6 Moves And Counter Moves (Scarlett)

(Scarlett)

I wake up with a massive Hickey on the sweet spot between my shoulder and neck. The only evidence of last night’s incident. It felt possessive to have Loki’s mark on my skin. Like in a way, he wanted other men to know I should not be touched by anybody else. I wasn’t sure if it frilled me or scared me. After all, Loki didn’t do relationships, and this didn’t make me his girlfriend or whatever. I hope it wasn’t his way of saying that I would be his next fuck, sooner or later. Although the idea of Loki naked and wanting me made me hot to my very core. I wasn’t going to make it easy for him. Game on.

I covered up the Hickey with makeup, wearing my hair down. To be on the safe side, I also wore a short-sleeved crop top paired with ripped skinny jeans and Red platform wedges.

Thankfully I didn’t hear any new rumour about me as I walked through the school halls. I wasn’t in the headspace today to be dealing with high school drama. But of course, that never lasted long. Sure enough, when I turned the corner, already late to my first class. I almost collide with non-other than Barbie number one herself, flanked by two minions of Barbie’s.

“Woo!” I protest, stopping abruptly. Team Barbie give me the evil eye as they look me over head to toe.

“Look what we have here, girls. I don’t know if anyone has told you, but it’s not Halloween,” Cheryl Grinned, flashing her perfectly white teeth. I was tempted to look down at myself and frown because I didn’t really look that Gothic today, in all honesty.

“Dam! I’m always getting the dates mixed up” I shrug. She laughs a bitter fake sound, her minions following suit.

“Listen here bitch”, She says, getting into my face, her head bobbing side to side like a fucking doll. “I will say this once, and only once. Loki Morganstar is not interested in you. He will never be interested in you. You are nothing. So stay the hell away from him” I know I should of just agree to it; what did I care, right? But me, being me, I just couldn’t help myself. I didn’t like bitches telling me what to do.

“First off, step the fuck back”, I command. Despite being a fair bit shorter than the leggy blond. I wasn’t one for taking shit from anybody. Reluctantly Barbie moves back, barely. “Secondly, I really couldn’t give two shits about your petty little jealousy. And don’t pretend this is anything else. You’re so insecure about yourself and whatever it is your doing with Loki. Don’t involve me in your business.” I snap. She stepped back into my face. I clench my fists to refrain from tearing into the bitches’ fake hair.

“Watch who you’re talking to! I could destroy you before you even blink,” Cheryl claims with more sass than we could pull off.

“Please”, I laugh bitterly. “I know your game. While you don’t know the first thing about me,” I challenge. Barbie laughs, then turns around, a smile on her lips as if she has won.

“Watch your back Whore! I’m coming for you,” She warns before walking away, the minions bowling a step behind her. I watch her walk down the empty hallway until she disappears out of sight. I shake my head. There is nothing she could do to me that I couldn’t do worse. Let the games begun.

It didn’t take long for Barbie to make the first move. I assumed it was a warning shot, something low impact that sent a message.

Morning break had started, and I was already late to meet Storm. I had just walked into the sixth form common when I saw it. Spread out across every surface, tapped to every wall and all over the floor was one photo. A photo I didn’t even know existent until right this second. It was of me and Storm, age sixteen, wearing mismatch bikinis are hair in bunches. And in the photo, we were very clearly kissing.

The room was already full of student, a deathly silence falling among them as all eyes fell on me. There was no sign of Adam, Loki or Asher. But I did see my best friend stood halfway in the room. One of the copies was in her shaking hands and tears streaming down her face.

It didn’t bother me that Barbie had leaked a photo of me kissing another girl. I could handle myself. What bothered me was my actions had impacted Storm. That was unacceptable in my eyes. I crossed the room to her in three quick steps, pulling her into my arms and wrapping mine around her. At first, she froze. The room was so quiet I could hear my own heartbeat. I promised myself then and there, this bitch was going down. After a few seconds, I felt Storm relax, her arms coming around me. She pressing her tear-stained face into my shoulder.

I turned my face toward her and whispered in her ear, “There are two options right now. Number one. We let her win. We let this photo get between us and ruin our friendship. Or option two. We stick together and laugh it off. What’s it going to be?” she pulls back, a small smile tugging at her lips, she nods. “Let’s own this,” I say, giving her a flirtatious wink. Storms answering giggle was all the encouragement I needed. I take her hand in mine are finger intertwining. “Does anybody have a problem with this?” I asked loud enough for all to hear. Not one person spoke, everyone quickly busying themselves and finding somewhere else to be. Cowards. It was easy to pick on someone that didn’t defend themselves. Easy to judge someone when you hadn’t walked in their shoes.

