概要

Isabella Rivers has always been the quiet, resilient type, content with her simple life in the peaceful town of Hollow Creek. But beneath her calm exterior lies a heart that yearns for adventure and a love that can sweep her off her feet. When a series of strange occurrences begins to disrupt the town's tranquility, Isabella finds herself drawn into a world she never knew existed—a world where myths are real, and danger lurks in the shadows. Enter Damian Wolfe, the enigmatic and powerful alpha of a hidden werewolf pack that has protected Hollow Creek for generations. Damian is a man of few words, his life governed by duty and the weight of a dark prophecy that foretells his downfall. But when he meets Isabella, something awakens within him—a primal, protective instinct that threatens to consume him. As their worlds collide, Isabella is thrust into a whirlwind of passion and peril. The more time she spends with Damian, the more she uncovers about her own mysterious past, a past that ties her fate to the wolves in ways she never imagined. With each passing day, the bond between them grows stronger, but so does the danger surrounding them. As the prophecy looms closer and enemies close in, Isabella must decide if she is willing to embrace the life of the pack and the love of the alpha, even if it means risking everything she holds dear. In the end, it’s not just the future of the pack that hangs in the balance, but the fate of her heart as well. The Alpha's Embrace is a tale of forbidden love, ancient prophecies, and the undeniable pull of destiny. In a world where trust is as fragile as the bond between human and beast, Isabella and Damian must fight for their love against all odds, or risk losing everything to the shadows that seek to tear them apart.

Chapter 1Chapter 1: The Stranger in the Woods

Isabella Rivers adjusted the strap of her worn leather satchel as she stepped out of the Hollow Creek Bookstore, the last customer of the day having left minutes earlier. The familiar weight of the bag, filled with books and a thermos of tea, brought her a small comfort as she closed the shop's door behind her. The sun was setting, casting long shadows across the cobblestone streets, and the air was crisp with the scent of autumn. Hollow Creek was quiet, as it always was in the early evening, with only the distant murmur of a few conversations drifting from the nearby diner.

As she started her walk home, Isabella felt the familiar sense of peace that always came at this time of day. The quaint town, nestled deep in the forest, was her sanctuary. The tall, ancient trees surrounding Hollow Creek seemed to embrace the town, their leaves rustling gently in the breeze. But tonight, something felt different. There was an unusual tension in the air, as if the woods were holding their breath.

Isabella quickened her pace, the crunch of leaves under her boots the only sound breaking the silence. She couldn't shake the feeling that she was being watched. Her eyes darted to the forest's edge, where the trees stood like sentinels, their dark forms merging with the growing twilight. She had always felt a strange pull toward the forest, a connection she couldn't quite explain, but she had never ventured far into it—especially not after dark.

As she neared the path that led to her cottage, the unease that had been gnawing at her all day grew stronger. She glanced around, her gaze lingering on the darkened tree line, where shadows seemed to shift and twist with a life of their own. Then, she heard it—a faint rustling, followed by the unmistakable sound of footsteps.

Isabella froze, her heart pounding in her chest. The footsteps were slow and deliberate, not like those of an animal. Someone was there, just beyond the edge of the trees, watching her. She turned slowly, her breath catching in her throat as she searched the shadows for the source of the sound.

And then she saw him.

A man emerged from the darkness, stepping out from between the trees with an unnerving grace. He was tall and broad-shouldered, dressed in dark, weathered clothes that looked out of place in the small town. His face was partially obscured by the shadows, but Isabella could make out sharp, angular features and piercing eyes that seemed to glow with an unnatural light.

For a moment, neither of them moved. The man's gaze locked onto hers, and Isabella felt a chill run down her spine. There was something about him that set her on edge, something dangerous and primal. Yet, at the same time, she felt an inexplicable pull toward him, as if drawn by some invisible force.

"Evening," the man said, his voice low and smooth, with an edge that sent a shiver through her. "I didn't mean to startle you."

Isabella swallowed, trying to steady her racing heart. "You didn't," she lied, her voice barely above a whisper. "Can I help you with something?"

