This book consists of very long chapters. [2k-2.5k average words per chapter] ............................ Dave was a quiet man and a simple cook that worked in a local deli in a small town. One day a job opportunity comes knocking on his door which could be his ticket out of his simple and mundane life in his town. But things take a wrong turn when the job that he was so excited about turns out to be a trick played by supernatural forces to make him agree to play a game… Tricked and then kidnapped from normal life he is forced to play a part in a deadly marathon called the Race to the Top for the entertainment of the Gods. The rules of the Marathon were pretty simple, players chosen by the gods would be sent to another dimension comprising of 9 different worlds or floors. And the first one to cross the 9th floor successfully wins the game. Thrown into a world of magic and swords naive Dave constantly struggles to keep living and also witnesses a lot of atrocities committed just for the sake of entertainment of the so-called ‘Gods’. There are monstrous beasts in these worlds that could kill him with a flick of their paws while the locals of the world are all scheming and cunning bastards that wouldn't think twice before stabbing him in the back. Now armed with a system that could improve his overall stats as well as an inventory with limited face, he decided to fight off all of his adversaries head-on. Now all that is left to see is whether he would be able to make it to the Top. .............................................................................................................. Note- 1>The word count of chapters fluctuates between 1.6k to 2k words till chapter-11. Taking a whiff of my essence he groaned, “Your arousal is fucking killing me, love.” I reached up tracing the fabric of his shirt as the tingles intensified upset that this barrier separated me from touching his skin such that I wound up gripping it in response to the feel of his rough hands settling on my hips. At this point my breaths came out short, the air fumbling within my lungs the second his teeth nipped my earlobe whilst he pressed his body even more against mine. “Boss…?” a low voice muttered into the abyss reaching us to make the man himself stiffen and lift up his head taking his warmth with him whilst keeping me close. He scowled eyeing the poor victim, taking a peak over his shoulder expecting to find Leo or Daniel; I instead saw the face of another man whom I had never seen before look nervously between us. “What?!” he barked tightening his hold on me when I attempted to remove his hands feeling a bit conscious and unwilling to draw attention to our rather questionable position but unlike me, Zeus didn’t give a damn. “We have a situation,” he replied keeping his eyes focused on the ground. He scurried away once he was dismissed; he sighed in frustration blinking a few times to calm himself down and reached out to run a hand gently through his hair. It was strange seeing him do it when seconds ago I was close to running my hand through the loose strands but questions began flying inside at what the situation was. He looked back down at me, his tongue poking out to lick his lower lip stirring a side to me that was slowly gaining a voice and identity of its own. Looking away feeling flushed I felt his fingers on my throat denying the chance I needed to breathe, “I have to go,” he whispered rubbing gentle circles as his eyes bore into mine, tearing down my armor and dismantling the chains with a statement that left me feeling like jelly whilst a stream formed between my thighs making me forget what situation needed to be handled when he whispered, “Make no mistake my little gazelle, I will eat you…”

This labyrinth was a more precisely a maze built to make it impossible to go from one side to the other making everyone with insufficient influence and power a prisoner of their world. 15,000 years later on planet Cyrus, Van Magnus was at an orphanage with a few friends but no hope in life. Van Magnus was diagnosed with schizophrenia at 14 once it came out that he’s having auditory illusions after people started to notice his odd behavior and him not remembering what happened. After this his life in the orphanage took a turn for the worse to say the least.
