I got a disciple

I have been thinking about something. I killed 12 people. It didn't even take much time and the cleanup was easy. Aura didn't complain about killing people. Have we become something other than humans? I mean, Aura isn't an actual human but I am a human. I want to believe that.

When it comes to this matter, I become strangely attached to my humanity. We are currently at that boy's house. It's rundown on the outside and like a ruin on the inside. It's a safety hazard.

I utilize my <Spirit > once again to fix this house as much as possible. I fixed it from within and this house is already 50 years old. This type of construction doesn't last very long but this house has managed to do so.

That boy had fainted so I laid him down next to his sister.

"Honey, what are thinking? You look serious." (Aura)

"Oh..just about my actions. Am I really not a human anymore?"

"Honey, the moment you became a harbinger, you were not a human anymore. You are a human if we consider your birth and physical traits. But your mind is that of a harbinger. You stopped thinking about a normal human a long time ago." (Aura)

"You gave an oddly believable answer. So, I have completely become a harbinger."

It kinda shocks me that I didn't notice such change in me. And the boy woke up.

"Thank you."

He sat up and thanked me. He's oddly calm. I thought kids his age would freak out and scream a lot or run away.

"You are calm for someone your age. Do you remember anything?"

"I remember this much that you saved me from that demon. Thank you for saving me."

He is thanking me but his hands are clasped tight. Like he is frustrated.

"Are you frustrated? Are you angry with yourself?"

He looks at me with a shocked face. Looks like I hit the bullseye.

"Don't be. It's not wrong to ask for help. You just have to improve yourself and overcome your weaknesses. If you do that, you will need assistance less and less. After a while, you can help others as well."

He relaxes his hands. He is perplexed but it's okay to be perplexed.

"I am Clive Belmont. And this here is my wife, Aura Belmont. What's your name?"

I give my name once again. I did announce my name once before however he was in condition to pay attention to that.

"My name is Aldo Reed. And this is my sister, Alyssa Reed." (Aldo)

He is polite and has good manners. I wonder what happened to them.

"I have treated your sister as well. She is fine now."

I took care of her curse off screen. It was nothing special. Just a pesky little curse which will make it harder for you to stay awake. But if it persists for long, it will turn into eternal sleep curse. In medical terms, it can be called a comatose state.

Aldo has his eyes wide open.

"I didn't know you can dispel curses." (Aldo)

"It's easy. Once you get the hang of it, it's easy. She is still weak from malnutrition though. So she needs plenty of rest and nutrition."

Aldo is confused. Well, nutrition is probably a term this world doesn't have.

"What will you do now?"

"I don't know. I had to steal from others on that demon's orders to keep my sister and me alive. But now he's gone. My sister is healed as well. So, what should I do?" (Aldo)

"How old are you?"

I didn't ask his age though.

"I am 9 years old." (Aldo)

It's his time to learn. He shouldn't do anything other than learn. The adults of this world have some terrible priorities.

"What happened to your parents?"

"My father died last year. My mother left us alone and went to another man." (Aldo)

"Pretty common. Hmm…no relatives as well, I take it?"

"Yes. Both my parents were disowned by their families. I don't even know who my grandparents are." (Aldo)

It's a dead end. I look at Aura and she said why not. She understood my thoughts.

"Aldo, from now on, you are my disciple. I will educate you and train you to be stronger."

He becomes perplexed after hearing this.

"How can I become your disciple? I won't be able to pay the tuition." (Aldo)

"No need. I will teach you for free and I will even look after your sister. She is around 5 isn't she?"

"Yes. She became five this year." (Aldo)

"That's perfect. My daughter is the same age as her. They will get along well and you want to be stronger too, don't you?"

He thinks for a moment. But then looks at me with determination in his eyes.

"I will become your disciple. I want to be stronger. Strong enough to help others who need help." (Aldo)

"Now that's a good answer. First, let me introduce you to my family. It's an important event after all."

It's lunchtime so Fiona should be back at home. Let's introduce Aldo and Alyssa to them.

"Aura, can you carry Alyssa?"

"Okay. There we go." (Aura)

She gently picked Alyssa in her arms. Alyssa didn't wake up and snuggled up to Aura.

"She is just like Eden when I pick her up like this." (Aura)

She seems to be having fun. I have fixed their tattered clothes and cleaned them using <Spirit >. Aldo didn't notice it.

I don't want to walk to home from here so I opened a gate went home. Of course Aldo was surprised and a bit hesitant at first but that's for later.

I didn’t want to add this to the story but a disciple is a must for an isekai, isn’t it?
