glad you made it safe. How is your sister?" she said checking the frail girl for any injuries.

"She is safe alpha." she smiled sweetly, "I am ready." she said turning to me, her face shifting from that smile to one of full seriousness. She bowed to us before beckoning the group to follow her out.

"So, what's the plan?" Dali scanned the room, her eyes falling on the map.

I explained to her the details of the plan, as I relayed them to Dustin as well. He had barely left Val since she was injured in the first wave.

"You stay back and watch over the house." I said to him before closing the link.

With everyone set in position all we needed to do was wait for nightfall. Once we have the moon above us we will move. My heart thumped loudly in my ears as the last scouts came back from their route declaring it clear. I looked down at my mate, she wore a stoic face with something behind her eyes I recognized. Revenge, rage, a vendetta against someone who may harm people you care about. Your pack.

"Its time." Zane called out to the room. Each wolf took in a breath and headed to their start points.

"Hey," Dali called before she headed off with her group. "Give her h*ll" she bounced on to the balls of her feet to kiss my cheek. Turning around she threw a wave over her shoulder and ran off.

"I have a bad feeling." Rainer whined, "she should be staying with us." he whined again. Ignoring him and my own feeling I joined my group. If I take care of my part, she will be safe no matter what.
