Reincarnated as Poseidon

Dylan Hughes was a boy who lived almost all his life in a hospital. His life expectancy was only twenty years, so no one wanted to get too close to him only to watch him waste away. His only company were the nurses, doctors, and books he read while in his hospital room. One day he died in his sleep only to wake up in the body of his favorite god in his favorite book series. Watch what he does with his new lease on life! (Artwork is not mine) (I’ll update once or twice a week)

The Magus

"This was not in our fate", they say feverently.

"How many are there", I say a bit nervously.

"Only one, we do not have the ability to locate him", the Fates respond.

"How did he arrive?", I ask.

"He took possession of someone, although we can not find out who due to him not being of this world", they say.

"How can we stop more from coming?", I continue questioning.

"We need a sacrifice of a major god's worth of divinity", the Fates answer.

"D*mnit", I say and then teleport back to Atlantis.

.....

The sea is on fire.

The buildings of Atlantis crumble and Greek fire along with a strange mysterious black fire burn.

Although I want to help, my focus needs to be on finding the possessed person.

I have to locate Hecate to do that, but the communication rune that was connected to her was destroyed.

I cast a large area location spell that Hecate taught me while swimming full speed in my merman form.

Dead bodies and ruble litter the sea floor.

The spell directs my towards Hecate and I find her unconscious on the ground.

I wake her up with magic and she groggily looks at me.

"Who is it?! Who is the possessed one! Cast a divination spell!", I urge Hecate.

Although I don't know if Hecate is the possessed one she is my only choice.

White light pours out of her eyes as she chants an incantation.

Suddenly a sad a helpless look comes across her face and she says, "Delphin....it's Delphin, he is on Olympus."

"D*mn it, d*mn it, d*mnit!", a furious exasperated, and sad yell comes out of me.

Although I don't know for sure yet I still have to check.

I knock Hecate out and, tie her up to be safe, then flash to Olympus.

.....

Olympus is in ruins too.

The once white and gold majestic palace was gone and standing in the center surrounded by writhing gods was...Delphin.

Stellamaris is in it's not full powered state so he can't detect the true aura.

"D*mn it", another swear escapes my mouth.

I look sadly towards Delphin who has now turned to face me with a smile on his face.

"Poseidon!", Delphin says like he always does.

"I'm sorry ", I say while looking at him.

"You had a good friend didn't you?", the magus possessing Delphin said while looking at himself.

"Had some good memories with each other", he finishes.

He must have gotten Delphin's memories, but Delphin never knew about Stellamaris's god-slaying and soul destroying properties.

I don't know what to do.

If I kill him will Delphin's soul be erased too?

"No, focus", I steel myself.

The magus raises his hand and purple and gold eye appears.

Although I don't know what it does, I don't care, he needs to die now.

All the muscles in my body flex and in under a millisecond I am before him.

Stellamaris swings out, drawing a perfect curve in the air.

His head is taken from his body and golden blood draws and arc of a golden rainbow behind him.

Before the head even hits the ground it starts disintegrating and fading into nothingness. The eye fades along with him.

I feel like crying, but that can be done after everything is settled.

I finally take a look at the gods on the floor.

Before, my eyes were solely focused on....the magus, so I didn't really look at them.

The gods are my brothers, sisters, and Aphrodite.

I use a spell to wake them up, it seems like they were trapped in an illusion.

Hades is up first and the rest soon follow suit.

Hades tells me about how he came to Olympus as soon as he heard about the plan from his spy while I look up and down at the others.

"I am sorry", Zeus says quietly with an unreadable look on his face.

"Instead of having us all work together to get rid of him, I collided with him to kill you", Zeus finishes.

"So you knew! You almost d*mned us all", I say to him angrily.

"I will bear full responsibility for my actions", Zeus says solemnly.

I don't know hat to do anymore, nothing seems like the right decision to solve this.

I don't want to ask him to kill himself to solve it.

"The magus will all come here to kill us if we don't sacrifice a major God's worth of divinity", I say pensively.

"I will sacrifice half", Zeus says with the same unreadable, but sad looking expression.

Everyone else is silent for awhile, looking to see who will be the other one to sacrifice.

"You know what, only people involved will sacrifice. From what I've heard, Hestia had no part in it so she is exempted", I say.

"That's not fair!", Aphrodite responds, though Hera and Demeter keep their mouths shut.

"How is it not fair?", I ask.

Aphrodite looks at me, but doesn't have a response.

Zeus remains silent and Hestia looks nervous.

"We can split the portion sacrifice into three parts to make the half, since you played a lesser part, but you will have to take on a harsher punishment after", I say.

They struggle for a while but nod.

"I'll sacrifice too", Hestia adds in.

"Are you sure", Hades asks.

Hestia nods determinedly.

I then use magic to teleport us to the Morai.

.....

"Quickly, preform the sacrifice", I tell the Fates as soon as we arrive.

"Five shall sacrifice?", the young Fate asks.

"Yes, it is part of their punishment", I say while urging them to get started.

"The we shall begin", The Fates say at once.

They suddenly start chanting in a mysterious and ancient language—their voices melding into one.

The cavern trembles and a white light suddenly bursts out of Zeus eyes and mouth, flowing upwards to form a large glowing white ball.

The other four's eyes and mouth start doing the same and the same, but smaller glowing orbs of light go out towards the ceiling.