I guide Storm over to the back corner table, her hand still entwined with mine, a smile plastered on my face. We sat close together are hands visibly interlinked on the tabletop. I fixed up her makeup and had her laughing in no time.

“Hey”, Adam appears beside our table, his eyes darting between Storm and me. “Are you alright?” He asked us, sliding into a seat.

“Yeah, we are good, just admiring the new décor. You?” I ask him, an amused grin on my face. He seemed taken back by my relaxed approach.

“Who did this?” He questions, his eyes turning hard.

“We did”, Storm lied, smiling brightly. All traces of her humiliation gone. “Haven’t you heard we are the Schools new hottest couple?” Adam’s face said it all; he wasn’t buying it.

“I’m handling,” I tell him with a lazy shrug. He nods. He knew I could handle myself. Just then, the rest of his friends come bouncing over to our table, except the one. Loki wasn’t among them.

“Hey, Scarlett, Storm”, Shaun greats up. “Nice pic! You’re going to break a lot of hearts with this photo,” He teased light-heartedly.

“Awe, I’m sure your get over it”, Storm laughs. Asher drops into the seat next to me, and a sad, lovesick puppy look in his eyes.

“Hey, Asher,” I say, putting my hand on his shoulder. “You know if this doesn’t work out. I can always give you a call,” I joke. Making his face light up.

“I better be the first number you dial, baby girl!” He beams, placing his hand on top of mine. I laugh.

“No dating my sister... or not dating.... just don’t touch or think about her”, Adam groans, repulsed by the idea. We all laugh. Alisa appearing in Adams lap.

“Hey sweetie, can I get in on this?” Alisa Jokes “I’m up for being a lesbian three-way with you girls. No more grumpy, territorial males!” Adams growls in protest. While the other guys in the group whisper and hoot.

“Baby come on down”, I wink at her. Ailsa slips off of Adam’s lap, moving over to sit on mine.

“I should have known it would be my own sister to seal my women from me”, Adam sighed dramatically.

“How are we supposed to compete?” Asher Agrees, “Hell if I were a girl, I’d be a lesbian too.”

“Awe, well, I’m sure we could let you watch”, Alisa teased. Making the guys eye practically pop out of their socket.

“Or do a timeshare”, I consider.

“Yes! Lesbians during the day, bedtime back with babe,” Alisa agrees.

“Wow, guys are so easy to wind up,” Storm remarks, giggling.

“Don’t spit on my Dream!” Asher cries out. Making us all laugh. I notice the Barbie’s sitting alone at Adam’s usual table. To say Cheryl looked pissed would have been putting it lightly if looks could kill. I’d sure as hell me dead. I knew that from here on out, it was going to get dirty.

The bell finally rang. Bringing me back to the present. I was surprised I accurately enjoyed sitting with my brother’s friends; I don’t know why it surprised me. I had known most of them for years, got on with them even. But school was a different world, and I probably wouldn’t make a daily habit of it. I made sure to walk hand in hand with Storm to our creative writing class. There was a lot of whispers and curious looks in the hallway. But nobody approached us, and for that, I was more than grateful. I couldn’t believe it was only Tuesday, the first week back at school, and I had managed to be a hot topic both days. I hoped this wasn’t going to be a theme this year.

I had almost forgotten about last night’s Hickey until I was walking into my Tutor group. Loki Morganstar sat on the end of the second row, His arms crossed behind his head, flexing the muscles in his arms. He wore a red Snap-back, his matching football jacket draped over the back of his chair. I hadn’t realised I stopped walking until one of Barbie’s minions slammed into the back of me, sending me flying. I crashed painfully to my knees right beside Loki’s table. A squeal leaving my lips.

Someone offered me a hand, and I gratefully took it, getting to my feet. Asher stood before me, a half-smile on his lips.

“Quite the entrance you made there, you alright,” He asked. His hand still holding my own.

“Yeah. Thank you” I smiled gratefully at Asher.

“Please, everyone, take your seats”, Called Mrs Drew entering the room. Our hands drop, and I bend down to grabbing my bag before piling into the front row next to Asher.

“As some of you may know already. A cretin photo was leaked in the Sixth former Common room earlier today,” She said, looking at everyone except for me. “As sixth-former, we expect better from you, to set an example to the other students. We do not tolerate bullying of any kind in this school or prejudice ageist any one person’s ethnicity, background, religious view, sexual orientation or sex. Do I make myself clear?” She asks, her tone harsh. Everyone replied with a yes. Mrs Drew when over to the computer to log in and take the register.