The man's lips curved into a half-smile, but it didn't reach his eyes. "Perhaps. I'm new in town and seem to have lost my way. Could you point me in the direction of the main road?"

Isabella hesitated. There was something off about this man, something that made her instincts scream at her to run. But there was also something familiar about him, something she couldn't quite place.

"The main road is just a few blocks down," she said, gesturing vaguely behind her. "If you keep walking, you'll find it."

"Thank you," he replied, his gaze never leaving hers. He took a step closer, and Isabella instinctively took a step back. "You live here, in Hollow Creek?"

"Yes," she answered cautiously. "All my life."

The man nodded, as if this confirmed something for him. "It's a beautiful town. Quiet, peaceful… but there's something else about it, isn't there?"

Isabella frowned. "What do you mean?"

He tilted his head slightly, his eyes narrowing. "Something in the air. In the forest. Something… ancient."

The way he said it sent another chill down Isabella's spine. "Who are you?" she asked, her voice trembling slightly.

The man regarded her for a long moment before answering. "Damian Wolfe," he said, the name rolling off his tongue with a hint of an accent she couldn't place. "And you are?"

"Isabella," she replied, though her instincts told her not to reveal more.

"Isabella," Damian repeated, as if testing the name. "A beautiful name for a beautiful place."

Before Isabella could respond, a distant howl echoed through the night, sending a shiver down her spine. It was a sound she had heard before, but never so close. Damian's expression darkened instantly, and his eyes flickered toward the forest, the amber glow in them intensifying.

"You should be careful, Isabella," Damian said, his tone suddenly serious. "There are dangers in these woods, especially at night."

Isabella's breath caught in her throat. "What kind of dangers?"

Damian took a step back, his gaze still locked on hers. "Things you wouldn't believe, even if I told you. Stay inside after dark. It's safer that way."

Before Isabella could respond, Damian turned and disappeared back into the forest, moving with a speed and grace that left her stunned. For a moment, she stood there, trying to process what had just happened. Who was this man, and what did he know about the dangers lurking in Hollow Creek?

As she finally forced herself to move, continuing her walk home, she couldn't shake the feeling that this was only the beginning—that Damian Wolfe's arrival in Hollow Creek would change everything. The strange, unsettling encounter left her with more questions than answers, and a lingering sense of unease that followed her all the way to her doorstep.

That night, as Isabella lay in bed, staring at the ceiling, her mind kept returning to those glowing amber eyes and the cryptic warning Damian had given her. Something was coming, something dark and dangerous, and she had the sinking feeling that she was already caught in its web.

The night grew colder, and outside, the wind howled through the trees, carrying with it the promise of something ominous. As Isabella drifted off to sleep, her dreams were filled with shadows, wolves, and the piercing gaze of the man who had emerged from the darkness.

Bambi and the Duke

Disowned for being a human, Vivian was taken in as a maid at the age of seven by the Carmichael household. Serving one of the most respected and elite pureblood families in Bonelake, there were rules. Rules that must be followed by all servants and maids. Like everyone else, Vivian was repeatedly reminded not to disobey the rules. But before she could learn to blend into the background like the other servants, the Duke's young son calls to her, “Bambi.” And all hell breaks loose. ----- "What? Never seen a bruise before?" Leonard scoffed at the girl. "Does it hurt?" Vivian asked, gently kneeling beside him and examining the several bruises covering his face. "Not that much." Remembering what her mother used to do when she got a bruise, Vivian brought her sleeve to her mouth and blew warm air on it before placing it on the boy's cheek, taking him by surprise. Leonard swatted her hand away, a hint of pink appearing on his cheeks embarrassed, "W-what are you doing?" "Mama told me this will make the pain go away," the girl held her hand close to her chest as she shared her past memory. "I’m not a child!” Leonard huffed at her. “I don’t think you’re a child,” she stared at him with a crystal-clear gaze. Taken aback, Leonard locked eyes with her for two seconds before shaking his head. “Don’t worry about it. They’ll heal in a day or two anyways," he reassured her before getting up and taking a seat at the table where his books were placed. "Odd girl," he muttered to himself as he pulled the top book from the stack and lost himself in it.
