While working, I also monitor the surroundings in case a deletion monster appears.
Even though it's unlikely, considering how dangerous it is, I can't help but be careful.
But no matter how hard I looked, there wasn't a single sign of it.
The more I work, the more tired I become. It was tough, but I kept on working.
There was only a little bit left. I gathered the remaining debris and tossed it into the pile.
Once everything was done, I could finally relax.
My body was aching. My legs felt like jelly. I didn't even realize that this kind of thing was hard. With that, the job was finished.
Now, all I had to do was wait for the leader to return.
He said he would be around the area doing his jobs, though I couldn't see him around here. He probably has gone a bit further and was doing something important. I guess I will wait until he returns.
So with that, I decided to take another rest, at the nearby bench.
I didn't wait long before he came back.
"I'm back, did you finish your work?"
"Yeah, I'm done pilling up all of the debris into one area? Though how would you dispose of them, there's a lot of them."
"No worries, just leave it to me. By the way, you did a great job, I appreciate it."
"You're welcome. Anyway, the payment."
"Oh yeah, you helped a lot. Here's the payment. 2000 credits, just remember that I will still pay the rest."
I received the credits from him, I'm glad that he was paying me. I was surprised to hear that there's more, I mean I am just helping him and 2000 credits should be enough.
"Anyway, thanks a lot for the help. If you don't mind, would you like to help me again?"
"Sure, it's not a problem. It's not like I have anything to do and earning credits is my number one priority right now since I don't belong to any faction. Also, I need a place to stay in a few more days since I would be kicked out from the lodgings."
He was quite surprised when he heard I said all of the stuff, "So you are telling me that you are new in this place and not belonging to any faction. And you have to move out of the lodgings within a few days."
"Yup, that's it. Just arrived here a few days ago and truth be told, I am just about to sign up to the adventurer faction before you drag me to help me out."
"I see. Anyway, how about joining the Builder Faction?" He said.
I was taken aback when he said that, I did consider it as it's an option but knowing how small the faction is, I thought I wouldn't be able to learn much. But I am aware of something should I have joined the builder faction. That was I had no building skills at all, meaning that I couldn't do most of the jobs.
"Sorry, but I am not sure if I can help much as I have no skills to offer and I also need the credits. It's not that I am not interested but, well you know, the main problem here is my skill is not suitable for the job. That's the main reason why I was about to sign up for the adventurer faction."
"Truth to be told here, I don't mind you not having the skill. All I need is the manpower to help me with some of the jobs... it's tough to be the only one doing all of the things. And since you did help me, I could make an exception and allow you to join the faction. You don't have to worry about not getting the credits as I will pay a fair amount."
To be honest, it is a great offer. And the fact that I would be able to learn a thing or two from him.
But then I remembered the other thing that he said, 'You don't have to worry about not getting the credits as I will pay a fair amount.'.
If he was willing to pay a fair amount and didn't mind about me not having the skill. It was safe to assume that he was going through a tough time.
I mean, he was the only member in the faction and it's a very small one, I think.
Putting aside my not having the skill of a builder. I think this job would suit me well enough if all I required to do was just to move stuff around similar to what I did today. It's a tiresome job but it has less risk than being an adventurer.
"If I were to accept the offer, would there be any benefits that I would receive similar to the one that the adventurer faction offers to people who register to be an adventurer?"
"You're asking about the benefits? Well, it does have some benefits, that's a free place to live and pretty a lot of space since there isn't any member beside me at the faction base. But then again, I never really give it a thought of making benefits as I don't think that there will be anyone that interested in joining."
It's not a bad deal to be honest, a free place to stay and decent credits if I help. Since I am getting 2000 credits just by helping him, I'm sure that I could earn a lot more than that if I joined up the builder faction.
"If that is the case, then I will accept your offer. But first, what's your name? Since you know my name, it would be a good idea if I know yours." I ask him that as I never really know his name at all.
"Sorry, forgot to introduce myself. Anyway, my name is Kaido."
"Kaido, so should I refer to you as a leader or by something else?"
"It's not necessary at all, just call me by name. There's no need to be so formal."
"Alright then, so how would I register? Do I need to head to the builder faction base or?"
"That won't be necessary, I would just hand you down this keycard and your information would be automatically filled. Though just make sure you don't lose that keycard as it's a prove you are a part of the faction."
I took the keycard that he handed me, it was a normal-looking black keycard, but I could feel a different aura emanating from the keycard.
"This is quite interesting, the keycard has this weird aura. I can't describe it properly but I do know it's not normal."
"It's just a normal keycard, but what's special is the data in it. So don't lose it. Also, I would guide you to our base after we finish the job here. And since you are already part of this faction, how about helping me a bit more."
"Sure, but shouldn't you be clearing the debris first as it wouldn't look nice that the stuff pilling over there."
"You are right! Well, it's gonna take a few seconds, so just wait a bit." Kaido said as he then seemed to be focused on something all of a sudden. And I could feel that something was a bit different about him.
I just looked at him as I was a bit curious about what is he doing. But then, a weird dark portal appears from the ground. And a maid appeared out of nowhere, not just a normal maid as I could tell that it was a wyvern maid.
The wyvern maid is a humanoid creature with dragon features, she possesses wings, and a tail. They are known for their beauty and loyalty.
She looks a bit weird wearing a maid outfit and carrying a broom, she was standing still and waiting for Kaido's order.
"Eleifa, clear the pile of debris please."
"As you wish, Master." The wyvern maid, Eleifa, then proceeds to sweep the pile of debris into the portal that is below her.
'I never saw a wyvern maid before and they seem to be loyal. Also, what is this dark portal?'
However, I do realize something, about what sort of class he was in. Kaido is a summoner and not just a normal summoner... because of the wyvern maid that appears. I am aware that he was a summoner who's pretty high-level and specialized in rare creatures.
If I was in the game, people usually refer to such a summoner with a nickname, Maids Summoner.
The wyvern maid continued to sweep the pile of debris into the dark portal, it was done quite fast. She didn't even spend that much time on the job.
After she finished the job, she bowed and then went back to where she came from. Which was the dark portal.
I was impressed by what I just saw.
"That was amazing, is that the power of a summoner?" I ask him that.
He simply smiles as he says, "It's not really amazing, there's pretty a lot more amazing summoners out there besides me."