“Anything happens since the photo?” Asher asked, turning to me.

“Not really, few whispers and looks but nothing else. I’m sure there will be more drama soon to come,” I remark.

“Why do you say that?” He asked.

“This was only a warning. The person who did it pretty much told me they are coming after me,” I rant. He looks around, lowering his voice.

“Wait, you know who did it?” He questioned, his eyes wide. I nod. “Who is it?”

“I can’t tell you” I shake my head sadly at him. “It’s personal. I need to be the one to finish this”

“You don’t have to do this alone”, he pleas, his eyes concerned. I shake my head.

“What are you two whispering about?” Loki asks, leaning forward on his desk, his jaw clenched.

“We were”, Asher started, but I cut him off.

“Nothing”, I declare, giving Asher a pointed look. He frowns at me, confused. Loki sits back in his chair, his lips a hard line.

“Didn’t look like anything”, He grumbles, folding his arms over his chest. Loki’s eyes were pinning me in place.

“Well, it was. I don’t know what to tell you,” I deflect, shrugging it off.

“Asher?” Loki questions, glaring at me.

“What she said, man, it was nothing”, Asher lies, not wanting to get into the middle of this. Loki’s eyes shift back to me.

“Since when do you keep secrets from me?” He asks, his voice coming out more of a growl.

“Why do you care?” I snap. He laughs bitterly, opening his mouth to say more, but before he could, Mrs Drew calls out my name.

“Here”, I reply.

“The principal wants to see you in his office, now”, Mrs Drew instructs me. I nod. Getting to my feet before grabbing my bag. As I walk past Loki’s desk, his hand shoots out and grabs me.

“I need to talk to you”, Loki declares. “I’ll catch you after this,” he said before realising my arm. I don’t reply as I exit the room. One of Barbie’s minions watched me, a fake smile plastered on her face. Great.

(Loki)

I didn’t have to wait long before Scarlett came bursting out of the principal’s office, looking like she was ready to kill somebody. I probably should have waited for a best time, but I was so blinded by my own rage that I couldn’t see past it.

“Hey!” I jumped up, stepping in her path.

“Not now, Loki”, She warned me, trying to sidestep me. I reach out, not taking no for an answer and pull Scarlett into an empty meeting room, locking the door behind me. Cageing her, between me and the wall.

“Yes now,” I demand, my hands flat ageist the wall on either side of her. She didn’t fight me.

“What do you want?”

“Answers!” I growl back, my anger getting the better of me. “What happened this morning? Why is everyone talking about you kissing my sister?”

“Oh, for fuck sack! This has nothing to do with you!” she snarls, shoving her hands into my chest. I didn’t move an inch.

“It has everything to do with me! She’s my little sister Scar. And after last night... what am I supposed to be thinking?” I argue, stepping closer.

“It was two years ago. We were sixteen!” Scarlett testifies, laughing bitterly. “Storm wanted to know what it felt like to be kissed. It was a stupid one-time thing, between friends.”

“You were my sister’s first kiss?” I consider. “but there was a photo.”

“yes but, I didn’t know that photo existed until now,” Scarlett chuckled bitterly. Letting her hands fall back to her sides.

“Who leaked it?” I demand, not expecting her to know. Scarlett looked away, saying nothing. Holy shit, she knew. “Well?”

“I don’t know”, She lied, still not looking at me. I put my hand under her chin, forcing her to meet my gaze.

“Tell me”, I order, my voice harsh.

“No.” Gods, she was so fucking stubborn. I moved close. so close; I could almost kiss her.

“Scarlett, you better tell me right now, or I swear to god,” I warn my voice low. But Scarlett only laughed, a rebellious smile tugging at her lips.

“Or what? Will you kiss me? Bite my neck again?” She dares, her voice flirtatious “You wouldn’t touch me. Not unless I wanted you too.” I growled, slamming my fist into the wall behind her. I was so angry and frustrated. She knew she had me. There was nothing I could do if she didn’t tell me willingly. Which of course she wouldn’t because she was so goddam stubborn. Never willing to accept anyone else’s help.

“What about Asher, huh? You tell him?”

“What?! No?” She frowned, confused by the change in sibject. I should have stopped talking. I was coming across like a territorial arsehole, but I couldn’t—the words falling from my lips before I could stop them.

