(I am not a native english speaker, so please forgive me for any spelling mistakes, this is also the first novel I am writing, so don't expect high quality stuff, this is just going to be some half-assed story, that I am writing because of quarantine, and I repeat DON'T EXPECT QUALITY! Music Contest: First Part

Akane practiced on her piano again, she didn't play something complicated or difficult, she just played twinkle, twinkle little star again, the first piece she learned, it was easy, comfortable to handle, and just relaxing for her.

She didn't have much to do, she currently just hit a wall for improvements, it just seemed as if she couldn't portray more emotions than she already did trough her piece, she was sad upon finding that out, but she wasn't agitated or anything, she knew that patience is a virtue, and what she now needed the most was patience, she won't be able to break the wall down if she go impatient now.

So, she just practiced, patient practice, she didn't know why, but always when she tried to break the wall down, she felt a nagging feeling inside her heart, she didn't know what it was, but she knew it had something to do with music.

So she tried to concentrate, concentrate on the notes in her soul, but it was difficult, every time she tapped a key it felt wrong, she tapped each of the 88 keys trough and still couldn't determine what she would push, this greatly frustrated her, but she calmed down again, getting impatient isn't going to help, so she concentrated, she concentrated even more, trying to reach even deeper, trying to determine the keys she should play.

And then she finally reached some of it, she slowly moved her hands and then pushed the notes, she felt great satisfaction upon finding the right ones, she felt as if she found a part of herself again.

"Akane?"

Hearing the voice of her mother shocked her, it shocked her so much that she jumped up from her chair and scurried into a corner of the room, she held her chest in pain and started hyperventilating, her heart hurt and it felt like it beat at 200 beats per minute. Suddenly everything started to spin and she fell unconscious.

"Akane! AKANE!"

Well, at least she heard the voice of her mother until she fell unconscious, man did she feel crappy.

------------------------------------------------------------------

She woke up in a familiar room, she immediately sat up upon the realization that she was in the hospital again.

"Mommy, are you here?"

She called out once, no response, her echolocation didn't give her a response in human form too, so she was alone in the room. She searched for the button that called the nurse, she found it and immediately pressed it upon finding it. Minutes later a nurse came into her room.

"How much time has passed since I fell unconscious and is my mother still in the hospital?"

The nurse hesitated for a moment. She needed a moment to process the information she got.

"You were unconscious for about seven hours before your body switched back into a normal sleep state again, which you stayed in for an additional five hours. And for your mother, she is still in the hospital, heck she is currently even lying beside you, can't you see her?"

Akane gave her disapproving look.

"I am blind."

The nurse realized what she just now and apologized again, before going out of the room again.

Akane looked beside her and then used echolocation to the fullest potential she could use.

"Huh, she really is laying there, she is in a strange position though, that could be the reason why I didn't realize that it was her, she must be really tired if she can't react to me calling for her."

Akane lifted her hand, shaking her mother gently.

"Mommy, mommy wake up, I am good again."

"Huh, Akane? You are awake again?"

Fumio needed a moment to realize that her daughter wasn't asleep anymore.

"Wait, Akane! How are you feeling? Does something hurt? Can you breathe normally? Does your heart still hurt? How is your body? Do you still remember who I am?"

The moment she realized Fumio started to bombard her daughter with questions upon questions, Akane couldn't really follow, because it was a bit much.

"Mommy! You are asking too much! I can't follow, I can't answer your questions if you keep up this pace!"

Suddenly her mother just stopped talking and Fumio looked like as if she was about to cry, in the next moment she already hugged her daughter.

"Akane, I was so worried about you, I thought that I am going to lose you, I was really worried for a moment that you would just die."

Akane hugged her mother back, smiling a little smile of satisfaction.

"Mommy you are clearly underestimating me. It needs a lot more than that to kill me."

She didn't know why, bit for that moment she thought these were the right words.

"What are you talking about! Life and death aren't such an easy thing! Don't talk as if you know when or how you could die!"

Which clearly wasn't.

"I'm sorry, mommy."

The mother daughter pair continued to hug for a moment, until...

"Ahem."

...the doctor came to give Fumio a medical report about her daughter.

"Well, we are here with the medical report of your daughter Ms. Seigi."

"And? What happened to my daughter, does it have something to do with her quirk?"

The doctor shook his head.

"No, nothing of that, your daughter didn't awaken her quirk just yet, the reason why your daughter fell unconscious, was because she entered a deep meditative state and was then interrupted by someone or something. Resulting in the deep shock state your daughter went in."

"A deep meditative state? But my daughter doesn't meditate?"

"You don't necessarily need to meditate to reach such a state, though it is with absolute guarantee the easiest, but a meditative state is just a higher form of concentration and apparently your daughter concentrated on something in such a manner that this could happen."

Fumio nodded hearing the explanation of the doctor, she didn't really know what to do with it.

"Akane, when did you concentrate on something?"

"During practicing my piano, I don't know why, but it felt like some notes were calling out to me to play them, but I couldn't reach them, so I 'dived' deeper to reach them, slowly deeper and deeper, until they were in reach, I then tried to grab them, hold onto them, but it was still difficult, so I still tried to go deeper, managing to grab the first notes of it, and after I slowly managed to form them to play them, something from the outside called out to me, after that I only remember breathing hard and hearing the voice of my mother."

