Chapter 2: Meeting the Family

I must have slept for about an hour or so because when I woke up my eyes lazily landed on a group of three people who wore similar relief filled smiles.

" Mummi ,mummi , Iba Ish finely wakey " repeated a little brunette boy in his happy chap voice. He seemed to be around the ages of 3 /4.

A pretty medium height women in Black and White with her Raven curls just like mine were put up in a tight bun, giving her an Elegant Workaholic outlook, smiled lovingly at the little boy with tears brimming her chocolate brown eyes responding to him, " Yes Colton, your sister is awake now don't make too much noise okay " she told him.

" Okay Mummy, I won't" he cutely replied with a hint of a frown, but I smiled back at him, and he grinned showing me his well-developed teeth filled baby mouth.

Besides them was another older version of Colton with Brunette Afro curls. He must have been about 6 ft 3 because he was towering behind this pretty lady. He seemed to be two or three years older than I was. He smiled at me, and I returned the gesture but went back to my confused look.

" Waiba Hunny, the doctor told us everything and so I'm going to introduce each one of us so that you're familiar with our names " the women spoke up before looking at me as though asking for permission. I gave her a nod and she continued," I'm your mother sweetheart - Isabella Taylor's. This is Zackery Taylor's and this little noisy one is Colton Taylor's - they are your brother's sweetheart."

Realization suddenly dawned upon me as I joined the dots and realized that the names on my cast belonged to my mother and two brothers. I assume the floppy smiley face was drawn by Colton. I smiled as I pictured my apparent little brother drawing that smiley face on my cast. He was such a mood and I loved him already.

I snapped out of it realizing that I wasn't alone in the room. I glanced at my supposed family and gave my apparently mother a nod. She seemed content with my smile and went on talking away.

" Do you remember, or can you recall ever meeting us or living with us?"

I had seen a flash of hope in her chocolate eyes, but I had to tell her the truth.

"I'm sorry but I really don't remember anything. You guys do seem familiar but that's as far as it goes. I can't seem to recognize or recall living, let alone being a happy family with you guys " I sadly replied while she nodded her head and came closer towards me.

" It's okay sweetheart, I understand. We're here for you and we'll get through this together as family okay.

Right boys? " She turned and glanced at her boys - well my brother's, they both nodded their heads before Colton spoke up,'' Shmiley shmiley Iba, 'm here for you and famuly is gonna be ztjere for youu " I couldn't help but lean down and Pat his brunette soft hair, " Thank you Colt, can I call you that? " I asked him, and he jumped filled with excitement and he nodded away and blurted out, " Yayyyy yes yes Iba."

I looked at the women as she spoke up, " You used to call him that and he must have missed you calling his name. "

"I see. " Wow at least I'm making progress. Soon I'll be out of here and back to my normal life - well other than being in this hospital where I feel like I'm on a constant search for my identity. We spoke quite a lot even though I wasn't entirely comfortable being around them as they seemed familiar but strange at the same time.

I learnt that Zackery is actually a second-year student in Uni and his studying Biokinetics and I was really amazed at his choice of study because not everyone has that strong urge like he does to study Biokinetics. In time I shall ask him all about it, like his choice for selecting that Field of study and how he got to know about it. He's actually a very fun person to hang around and he seems crazy when he's with Colt. I mean who wouldn't?

Colt is just a whole mood; I mean at the age of 4 (apparently his turning 5 in about 2 months' time but he has a slight lisp and that's the reason why his words come out half formed when he speaks.

I also learnt that I finished Matric a year ago and was supposed to have applied this year because I was working at this Law Firm as a receptionist. Apparently, I wanted to take a break and didn't want to waste time sitting at home doing absolutely nothing. I was shocked that I actually actively went ahead with my crazy thinking but luckily, I have some money saved up so yayyy lucky me.

When it was time to leave, Zackery asked me to refer to him as Zack than his full name, to which I grinned and told him, "Sure thing Zackery" just to annoy him further.

He glanced at me with a look that said I'm only letting you go this time because you're in a hospital ward, otherwise it was going to be you and I in a combat. He gave his mischievous knowing smile as though he had it all figured out.

Colt on the other hand came up to me and gave me a side hug which I gladly returned. " Be shafe Iba and keep shmiling , I love you " he completed his simple sentence with a grin on his face. I gave him a peck on his chubby fluffy cheeks, and he blushed like a girl lol. He's just tooo cute.

" Dude, I'm sorry in advance nah. I just hope you don't come for me once your memory comes back. I just had to do it because daayummmn she was it for me " said Zack addressing me as "dude" which is really cool because I was going to address him as such but decided against it because I mean I just met him today. He replied with a hint of a mischievous yet a pity smile playing on his lips.

I looked at him confused but figured he had something to do with a girl who was either my friend or someone I didn't like, and he went ahead with God knows what, but I shall find out sooner or later.

"I hope it ain't anything bad cuz if it is than boy, you're in trouble, BIG TIME " I said the last part sternly just so he could get the message loud and clear.

He simply smiled before our mother who had been busy on her phone making arrangements for my return home looked up at us and said, " Already at each other's throats I see. Just don't drive me crazy with your usual bantering kiddos " she simply replied.

As they left, I couldn't wait to get home and just rest a bit before getting to know the world and the workings of this world. I wish only for the best and nothing more.
