Meeting a stranger

When Liam opened his eyes, he was surrounded by beautiful trees and the sound of flowing water in the distance. The words chirping and the around peaceful environment.

When Liam tried to stand up, he fell back down. He tried again but it was to no avail, whatever he did he kept falling.

"Hahahahaha, you should have seen your face," A familiar voice said in Liam's head.

"Asshole. Why are you in my head?" Liam asked curiously.

"About your magic, remember you asked for gluttony magic," The man said.

"What is wrong with it?" Liam asked confused.

"Oh, nothing is wrong with it. I'm just here to tell you how to use it. You just need to stretch any of your hand and it will emit black smoke. Then any magic that the black smoke touches will be absorbed and it will appear in your grimoire and the magic you use will be better than the original. It can also change some parts to suit you or your current thoughts like a fire wall will be improved to a fire sphere. Since the fire wall only covers one side, it is improved to cover all sides. So technically you can use any magic you like. Healing, attack, defence and support. It depends on what you have 'eaten'. It can even eat time magic and space magic except for some attacks that travel through dimensions. You can only 'eat' those in the same dimension as yours. (This means that our MC is unable to 'eat' Yami's dark magic equinox). Any questions?"

"No," Liam replied.

When Liam tried to stand up, he stood up with no difficulty. As Gojo was walking through the beautiful forest, he came across this small brown house. (No our MC name will change to Gojo Satoru so it will be easier)

"Ah, hello there young one. Is there a reason you have to come here?" An old voice said behind him.

"No, I was just walking around when I saw this. I didn't mean to intrude," Gojo said nonchalantly.

'This boy's mana is far stronger than anything I have ever witnessed. He will become a very strong person in the future, it would be a shame if he died from the beast creatures.' The old man thought. "Where are your parents? A kid like you shouldn't be walking alone in the forest," He said with stroking his white beard.

"I don't have any, All I remember is waking up an hour ago, then I saw this house, then I met you," Gojo said trying his best to sound sad.

"That is truly unfortunate. How about you stay here until you old enough," The man said.

"Old enough? What do you mean?" Gojo asked confused and with a bit of curiosity.

"What you may have thought was a peace forest, this forest is crawling with beast creatures. Right now, you not strong enough to handle one of them so I will prepare if you ever come in contact with one," The man said thinking about how powerful Gojo would be in the future.

"I don't know, you seem like you wouldn't be able to handle a trained me," Gojo said jokingly. Gojo had his eyes closed when he felt a sharp pain in his stomach then came a brutal amount of force. Gojo coughed up some spit as he fell on his knees.

"The first lesson always stay vigilant and wary of your surroundings," The man said as he picked up Gojo from the ground.

"Oh, you still conscious? Looks like I'm getting a little rusty," The man said as he waited for Gojo to recover.

"Ok, you've had enough time to rest, now give me 200 push-ups," The old man said after a few minutes of Gojo resting.

Gojo slowly got in a push-up position as he lowered himself then pushed back up. On earth, he wouldn't even be able to do 5 push-ups, but now his body was different even if he was still a kid. Around 50 is when Gojo's arm started to get heavy. He successfully did three more pushups before falling on the ground.

"53 pushups, not bad for a weakling like yourself," The old man said provoking Gojo. His goal was to insult and provoke Gojo so that he would strive to be stronger and it was working because after hearing those words, Gojo got back up and started again.

Even with his arms feeling like they weighed a ton, Gojo managed to push through and do the rest of the 147 pushups. The old man had a pleased look on his face, as he looked at Gojo who was breathing heavily lying on the ground.

After laying on the ground, Gojo got up to see the man was still there. He gestured to follow him inside his house. Gojo followed to see a plain house with a few pictures on the wall and something on the stove.

"Who are these people in these pictures?" Gojo asked as he held it up. The two in the picture looked like an old man and a woman with black hair, green eyes, she had a slender body type, and she looked happy in the picture.

This made Gojo think of his grandpa and grandma when they were young. Oddly enough, the old man reminding Gojo of his grandparent in his past life.

"That right there was my wife, she had the brightest smile I have ever seen and she made my life better than what it was," The man said as he looked at Gojo whose body started to emit black smoke as if it was protecting it from any harm.

"What's wrong with you?" The man asked as he was surprised about the sudden change in Gojo.

'Did it already happen? I didn't expect it to happen now' Gojo thought as he closed his eyes and tried to bring the smoke back in.

"Maybe it has something to do with my magic," Gojo said as he placed the picture back where it was and looked at the old man.

The old man had white hair and a wrinkly face like every old person has, but this man was toned down. Gojo couldn't see any fat on the man.

"Your magic eh? How about tomorrow I show you how to do a spell. Don't worry, you won't need a grimoire for it," The old man said as he fixed two bowls of food.

As they ate, Gojo and the old man talked about themselves, well, mostly the man talked because he couldn't tell him he was from another world.

Gojo found out that the old man's name was Reiner and he had two kids, two boys that died from the beast creatures. His wife died from a bloodline sickness that her mother had, but instead of leaving her, he stayed by her side until the end.

Gojo could only wish his friends and family other than his grandpa could've done the same.
