概要

"Say, Odette, do you think you are the one playing the game or being played?" °°° Odette Albinius loved thrill, and fear in people's eyes supplied her with that. However, soon enough, she had gotten bored of that and decided to raise Adrian— the one who had murdered her in her previous life. In her last life, Odette was a cold-hearted murderer and sought after joy— a characteristic visible within Albinius family. As for Adrian, he was merely a slave brought and tortured by her family. Odette Albinius found it amusing how he rose to the top on his own and managed to kill her off in her last life. That's why, given the second chance, she wanted to see more of this talent of his. Adrian was the descendent of the Demon Lord— a creature loathed and feared by humans. What would happen when she finds out about it? Will the love between them be successful? Will she able to endure the little too possessive Demon Lord?

Chapter 1The Death

"First and foremost, this is a work of fiction, and no correlation should be made with living people or incidents. The author doesn't support any of the ideology or the relationship— friendship or romantic— being presented in this story. This was merely written for entertainment sake, not to be followed and used as an ideal. There are many things that are wrong in this novel morally, and therefore, don't let this novel influence you."

The chair rocked backward and forward while a finger tapped on the wooden handle, creating a constant noise. A lady was seated upon the chair, and held within her hand was a glass of wine.

As Odette Albinius moved her hand softly, the wine inside the glass swirled. Cladded in red, a smirk formed on her crimson lip, and her eyes held amusement in it.

The uproar that went on outside did not concern her; she remained detached from it. There was someone she was waiting for; it was about time for that person to arrive.

"Ah! This is too unfortunate. I at least wanted to see the moon one more time."

As soon as those words escaped from her mouth, the door to the room was pushed open, and footsteps were heard. That did not faze the expression on Odette's face and calmly turned her head.

Adrian— the man stood before her; that man had no surname. Bloodthirst was visible in his eyes. Knowing that it was directed at her, her lips curved up further.

From head to toe, he was dressed in black, and his hand gripped tightly on to the hilt of his sword. A light blue jewel shone on the hilt, and blood dripped down the blade.

Odette was well-aware of how that sharp blade will be covered with her blood as well, and a chuckle left her mouth at that.

There were no hard feelings towards the boy. In fact, she found herself being interested at him; the boy was filled with wonders. From being nothing, he had managed to reach such a position; it was truly remarkable.

"I was growing impatient waiting for you," Odette voiced out.

Those blue eyes of his glowered at her, adding on to her amusement. In a way, being hated by such a man did not seem bad to her; the fact that he had taken the initiative to kill her personally made her feel better.

"Is everyone else dead?" she asked, raising one of her eyebrows.

However, her words were met with no answer from. That did not surprise her; there was no way he would want to talk to someone like her— the one responsible for ruining his life.

There was no remorse she felt for him. She was strong, and he was weak. It was a norm for the weak ones to get trampled on by the stronger ones— just like how she was about to get killed by him.

There was no escaping this; she was well-aware of that. Before dying, she wanted to keep her pride intact, and dying by his hand was an honour for her.

Before the next words were able to leave her mouth, he raised his sword and drove the blood through her chest. The movement was abrupt and happened before she was able to properly process it.

Then again, even if she would have been able to see it properly, she doubted that she would have avoided it.

"Ah! So, this is what death feels like," she stated.

Odette thought that death was painful; that was what she had assumed, seeing how so many people cried for living. However, she felt nothing like that; in a way, it was as if she was finally freed from everything.

Was it because she was numb to the pain? Is that why death did not matter to her? The death was not as bad as people made it sound like; it was simple— very much less complicated than living.

Odette found her consciousness drifting away, and as those cold eyes of his stared at her, she said, "You impressed me, and that's why, I have given you the chance to kill me. I really regret not rearing you."

After that, barely time passed before she closed her eyes, and Adrian immediately pulled away his sword from her chest while the blood splattered.

Her breathing had stopped, and Odette Albinius was dead.

"Trash," he mumbled before turning his back on her.

