Chapter- 11[D-Rank]

Albert is a middle-aged man having a body full of muscles that even the white shirt he is wearing looks like it's about to burst open and a scar coming from his forehead to his left eye. He is also bald but has a small beard on his face giving him the perfect villain persona.

His surprised expression... would scare many people and looks like some people around me are already scared. I continued to look at him as his expression changed to a serious one and after contemplating his thoughts for a minute, he finally asked in a serious tone,

"Are you really Kyle?"

Nodding my head at his question, I answered,

"Yes, Mister Albert."

"And you Level up?"

He asked me in a bewildered tone, I understand the reason but can't they already believe that I level up...? Is it that much of a surprise?

But I still answered his question while nodding my head,

"Yes."

Albert showed a frown for a second before releasing a sigh,

"I don't know what happened to you kid, but good for you that you level up. So, Follow me."

Albert should have seen many cases throughout his life, so he quickly got over my Level up. Albert stood from his seat and indicated me to follow behind him.

Nodding at his words, I followed him in the back of the building where the things related to Rank Promotion, New registration are done.

Upon entering there, I saw a crystal placed at the center of the room and many people working on the sides of the crystal and there are also many hunters touching the crystal under the supervision of some staff.

The crystal is Appraisal Crystal, it was a very large crystal that was founded from one of the SS-Rank dungeons, this crystal was cut into several pieces with the largest piece held by the Headquarters. There was not much description available about how this crystal works but I think Eve should know about that.

Albert indicated I to touch the crystal and I did making the crystal shone a little and Albert looked at the clipboard in his hand on which some papers are pinned and his expression turns more and more shocked.

This paper must have shown my status...well, I hope they quickly do their work as I still have to visit the University.

After looking over my status, and returning his expression to the normal, Albert put my ID in one of the machines which looked like a giant printer, and in a minute my ID came out of it, but the color of it changed now.

There are different colors for different ranks,

E-Rank. Black

D-Rank. Blue

C-Rank. Green

B-Rank. Red

A-Rank. Silver

S-Rank. Golden

And my ID now looked to be blue, meaning D-Rank, taking it from Albert who passed it, I exited the place. Only someone above C-Rank needs to go through an actual exam like a fight with some old hunters or something like this.

My eyes again darted towards the place where skill books are being sold but I shifted my gaze when I spotted a shop selling round crystal orbs with different patterns floating in it.

These Orbs are something which drops rarely from the monsters, they could be of any type, but the easiest way to define them is, they are things that increase your stats permanently. The stats could be of any type from STR, INT, VIT, or anything. There are even some super-rare orbs that directly upgrade your skill level...something which is found even less.

They will be helpful for Emma and she is already saying that she wants to enter the dungeon. And if she had enough strength then I will be able to freely venture into the dungeons.

Looking around for some time, I exited the building and made my way out of the area, and called a taxi while maximum everyone present there looked at me with some surprise and awe.

"Hey! Is he some new Ranker?!"

"No! He looks like a star!"

"I wonder why we haven't heard of someone like him?"

Ignoring the murmuring and the looks pointed at me, I entered the taxi telling the driver to drive to my University, during the drive, I opened my phone checking the Hunter Forum for some news...but all it showed one thing...

Hunter A: What?!

Hunter B: Did he really level up?

Hunter C: Is this a Scam?

Hunter D: What a good joke to see right after clearing a dungeon!

A sigh escaped my lips, news sure travels fast and now maximum hunters living in this city will know about me leveling up...

'Looks like those hunters that were there before are spreading the news.'

Shaking my head and putting this thing in the back of my head, I thought of my future action. If I want to become even stronger, then I will have to leave this city. The number of gates in the area here is way too little than in some big cities.

The city I am living in is City-Z, the names of cities all around the world were changed after the first wave from the monsters...as many more cities were created by the people running away from the monsters. And the best city for my action would be...City-G...but I should first clear the dungeons in this city to have more control at the same time increase my strength.

In around 40 minutes of the drive, the taxi stopped in front of a giant gate. Paying the money to the driver I entered through the gate and showed my student card to the guards and go on my way.

The whole university is divided into different sections with each having large buildings but the biggest one is the Hunter Department. They have around three to four buildings and also two giant football stadium-size training halls making this university the best place for people who wanted to become hunters in this city.

But my destination is the general department where you could choose the subjects which you want to study as I was mainly busy with the dungeons and I will remain the same. Making my way towards the General Department, but due to the sheer size of this whole place, it took me some time to reach that place while everyone continued to stare at me...and I even saw someone taking my pictures...like why can't they focus on their studies.

Looking at the building in front of me, I was about to take a step but I sensed someone coming towards me...looking at the girl who walked towards me with an embarrassing expression on her face while fidgeting with her fingers, I immediately knew of her identity, she is Sophia's best friend and someone that the old me, and maybe even the current me hates.

She is one of the people I met in my life having the worst character. She used to scorn me for being Sophia's boyfriend as I can't provide Sophia with many things due to the lack of money, but her stories are known around the dark circle of the whole university, about how she would sell herself for money and how frequently she changes her boyfriends...I even questioned Sophia about that but all I got was that she was being misunderstood by everyone...how could someone even believe in someone like her...I can't understand.
