"I wonder, Auntie San, isn't this little girl a bit too tender?" Aunt Zhang eyed the delicate six-year-old girl that Auntie San brought over, and no matter how she looked at her, she felt this six-year-old was softer than all other girls she had seen before.

Aunt Zhang had been married for several years, but she had not had a child yet. So, she planned to buy a girl and raise her first, hoping that doing so could bless her with a child of her own. But when buying a girl, she naturally wanted one who was well-behaved and capable, someone who could help with housework. Looking at the delicate girl that Auntie San brought over, Aunt Zhang was a bit hesitant. This kid, even in ragged clothes and a face full of dust, had tender skin on her hands. Aunt Zhang felt certain that this girl had never done any work since she was born.

"Aunt Zhang, it doesn't matter whether she's delicate or not, once she's at your home, you are her mother. She must do whatever you command," Auntie San obviously knew Aunt Zhang's concerns. You know, the girl in her hands is indeed delicate. When she first took her from someone else, she was wearing a very stylish dress; so exquisite one could tell it was cost a fortune. Therefore, she stripped her of her little dress and kept it for her own granddaughter, casually dressed her in her grandchild's old clothes, and brought her to this village.

Everyone in the village likely knew what Auntie San did for a living. If any family wanted a child, they would find her, regardless of whether it was a son or daughter, Auntie San could certainly get one. In the old days, Auntie San also used to procure brides for people. However, after a few of them ran away and she was chased around for repayment, she stopped too.

Having heard this, Aunt Zhang thought Auntie San made a valid point. Once at her house, the girl would be her daughter. She's going to control her, isn't she? Once she was in her home, the girl had to do her chores diligently.

Aunt Zhang thought, the girl has been beautiful since she was young, which isn't bad. If she grows up to be beautiful, she could also earn a considerable betrothal gift. Considering this, Aunt Zhang looked at the girl again and was much more satisfied in her heart. She raised her hand and beckoned at the little girl, asking, "What's your name, little girl? How old are you this year?"

The six-year-old girl stood next to Auntie San and hadn't spoken until now, her eyes, red as fire, showed that she had been crying for a long, long time, and had only stopped not too long ago.

The girl heard Aunt Zhang ask her something but didn't answer, instead, she got pinched and scolded by Auntie San. She glared angrily at Auntie San, before turning to Aunt Zhang, and defiantly shouted, "You who dares ask about my name?"

This outburst took the two adults aback.

Unsurprisingly, the little girl was then savagely beaten by Auntie San.

Auntie San didn't hold back at all. However, the girl remained stubborn and bit her lip, gritting her teeth and enduring Auntie San's punches without uttering a word.

In her heart, the girl felt like crying. Of course, she knew what her name was, but she had never told anyone because she knew that they were all bad people, traffickers that her parents had warned her about!

She was taken away, rode for a very long time on a train, transferred several times to different vehicles, and then rode for a long time on a tractor before arriving here. She was very scared. She wanted to return home, but she couldn't escape. Every time she cried out to go home to find her mom and dad, she would be severely beaten.

The six-year-old girl knew that maybe, she could never return to her big and beautiful home again!