Venomous Empress Reborn

# scumtorturing # rebirth She was a daughter of the general’s family and a gentle woman. She fell for Prince Ding and offered to be his wife. After supporting him for six years, she became his empress. After risking being a hostage in a foreign country, she returned five years later to find that she no longer had a place in his imperial harem. Lying in his arms, the new consort said with a sneer, “Sis, now that the country is stable, it’s time for you to die.” Her daughter died a tragic death and her son was removed as crown prince. The Shen family had been loyal, but they ended up being slaughtered. Shen Miao never thought that their marriage and mutual support all this while would end up being just an act Prince Ding put on! Prince Ding said, “On account that you’ve been with me for twenty years, I’ll allow you to die with your entire body intact. Now you may thank me and hang yourself to death.” Before she hung herself, Shen Miao made a resentful oath, “When I perish, I will haunt you day and night!” She was reborn as her fourteen year old self when the tragedies had yet to occur and her family was still intact. She was still the delicate and elegant daughter of a general’s family. Her relatives were evil, her cousin sisters were vicious and ruthless, and her aunties were eyeing her possessions. She had to protect her family, take revenge, and get back what belonged to her. In this life, she would be the last one standing! However, the Xie family’s young marquis, an unruly youth, pushed her up against the wall and said arrogantly, “Remember, the world belongs to you, and you belong to me!” The thirteen cities of You State… belong to you. The city of Dingyuan in Mobei… belongs to you. Yuzhou by the Yangtze River, the East Sea of Dingxi, the Green Lake of Lin’an, and Luoyang City… they all belong to you. If they all belong to me, what will you take, Xie Jingxing? Hmm… you. At first, he said impassively, “There has always been a clear distinction between the Shen and Xie family. For the Shen family’s daughter to suddenly show us goodwill, she must have ill intentions!” Then, he said calmly, “We're all on the same boat. Shen Miao, behave yourself. Who would have the audacity to force you into a marriage while I’m around?” After that, he said proudly, “Overthrowing an empire isn’t that hard. My dear, how shall we divide this great piece of land?” Finally, he waved his hand domineeringly. “Sweetheart, dividing them is too much work. Forget it! They’re all yours, and you are mine!” Shen Miao yelled, “Get out!” A domineering empress who was reborn and a young delinquent marquis. Both leads are righteous and they dote on each other.

The Farm Girl's Charismatic Fortune

By Xishui River, there lived a family with the surname Ruo, whose luck was so disastrously poor that it was as if misfortune was possessed by their very souls. When other families had bountiful harvests, the Ruo Family harvested not a single grain. Their planted vegetables were devoured by insects, their chickens got chicken plague, their pigs got swine fever… Despite the household being full of strong men, they were either mad, crippled, or blind… What would have been a family of great prospects became the poorest within ten miles. The only thing that others envied about the Ruo Family was its thriving male members! The old lady of the Ruo Family had given birth to six sons, who then gave her four grandsons. She dreamt day and night of having a granddaughter. When she finally got a grandchild, to her dismay, the child was mentally disabled: at over three years old, she still couldn’t speak or walk, couldn’t even eat or relieve herself without help. Everyone thought the Ruo Family would never turn their fortunes around in this lifetime! That was until the half-old three-year-old mentally disabled child suddenly called out, “Mom…” The heavens began to change. The world began to turn mysterious. In the Ruo Family’s courtyard, the persimmons ripened overnight. The vegetables in the fields, nearly nibbled bare by insects, turned lush and green. The old hen that had never laid eggs suddenly started laying… While others faced famine, the Ruo Family’s granary was full. The eldest son was no longer mad, the second son was no longer crippled, the third son was no longer blind… The old lady of the Ruo Family, with her hands on her hips, laughed heartily to the sky, “Who says my Xuanbao is a dimwit? She’s clearly a treasure of blessings!” (This is a farming novel with a hint of fairy charm, where the female protagonist in a previous life was a just-awakened daylily that has reincarnated as a human.)