“Are you sleeping with him?” I accuse.

“Oh my god! Why would you ask me that?” She questions, her eyes searching mine.

“Answer the dam question. Are you sleeping with Ash!?” I question, jaw clenched, eyes hard. I was so close to losing it, one word from her, and that would have been it.

“Loki Morganstar, are you.... jealous?” She laughed in disbelieve, shaking her head at me.

“I’m not fucking jealous.”

“Yes, you are! Your so fucking jealous. That’s what this whole thing is about, isn’t it?” She claims, poking her fingers into my chest.

“Stop spinning this on me!” I fume, grabbing her hand and pinning it above her head. “I need to know, do you want him?”

“For fuck sake, I don’t have time for your problems right now”, She declares, trying and failing to realise herself from my grip. “I have to go find your sister! After what happened at break, I don’t want anymore confrontation heading her way,” She clarified. Scarlett still hadn’t answered my question, hadn’t even tried to deny it. The realisation hitting me like a punch to the stomach. I stepped back. Scarlett straightens her clothes, grabbing her bag that had fallen to the floor and head to the door.

I didn’t move. My body frozen in ice. Suffocating, and Scarlett didn’t care. Like whatever the fuck had happened between us meant nothing. The door opened, but she didn’t step out straight away. “Storm will always come first to me,” She admits, her voice softer than it had been a moment ago.

“Just fucking go”, I snapped back. My eyes fixed on the wall. After a minute, the door shut. I stood there for a long while after Scarlett had left. After all the anger had drained away, I felt numb and instead of facing my problems like a normal person. I did what I did best and found a distraction.

I made my way up to the Sixth form common room, ignoring my friend’s greetings and calls to join them. Like as mnasn on a mission, I walk over to some random chick. She was tall and skinny with big fuck me eyes. She would do. I rap my hasnds around her waist, tugginh her into my chest. “Hey,” I breathe, my voice husky.

“Hey”, She giggles, fluttering her eyelashes at me. I smile, my best pantie dropping smile, looking down at her lips. That was all it took. I put my hand on the back of her neck and kissed her, hard and rough. Telling her at that moment exactly what I needed. She kissed me back, opening her mouth to let my tongue enter hers. Then gasped. Her hands going into my hair, pulling me closer. I had her legs around my hips in less than a minute. Her panties wrapped around her ankles as I thrust my cock into her soaking wet pussy. Her screams Echoing off the bathroom tiltes.

(Scarlett)

Storms phone when to voice mail after the second ring. Shit. This was the fifth time I had called her, and I had left her a bunch of messages. Yet nothing. Storm was never unreachable. To say I was freaking out was a colossal understatement. I had checked her and my tutor room, the canteen, her locker and every bathroom on the first and second level. Nada. I tried to call Adam. But of course, he didn’t pick up. Then Alisa. No answer. Why the fuck was the point in phone when nobody answered them! There was only one place left to look, the sixth form common room. I knew Storm wouldn’t be in there, but Loki would be. Begrudgingly I needed his help with this; he was the only other person that would be able to find her.

I entered the common room and was thankful to see the photos had been removed. I made my way over to Loki’s group, noting his absence quickly. Fuck sake.

“Hey, Asher”, I greet him half-heartedly. “You seen Storm or Loki?”

“No Storm. But Loki’s in the bathroom,” He tells me, gesturing to the disabled. I nod, making my way over to the door. Asher jumped over the back of the sofa, stopping me in my tracks. “Hey, you do not want to go in there. Trust me!” He warns. The guys in the group were snickering. I roll my eyes.

“What?! Is he in there with someone?” I ask, crinkling up my nose in disgust. Asher didn’t answer, didn’t need to. I could hear the girl’s moaning. I didn’t let myself think about it. I wouldn’t let myself be hurt that he was getting off with someone else. I was not his girlfriend and my feelings were irrelevant. What mattered was finding Storm. Despite myself, I stepped around Asher and make my way over to the bathroom. He didn’t stop me this time. I was having an awful day. And it was only halfway done. It was Loki’s fault anyway. I needed to find my best friend. So if that means I had to burst in on him fucking, that was precisely what I would do.

I flinging open the door wide. Unsurprisingly it wasn’t locked. “What the fuck!” Shouted the girl, covering her exposed breasts.

“Shit”, Loki swore. He had been standing before her. His hand braced on the wall. Seeing me standing there, he quickly pulled out of her, stuffing his cock into his pants before zipping them back up. I felt sick. Storm. We need to find storm.

