Moonlight Element

"One way to become stronger at a faster rate is aiding your body in absorbing the energy the moonlight emanates. The more you do it the more your body gets more accustomed to doing it passively, on its own." After Max took a seat next to him beside the window Ernie explained, giving Max information about the process.

"Isn't this meditating but with extra steps?" Max thought out loud and Ernie was able to hear him.

"You can think of it this way as it shares the same principles, but instead call for the strange energy the moonlight brings and not your awakened element." Ernie shrugged off the rudeness Max presented in his speech; he wasn't expecting much of the latter anyway.

"I'll get to it then," Max said nonchalantly but his heart rate gave another idea of how he felt.

'It's like another element? Werewolves dual-wield?' Max thought as he closed his eyes, concentrating on the world around him.

Dual-wielding elements could be done theoretically but was practically impossible. The reasons weren't drawbacks of cultivating two elements but when cultivating an element, the affinity of the other element slowly diminishes until the certain element isn't attracted to you anymore.

Max concentrated and as he did, he was able to see the darkness element particles that he was already accustomed with.

'This is strange' Max thought as he furrowed his eyebrows, trying to catch an unfamiliar feeling as Ernie explained it.

"I don't feel anything else other than my normal element," Max admitted shortly after, he didn't search for long but it was enough for him to get an idea.

"What do you mean? Moonlight Element was easily distinguishable for any werewolf that ever existed!" Ernie raised his voice as he thought that Max was joking with him.

"I-I'll try again… I just told you as normally I should've been able to sense it already right?" Max felt judged at that moment by Ernie but he knew that it wasn't his fault for doing so. A werewolf not being able to feel the moonlight element wasn't heard of after all.

He closed his eyes once again before concentrating, feeling all the darkness elemental particles surrounding him, forming a white coat around his body.

'Hmm?' Max thought as he looked at the numerous particles surrounding him, such a feeling making him perplexed.

While he concentrated, Ernie was also examining the particles around Max and he as well felt flabbergasted seeing all of the moonlight elements in the room gather around Max.

'How can he not feel them? It looks like his affinity is extremely high after all…' Ernie thought, elements didn't normally surround a living being unless it was either an individual meditating or someone had a high affinity for a certain element, making the element particles surround him constantly.

'Max, can you try absorbing some darkness elements from around? It seems like your affinity for it increased by leaps and bounds and I think I know what is happening' Matt advised Max while checking out what he was feeling, they were connected through a contract after all.

After Max heard Matt's instruction, he slowly pulled only one particle from the white curtain, absorbing it in his body which instantly started burning up.

'Seems like it after all…' Matt said but he was interrupted by Ernie's voice.

"C-can you sense them now?" He asked with a slightly trembling voice, his forehead presenting multiple beads of sweat upon looking at Max.

"Yes, I do… Thank you for your guidance" Max said with his eyes still closed, not being able to see Ernie's astonished face.

'As I wanted to say before being rudely interrupted…' Matt then continued. 'It seems like werewolves don't know that the darkness element and moonlight element is the same, it's just that shapeshifters call it moonlight element while humans call it the darkness element.'

'After thinking about it this seems plausible, it's rare for an individual to unlock the darkness element as humans call it. Now imagine being born a werewolf or being transformed into one and also have the affinity for it. If you were a born werewolf then it would just seem like you didn't have an affinity for any of the elements and the chances to be transformed into one while wielding this exact element is surely slim.' Matt shared his opinion with Max and they both found it reasonable.

'Now it also makes sense why the particle colors aren't grey or any dark color but instead white' Max felt like a revelation hit him, he always thought about it while not having anything to do and now was given the exact answer.

'It might be so' Matt said, agreeing on the possibility.

'This means I am like… a perfect werewolf!' Max exclaimed happily, almost saying it out loud but he was able to refrain himself.

He began absorbing all of the particles around him at an amazing rate. He was able to gather around five to ten particles a minute before but now it all changed as he was able to now gather more than fifty particles even before the first minute was up.

Ernie was looking at Max completely dumbfounded. He didn't know what happened but Max began gathering all the moonlight particles around his at an impossible rate at which not even him, an omega rank wasn't able to.

'I don't think that even Bryce or Dylan are able to do something like this…' He said to himself, not wanting to disturb Max from his enlightenment.

A few minutes pass by and Max continued absorbing all of the particles from the surroundings while Ernie observed him throughout the process. Max felt his body burn at an impossible temperature and for each particle that gathered inside his body it increased; a few minutes was all he could manage.

He stumbled out of the chair suddenly, hitting the floor hard while scratching his body so harshly that blood began seeping out of the wounds he created with his nails.

"Agh!" Max sobbed as he hugged himself tightly, he couldn't do anything about it because even while scratching the searing pain not ceased in intensity.

"What is happening Max?!" Ernie reacted quickly as he kneeled right before Max.

"It burns" Max bawled up while tears of pain fell from his face.

Ernie looked around instantly, before spotting the door to the bathroom. A simple idea brewed in his mind; opening the door while improving his speed through his wind magic.

He turned around, disappearing, and appearing right before Max once again in an instant. He grabbed on of Max's hands in an attempt to move him but he retracted his hand as quickly as he placed it on him.

"What?!" Ernie exclaimed as he felt a burning pain all over his hand as well. 'His body temperature is extremely high, I think his insides are even melting' Ernie said as he once again grabbed Max. He didn't care about his skin being burned, all he wanted to do now is stop Max from most probably burning to death.

He grabbed him and hastily pulled him in the bathroom, placing him in a bathtub. He looked around before seeing the water crystal they used for water. The water poured on Max as this was Ernie's only way he thought of being able to help.

Steam began rising as sizzling was heard upon Max's skin intercepted with the cold water pouring from the water crystal, the warmth inside him slowly diminishing just a little.

„What is happening over there?!" Mark asked loudly, he was woken up by Max's groans in pain and he was able to realize that he was feeling intense pain.

‚This is becoming annoying' Ernie said as he dropped the water crystal inside the bathtub, rushing towards the other bathroom door; holding it in place.

Hope everyone had a great day, there isn't a lot to say about this chapter as it mainly focused on the moonlight element as we call it.

All I can say is this, Max has it kinda easy as a werewolf.

Please do vote for my novel if you have the stone to spare, thank you everyone for all the support. The novel gathered eleven power stones this week and it is amazing.

Thanks again and I hope you enjoyed today's chapter.
