"I talked to Callie last night about the resident's at Mercy West." Cristina told her people as they stepped into the elevator. "She said they don't suck."

"That's bad. They should suck." Helena pouted, scrunching up her nose.

"And you're safe cause of Derek." Cristina turned to Meredith. "Baby Einstein is safe cause of Mark and the fact that Arizona loves her. Izzie is safe cause of the cancer. Alex is Bailey's new favorite. Even George would have been spared, cause he was Owen's guy!" She complained.

"The Chief's guy too." Helena nodded, sipping on her coffee.

"Cardio has been a revolving door around here and no one's got my back!" The woman let out.

"So you're joining Lena in peds?" Meredith scoffed.

"Robbins's merger prof! She keeps little kids alive, no one likes a dead kid. Plus, they're under anesthesia half of the time, how bad can it be?" Cristina shrugged.

"Oh, god, Cristina Yang in peds, that something I did not expect." Helena giggled as she left the elevator along with Cristina. "Just try not to traumatize any little kids."

——

As the trio entered the ER, Meredith told them. "You know, we really should get some sleep before rounds?"

"Sleep is for wimps, sleep is for Mercy West residents." Cristina told them, Helena sighing.

"I am so tired...let's fit another trauma before rounds." Helena agreed.

Just then, Alex approached them at the nurses station with a panicked look, whispering. "Don't say anything about the wig?"

"Wig? What- ..." Helena let out as Izzie came in after the man.

"I'm back! Yes, I am early. But, whatever, I'm back, and because I've been gone so long the first trauma that comes through those doors is mine. Got it?" The woman told them, a red haired wig on her head, instead of the expected short, blond hair she'd have from the chemo. "It's amazing, right?"

"What?" Meredith asked, her eyes wide like Helena's.

"What's amazing?" Cristina let out.

"The wig!" Izzie told them, pointing to her head.

"Yeah!" Meredith agreed, still frozen in place.

"It looks so real I didn't even tell!" Cristina told her, over enthusiastically.

"Red hair looks good on you." Helena smiled. "Good time to experiment, right?"

"Exactly what I thought." Izzie nodded, returning the smile.

"Now, let's go, we've got peds rounds, Cristina. Arizona likes when we're early." The short girl told her friend, pulling her sleeve as they walked away. "Just try to take it easy today, I'm glad your back, Iz."

——

As Helena joined Arizona for rounds, she greeted. "Good morning, Dr. Robbins."

"Oh, you've given me dating advice and I've been accidentally mean to you, just call me Arizona. Besides, we've been given working together way too much not to be on first name basis." The woman smiled at her, Helena shooting her a smile back. "So, Yang's into peds now?"

"Yes, well, apparently." The resident told her, attempting to hide her smile.

"Interesting choice, wouldn't have guessed she likes kids." The attending shrugged just as Cristina approached them. "Ready for rounds, Dr. Yang?"

"Yes." Helena's friend nodded.

"You know, you don't look ready." Arizona narrowed her eyes at the woman.

"No, I'm ready! I've read over your patient charts and I noticed you have a shock wave lithotripsy scheduled for kidney stones this morning, and I was..." Cristina started, being cut off as Arizona pinned a small teddy bear to her lab coat.

"Not you're ready." Helena smiled at Cristina, the woman giving her an exasperated look as Arizona walked in front of them. "It's peds, Cristina. Comes with the job." The short girl giggled.

"Well, don't have one!" She complained.

"That's because I'm nice and I nice. You look mean, you need Mr. Bear." Helena told her, a smile on her face as Cristina shoved her playfully.

As they entered a patient's room, the small girl lying on the bed covered herself with her sheet.

At that, Arizona turned around, asking. "Oh, Dr. Yang, have you seen Sage? She's six, brown hair, gorgeous blue eyes, she just had a tumor removed from her belly so she has a bandage in her tummy."

"You know what? Why don't we check under the bed?" Helena suggested, approaching the bed with a clearly frustrated Cristina.

As the Asian peaked under the bed, Arizona updated the mother.

"Huh, nothing under the bed..." Helena let out.

"Maybe try the bathroom? Maybe she slipped in there?" The attending asked, Cristina following to the bathroom, rolling her eyes.

"Bathroom's clear." She let out.

"Wait, s." Arizona asked asked, approaching the older resident. "I think I hear something coming from your pocket!"

Helena gasped theatrically as she asked. "Dr. Yang, is Sage inside your pocket?"

Rolling her eyes, Cristina uncovered the girl, pointing out the obvious. "No, she's hiding here."

At that, Helena shot her friend a reprimanding look as Arizona pouted slightly.

"You gotta look in your pocket first..." The child told her, not amused.
