Chapter two

She cries in pain, looking down. That's when I notice all the blood. It made my stomach turn.

"Zare, take my hand, I will help heal you."

"I will never join your pack Alpha," she yells at me.

"You did just call me Alpha Adagyudi."

She rolls her eyes. "I need no one and don't call me Love again," she yells.

"Fine," I threw my hands in the air. I will never be able to tame this wolf, she is not like Kiara.

I turn to leave, not wanting to leave her alone and hurt. I have to remember what the tree said. This girl could possibly destroy my pack. And yet I am drawn to her.

"Ajay," her sweet voice chimed in my ear. I know that I would do anything to protect this girl, for one she fascinates me. Her voice sent a blade to my heart. Just hearing her say my name sends quivers down my spine.

Turning to face her, I see the look of fear in her face.

"Zare, you don't have to join the pack, let me help you get better, and then you can leave."

This will certainly be the best option, she can't stay around the pack and be destined to be its downfall.

She nods, offering me a sweet smile.

Present time.

I see Chetan approach me, he seems on edge. I know Zare is his mate. I have seen that look many times. He watches her like he's ready to take a bullet for her. Every time he kisses Kiara, he looks over at Zare. I know he wishes it was her.

I also don't want to see Kiara hurt, she loves Chetan. Whenever she speaks of him, she tells how perfect he is and how he could have hung the moon. In addition, I have to consider my feelings about Zare. I feel so protective over her. I am crazy in love with her, and it only took a week. My mind wonders if knowing her future is why I feel so close to her. The apples may taste sweet, but the knowledge is deadly.

"Do you need a Zombie check?" Chetan asks.

I nod. I know he needs some space from Zare.

My eyes watch Zare, she sits around a large hollow oak tree. She smiles, I feel like she is enjoying nature. She appears so peaceful, lost in happiness.

The girl who's loved most, the tree's voice echoes in my mind. It makes me wonder if Chetan, being Zare's mate, will break the pack apart because of my love for her.

"She stole your heart too?" Dev asks.

Lost in thought, I didn't hear him approach.

I shake my head. "She is interesting to me."

"Chetan too." Dev tells me.

I smile to myself. I know Chetan is keeping the fact Zare is his mate a secret, so word doesn't reach Kiara.

"Why is Chetan interested in her?"

"He thinks it's just because they are twins."

"Yeah, probably."

I hope Chetan isn't interested in his mate, because I am ready to make Zare mine.
