CHAPTER 8: The path of a leader(New update)

LEON'S POV

I stood in front of our small house, my chest heaving as i tried to catch my breath. The adrenaline still coursed through my veins, my hands stained with the blood of the knights who had dared to threaten and kidnap my family. My sister, with tears streaming down her face, ran past on me and collapsed on the ground, her sobs echoing in the quiet aftermath of the chaos.

As i watched her cry, a wave of guilt and sorrow washed over me. I never wanted my sister to witness such violence, to see the darkness that lurked within me when our family was threatened. But in that moment, i had no choice but to protect them, to unleash the unknown power that had been dormant within me.

Kneeling down beside my sister, I gently placed a hand on her trembling shoulder.

"I'm sorry, Mia,"

I whispered, my voice filled with regret.

"I never wanted you to see this side of me. I promise to keep you safe, no matter the cost."

She looked up at me, her eyes filled with a mixture of fear and understanding. She reached out and grasped my hand, seeking comfort in the midst of the chaos that surrounded them.

"I know, Leon," she said softly. "I trust you to protect us, no matter what."

As the sun began to set, casting a warm glow over the scene of destruction, I made a silent vow to myself. I would do whatever it took to ensure the safety of my family, to harness my newfound power for good, and to never let them face such danger again. And as i gazed into the horizon, a sense of determination filled his heart, propelling me forward into an uncertain future where i would have to navigate the consequences of my actions and the weight of my power.

My heart pounded in my chest as the system appeared, its ethereal presence sending a shiver down my spine,Before i could even process the sudden appearance, a familiar voice broke through the silence. It was my father, standing beside him,his expression a mix of concern and urgency.

"What do we do with the corpses, Son?"

his father's voice was steady, masking the turmoil that must be raging.

The question hung in the air, heavy with the weight of the situation we found ourselves in. We couldn't afford to leave the bodies out in the open, not when other people lived nearby who might stumble upon the gruesome scene.

My mind raced, grappling with the reality of the aftermath of my actions. I knew we had to act quickly, to dispose of the evidence before it drew unwanted attention. With my determined look in my eyes, I turned to my father and nodded solemnly and i was about to speak when mother interfere.

"We need to bury them," Mother's voice was firm, her resolve unwavering.

"We'll dig a grave in the woods, away from prying eyes. We can't risk anyone discovering what happened here."

My father for the sudden shocked on what mother said, he just nodded in agreement, a silent understanding passing between them.

Together, we began the somber task of laying the fallen knights to rest, our movements methodical and purposeful. As we worked in silence, the weight of our actions hung heavy in the air.

Leon held the sword, its smooth, cool surface pulsing with an inner light, a sense of power radiating from it. He felt a surge of confidence, a newfound strength that coursed through his veins. He was no longer the scared boy who had stumbled into this fantastical world. He was a warrior, a hero, a chosen one.

••

After eating, the System alerted him to a nearby quest. It involved a group of bandits who were terrorizing their village, A cursed village. Leon, eager to test his newfound skills again and prove himself, accepted the quest.

A small, quaint settlement nestled amidst rolling hills. Their neighbors were fearful, their faces etched with worry. They told him of the bandits, a ruthless band of outlaws who had been terrorizing them for weeks, stealing their crops, harassing their women, and leaving them in a state of constant fear.

Leon listened patiently, his heart filled with a righteous anger.

He tracked the bandits to their hideout, a dilapidated fortress perched atop a rocky crag. He fought his way through their ranks, his axe flashing like a silver blade, his movements swift and deadly. He was a whirlwind of destruction, his power amplified by the System, his skills honed to a razor's edge.

The bandits were no match for him. He defeated them one by one, his sword leaving a trail of carnage in its wake. He felt a thrill of exhilaration, a sense of power that coursed through him, a satisfaction that came from knowing he had made a difference.

When the last bandit fell, Leon stood tall, his sword dripping with blood, his eyes blazing with determination. He had saved the village, he had proved himself.

The villagers cheered, their faces lit with gratitude and relief. They showered him with praise, their words echoing in the air, a symphony of appreciation. Leon, however, felt a pang of sadness. He knew that this was just the beginning, that his journey had only just begun.