“Your little sister is missing,” I told him, forcing my face into neutrality. My voice cold and void of all emotions. “She’s not picking up her phone, and I’ve searched everywhere for her” Once I relay the information, I turn on my heels and start walking away. A crowd had gathered and parted like the red sea as I walked on. Loki was quick to appear at my side; he didn’t say anything. He didn’t need to. I had seen enough.

I stepped out of the common room and started down the hallway. When we were far enough away, not to be overheard, I finally spoke. “I blame you for this. You know that, right. Whatever has happened to Storm, It’s on you,” I declare, unable to look him in the eye.

“Look, I’m sorry-” Loki started, but I cut him off by holding up my hand.

“No. We are not doing this right now. Storm is my best friend and your sister. She needs us right now,” I preach.

“Did you check the parking lot?” He asks. I shake my head. “I’ll check,” jogging off before I could say anything else. I knew what I had to do. I would confront Barbie. I hadn’t seen her in the common room, so I decided to check the next best place: the courtyard, smoking area.

Sure enough, there she was. Sitting at a picnic table, flanked by four of her minion’s. I approached head-on. My fists clenched and u clenching at my side.

“Dyke Alert”, Barbie calls out, making her minions laugh.

“Where is Storm?” I snap, sweeping my arm across the table and sending their bags, phones, food and drinks crashing to the ground. The girls squeal, jumping to their feet.

“You bitch!” She hissed, “Probably ran home crying. I don’t know. I’m not her girlfriend!”

“What did you do?”

“Nothing, it’s not my fault she’s sensitives!” Cheryl complains, her voice painfully high-pitch. I didn’t buy it for a second. I reached across the table, grabbing a fistful of her hair, and pulling. Squeals erupting around me as Barbie’s perfect face collides with the table. Crack. She cried out, flailing her fingers. A crowd had gathered around us. When Cheryl finally rose, blood was leaping down her face. Her nose sticking out at an odd angel, and her lip was split open.

Someone screamed, lurching themselves onto my back. Instinctively I grab the girls wrist and bend, throwing her over my shoulder. Babies minion lands with a thump; the wind knocked out of her. Another girl comes at me from the side, using her nails to claw at my arm and face. I try to grab her wrists with my hands but can’t see shit with my hair in my eyes. She gets me a few times, minor scratches and hits. I kick out, connecting with her knee, making her crash to the floor. I hold up my hands. I don’t fight this girl. I only came to find out where Storm was and get Cheryl to back the fuck off.

The girl, however, had other ideas. “Bitch!” She hissed. “I’ll cut you!” then she lunged. Hitting, scratching, and grabbing onto my tee, my hair. I managed to defend myself well. But soon enough, Cheryl joined in, attempting to get revenge. Fabric ripping and nails connect with the flesh of my shoulder. I shout out in pain. Managing to grab hold of the other girl’s wrist and yank her toward me. My foot connecting with her stomach, while landing a good to her face. She fell down crying.

Cheryl again tryed to attack me, it was clear she had no experience fighting. Her footwork was sloppy, and her attacks predictable. I switch to offence. Moving close enough to land a punch to her chest. She screams, stepping back. I attack again, kicking out and earning a hit to her throat. She drop too the ground, desperately sucking in air.

“Little advice. Don’t pick a fight with someone you are not guaranteed to win.” I advise. Walking away. I didn’t bother to acknowledge the gawking crowd. The bell ranging, to signal the end of lunch. While I started the long walk back to the parking lot I finssllky notice my phone buzzing—an unknown number. I accepted the call, putting the phone to my ear.

“Hello?”

“Where the hell are you? I call you like four times!” Loki voice shouted through the speaker.

“Busy. Did you find Storm?” I ask, walking through the main school building.

“Yeah Storms here,” He replied, his voice sounding revealed, “she looks fucking traumatised; and is refusing to talk to me.”

“Where was she?” I press.

“At home curled up on her bed.”

“Did you call your mum?” I questioned.

“Yeah, she’s on her way but probably won’t get back till after eleven”, Loki informs me. I nod though he couldn’t see me. A short silence passes between us. Before he asks, “Are you okay?”

“Fricking Fantastic,” I say sarcastically. “Look, I’m going to come over to check up on Storm.”

“Okay, I’ll see you soon then. Maybe we can even have that talk?” He asks hopefully.

“I’ll think about it”, I sigh.

“That’s all I ask.”

“I’ll see you soon. Bye,” I hang up the phone.
