Star Wars: Pre the Prologue

Lotho Minor, a stormy and desolate planet of the outer territories, was known to the galaxy as 'the junk world'. Aptly named, Lotho Minor's surface was plagued by tumultuous mountains of junk that had accumulated after millennia of the planet being used as a dumping ground.

The planet was considered habitable, if barely and by a select few.

On the planet, the distorted steel of gutted, rusting ships rose out like spires amidst the great heaps of mechanical debris, and in the valleys inadvertently created between, an eerie foul-smelling yellow smog settled, robbing its inhabitants of their vision.

From beneath the planets encasement of junk toxic sludge bubbled up, and from it formed viscous streams of purple acid that pooled to create corrosive lagoons. The acid had claimed the lives many an unsuspecting traveller in their search for lost treasures.

Surrounding the planet was the wreck belt, a further layer of trash that, having been dumped near the planets gravitational field, that formed itself into a phoney asteroid belt.

Outside this faux asteroid belt, hurtling through the outer territories, was a small egg-like space pod; it seemed aimless, too small to be capable of hyperspace travel, and with no ship in sight, it was an oddity.

The pod flew within the gravitational pull of Lotho Minor and began to descend.

Down below, amongst the trash, Jent, a Junker cyborg; the native species of Lotho Minor, was scavenging, digging through the junk in a search for some usable cybernetic parts to replace his knackered right leg. He had injured the leg on a previous trip to the heaps when he slipped and fell on an old Beskad, a Mandalorian sabre. Not that Jent was complaining, the Mandalorian blade more than made up for the lost leg.

Jent methodically picked up and inspected the mechanical waste around him, ripping out the parts he needed to fashion himself a new leg and discarding what he didn't, casually flinging the useless scrap over his shoulder. He talked to himself, remarking with every piece of scrap found, "Junk, junk, junk... what's this? more junk?" and with each viable cybernetic part he found, Jent danced a little jig before returning to his search.

Jent heard it before he saw it, as the pod broke through the atmosphere, it created a tremendous shockwave of sound, like thunder, alerting Jent. "Owwhee, new junk, hahaha its all mine, mwahaha," he cackled madly to himself before dropping what was in his hands and limping his way towards the pod.

The pod had crash-landed inside the carapace of an old ship, atop a junk heap, and Jent skillfully made his way up to the drop site, his mechanical limbs whirling as he dexterously climbed up the faux mountain. "Ughh, I'm getting too rusty for this, I really need those new parts." Jent huffed out as he pulled himself to the heap's precipice.

Having scrambled his way to the top, Jent turned on his masks night vision function and started to search through the creaking remains of an old sith empire terminus-class ship, searching for the pod. Jent didn't like going into these old ships, namely because they had a tendency to collapse, but also because they unnerved him; each ship broadcasted a sense of malevolent eeriness that made the hairs stand up on what remained of Jent's original body.

But greed is a powerful motivator and Jent had always been a risk-taker, so he soldiered on.

After searching for some time, Jent found the pod hovering amongst the scrapped innards of the cockpit room, humming gently as it did so. Jent made his way towards the pod, cautious and fearful; not knowing if the pod had an active defence system. He pulled out his spear and tapped the pod, generating the clear clank of colliding metal, before jumping back. Seeing no threatening responses to his probing, he got a little braver and walked up to the pod, inspecting it. "Hmmm, this isn't junk, it looks almost... new," Jent said in awe.

"Lucky, lucky, lucky" Jent did a victory dance, his robot limbs pumping into the air as he jumped and spun on the spot.

"Pshhkk," the sound of air releasing; the pod opening. Jent fell back, and surprised at the sudden sound, he sat on the ship's rusted deck in a daze.

A moment passed and realizing that he wasn't dead, Jent got back to his feet before peering into the pod. He was shocked by what he saw. A child: small, pale, and with two little horns poking out from its matte black hair, it was the first offworlder that Jent had ever seen.

The child looked up at the cyborg alien that was Jent and spoke in a language unheard of in this galaxy, "The f*ck is this?"

Let me know what you think.

I've got three ideas for fanfiction that I'm toying with this being one. The Magic Blue Box a mix of Harry Potter, Doctor Who and Sherlock. And Menagerie, an earth-like world where all the monsters from anime converge (think Tokyo Ghoul, Parasyte, Hellsing etc.)

If you see any errors let me know.