He had a destiny to fulfill, a world to protect, a darkness to conquer. He was the Transmigrant, the chosen one, and he was ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.

The world of the System was vast and complex, filled with wonder and danger, with hope and despair, with light and darkness. And he, Leon Cranve, the chosen one, was ready to embrace it all.

"How is it, having strength that can be amplified at any hour?" The System's assistant voice echoed, a hint of amusement laced within its digital tone.

Leon stretched, a groan escaping his lips. "Yeah, it's a bit tiring. I actually feel sore, like I've been through a real workout." He rubbed his shoulders, feeling the lingering ache of his recent battles.

"Here's the updated level for your victory, Master," the assistant declared, a holographic display shimmering into existence before him. "And every time you win and fulfill a quest, all pain and wounds will be healed."

Leon's eyes widened as he read the information scrolling across the screen:

"You're still at a lower level, Master" the assistant continued, its voice now laced with a touch of urgency. "You should level up more. The System will give you many more quests, and the challenges will only get harder."

Leon stared at the display, a mixture of pride and apprehension washing over him. He had accomplished so much in such a short time, but he knew that the journey had only just begun. He had to become stronger, faster, smarter. He had to become someone who's strong.

He took a deep breath, the adrenaline from his recent victory still coursing through his veins. He was ready for the next challenge, ready to face whatever dangers lay ahead.

Leon felt a wave of warmth wash over him as his body healed, the aches and pains from his recent battle fading like a dream. The System had granted him the rewards for his victory over the bandits, restoring him to peak condition. He stood tall, his muscles relaxed, his mind clear. He was ready for whatever came next.

Suddenly, a voice, familiar and filled with concern, pierced through the quiet of the morning. "Leon! Leon!"

He turned to see his parents rushing towards him, their faces etched with worry. His mother, her eyes red-rimmed, reached out to touch his face, her fingers tracing the contours of his cheek. His father, his expression a mixture of relief and pride, placed a hand on his shoulder.

"So many of our neighbors have been telling us about your strength, son," his father said, his voice thick with emotion. "They say you saved the village from those bandits."

"How are you, Leon? Are you okay? Did you get hurt?" His mother's voice trembled, her concern evident in every word.

Before Leon could respond, his younger sister, Leann, rushed forward, throwing her arms around his waist in a tight hug. His brother, Dion, stood beside them, his face filled with admiration.

Leon sighed, overwhelmed by the outpouring of affection. He was used to his family being talkative, but this was something else. They were crying, their voices choked with emotion. He could see the relief and pride in their eyes, but he also saw the fear, the worry that lingered beneath the surface.

He smiled, trying to reassure them. "I'm fine, Mom, Dad. Really. I'm stronger than ever."

He looked around, noticing the villagers gathered nearby, their faces turned towards him, their eyes filled with gratitude and awe. He understood their fear, their need for a hero, a protector. He had become that for them, and he knew that he couldn't let them down.

"As I saw on their faces, it looks like they want you to be their leader," the System's assistant observed, its digital voice a smooth monotone. "The Lord of this cursed village that has been abandoned by the Count."

Leon chuckled, a wry smile playing on his lips. "They're just being nice. I'm not cut out for leadership."

He knew, however, that there was a glimmer of truth in the System's words. The villagers looked at him with a newfound respect, a sense of hope that he hadn't felt before. They saw him as a protector, a savior, a beacon of light in their otherwise bleak existence.

He had saved them from the bandits, yes, but he had also shown them strength, courage, and a sense of purpose that they had long forgotten. He had awakened something within them, a spark of hope that they had thought was extinguished.

But Leon knew that he wasn't ready for leadership. He was still learning, still growing, still discovering his own path. He had a destiny to fulfill, a prophecy to unravel, a darkness to conquer. He couldn't afford to be weighed down by the burdens of leadership, not yet.

He looked at the village, the humble homes, the weary faces, the lingering sense of despair. He knew that he couldn't abandon them completely. He had a responsibility to them, a debt to repay. But he also knew that his journey lay beyond the village, in the vast and dangerous world that awaited him.

"I'll help them," he said, his voice firm, his eyes filled with determination. "I'll do what I can to make their lives better. But also I have to leave them after teaching them to learn, to grow, to prepare for the future."
