Chapter 9

Sunny batted her eyelids open.She sighed ,glad for the white ceiling.She wasn't back in her hell hole.

She was tired, lying on that bed for a week , despite the high dense mattress.She tried to raise her right had.Something poked on her inner elbow and the memories came flashing back.She was a mother now.She had a baby boy.But where was her baby?What time was it?She needed to feed him.

Sunny sat up and removed the needle attached to a tube extending to what looked like an IV tube.Her body felt sore but she had survived through hell for her baby.She would go through all that again for him.But where was he?

She cruised through the room giving no attention to it's elegance.It was probably a good sign that the door wasn't locked.So if she wasn't back in the basement where could she be?And where was her new born son?

The rails directly opposite her room indicated she was in an upstairs room.And they slanted toward her left .She assumed the stairs were that way so she turned right.

The room next to her's was slightly open and baby pink light rays lit the hallway.

Purely on instinct,Sunny pushed the door open and peeked inside the blue themed baby room.The baby crib was on the far wall which was more of a floor window with purple chandeliers hanging.

Lion was gently rocking the crib so the baby was probably awake.Her baby.Fresh tears brimmed her eyes as she moved toward the duo.

"Shhh . Don't cry little Leo,mummy is going to be okay.Your aunt,Anne,is taking very good care of her."Lion said in a hushed husky voice.Sunny paused a foot from them.Too terrified as a new realization hit her.What if Lion didn't want her as his son's mother? He'd taken the privilege of naming her baby from her,Leo.She'd never discussed what they'd name their children with Josef.But the name sounded brave and mysterious, not bad.

Her son,Leo,chose to get upset then and Sunny heard his small whimpers.Sunny's heart immediately warmed up.

"No,no... Don't cry.Come here.We'll get your bottle."

Lion turned holding the baby gently in his muscular arms.Sunny noticed for the first time he was bare chest and bare foot.Grey sweatpants hung low on his waist concluding his half naked look.He looked surprised to see her but expertly got rid of all expression.

"My baby..."Sunny whispered once the baby started wiggling in Lion's arms.He punched into the air breaking into a toothless wail."Let me feed him."Sunny looked up to Lion, swallowing the lump blocking air from her throat.

"Lion,please let me have him."The look on Lion's face was blurry as unshed tears pooled in Sunny's eyes.

"Let's get you seated first."He broke out of his trance .He seemed too shocked,like he hadn't expected to wake up at all.Which would be to his convenience.He'd have his son all to himself.