Both of the adults in the room nodded at her explanation, they turned around and then left the room, by concentrating very hard Akane could make out the sound of a conversation from outside her room. She thought that it would be rude to eavesdrop on them after they tried not to let her hear it, so she just lay down and fell asleep again.

------------------------------------------------------------------

"What do you make out of that explanation, doctor."

The doctor thought for a moment before answering.

"Your daughter is the pianist that won the Musutafu competition, right?"

"What does that have to do with anything?"

"Well, you already know that your child probably is a pianist prodigy, so I interpret her words as the words of a prodigy that was just about to create their own music piece, before they were interrupted. I think she was in the process of writing a magnificent music piece, that was the reason for the deep concentration."

"Then what should I do if she is in that state again?"

"Nothing, let her be, let her get out of that sate by herself."

"Then what should I do if she is in that state for a prolonged duration of time?"

"I am sorry to say this, but I don't think you can do anything for her, as long as she is in deep concentration, but that doesn't mean you can't do anything, feed her enough food for the case if she is longer in that state, let her rest if she got out of it, but under no circumstances interrupt her during the time. She would just get another heart attack, and I don't think that is good for her already weak body, we don't want to give her a weak heart too, right."

Fumio nodded, the mother accepted the words of the doctor, it was a good thing that she developed such a passion for something, but as her mother she was still worried about her, Akane was pushing herself too hard and the girl knew it. The girl wouldn't rest if she didn't get ordered to it.

"Sigh, what kind of child did I get myself? I have to worry about her giving to much effort."

Fumio entered her daughter medical ward again, seeing her sleep soundly.

"I really wish that you would rest like this more often, my sweet little cinnamon roll."

------------------------------------------------------------------

It has been a few weeks since Akane got discharged out of the hospital again and the country competition for pianists was just around the corner.

"Akane, I am not sure if you should practice on the piano again, you remember what happened the last time?"

"Mommy, you worry too much, I am fine, I am picture of health again, well as healthy as I can be with this body, but you know what I mean! I recovered from the heart attack, and am fit as before without negative consequences, it has been a few weeks since I played and I don't want to get rusty, I don't want to disappoint teacher!"

Fumio just smile wryly at her daughter, if she really wanted to do something, not even she could stop it, so she let her be.

"Oh, Mommy, if you find me sitting in front of the piano without giving the slightest attention to my environment again, please don't interact with me, I don't want to get another heart attack."

Fumio was very surprised of her daughters' words.

"You listened in to the conversation between me and the doctor?"

"What conversation?"

"Never mind."

Fumio turned around and walked out of the room, it was scary sometimes how attentive her daughter was sometimes.

------------------------------------------------------------------

"Well Ms. Seigi I am here to pick up your daughter, to drive her to Tokyo, where the country level pianist competition is held this year, is your daughter ready?"

"Yes, Akane is almost ready, she just has to dress up a bit before going, luckily Tokyo is near Musutafu, she the drive isn't long."

"Yeah, that's really lucky, but if you want to let your daughter compete on the continental level, you must let her go out of county for a while."

"Of course, I know, it's just, I am glad that this time the place is near and the Asian pianist competition is still just in a few months."

"Understandable, a mother should always be worried about her daughter, but don't be worried, I swear as her temporary guardian that I will take good care of her Ms. Fumio."

"My, my, Mister Salieri, you really are a true gentleman."

He chuckled at these words.

"Mommy, I am ready! See you next week again."

"What a lively child."

"Do you think she will sweep the competition again?"

"Easily."

And Akane did just that, she just swiped the country level competition with ease. Though she herself must admit, that the competition was more challenging than expected, maybe the continental competition is going to finally give her a real challenge.

At the Seigi Residence:

Ring, ring, ring, katschak.

"Hello?"

"Oy, little sister is that your adoptive daughter I see on TV?"

"Big sister? Is that you, what are you watching?"

"The Japanese pianist competition and I see a girl named Seigi Akane sweeping the competition with her left hand, she perfectly fits your description of your adoptive daughter, is that her?"

"Yes, big sister, that is my daughter and she is an amazing pianist prodigy, don't you think so too? I am sure she is going to easily enter the world stage as pianist."

"Yeah, I am sure she could, real cutie you found. Hey what do you think she is going to call me if we meet?"

"Probably aunty or something like that, we must see when the time comes. Why are you asking?"

"Well, I am going back to Japan in a few months and I have no place to nap."

Fumio angrily looked at her phone.

"Akasuki? Didn't I already tell you more than enough that you are a responsible part of society?"

"Woah, Fumio already angry? Please! I know your house is big and I gladly pay you rent, so please let me live in your house for a while?"

"How about, no."

"Pretty please? You can't leave you big sis hanging like that, Fumio!"

"Kindly search for a place yourself, bye."

"WAIT!"

Katschak.

Fumio just sighed, why did she have to be the most responsible person between her sisters, that isn't fair.

Hmmm, I am wondering what theme is in her Soul.
