Let's Work Together

I chose 'Yes' without hesitating, and my Elemental Aura flared up, scaring the group behind me. The bars all around my HUD were being pushed to overdrive as Vania displayed my Original Spell to me for my picking for this fine morning. I was getting hungry, so I went for an attacking move.

"Sir Velvet, come 'ere, will ya?!" I yelled as I turned my head to the group.

It was comical to see the entire group back off to leave the poor Knight standing in the front row. Sir Velvet swallowed a ball of saliva before rushing to my side.

"Oi! I told you that I can't fight anything now. I'm only here to give you an edge for your surroundings and height..." whispered Sir Velvet as another roar thundered the area.

"I need you to stop the Beast's assault on the Coast. Use your powers to brave the next attack from the sea serpent, and it'll give me a chance to slay the Storm Beast. You may be a weak Mage, but you are still a Glorybringer," I instructed as I donned my new armor.

The armor was more like an outfit since it was my blue dress with an armless blue vest with red outlines. I looked to my hands to see the only form of armor, golden metal gauntlets similar to a dragon's talon. I stretched my fingers and felt Elemental Energy building up within my fingertips.

Sir Velvet sighed before stepping to my side and shooting his right arm towards the sky. Another roar rang throughout the area, and tiny trembles caused the waves to react differently to the upcoming storm.

"I guess I have no choice then... I will help you the best that I can. But killing the thing is a whole other problem for you to handle," offered Sir Velvet as green Elemental Aura began to surround his tiny figure.

I nodded confidently as I chose the Seventh Order to be ready in my arms.

"Notice. All systems are ready to go to unleash the Seventh Order. Doing so will result in all bars dropping to 40%."

Fine by me. At least it's better than an all-out system wipe.

"Tales of Mesopotamia... Where the Age Of Gods meets their end and Humans will thrive after the catastrophe," I recited as I opened both palms and concentrated on summoning the spell.

A golden stone book appeared in my palms, and I caught it in the nick of time. There were inscriptions of runes all over the stone book, but I paid no heed to it as I heard Sir Velvet beginning his defensive spell.

"For the Elements of Earth and Water... And the stars above us to link this spell to the Upper Realms of the Gods," chanted Sir Velvet as streams of green Elemental Energy swarmed his opened right palm.

"The City Of Ancient Babylonia. The Kingdom of Uruk that was once ruled by the legendary Gilgamesh, King Of Heros."

The runes from the book shined in bright, golden light before jumping out of their resting place to surround me like a giant hula hoop. The ends of my cloak started to lift as my Original Spell was being called out. But I was shocked when I looked to my side.

"Forged by the God of Smithing; Hephaestus. Given to the Greek Hero of Achilles, this shield was made to house the world during the hero's time..." continued the Knight, who I had initially presumed that he wouldn't have such an incredible amount of Elemental Energy pool to use.

Boy... I was wrong. I thought the trembles were from the Jörmungandr, but from where I stood, I now understood that it was coming from Sir Velvet. I gazed downwards to see the Coastal waters rising while mixed with the sand.

What on Earth... Crap, I've got no time to think about that now!

"This is the roar of Uruk's final defense against the Gods! Loaded with the treasures of the Gate of Babylon, with the weapons created by the people and skills of Uruk! Slam from the Citadel!" I shouted as my vision went into overdrive again.

I knew my eye color had shifted since I could see my hair changing colors to a golden hue. Mirages of cannons started to appear on the growing towers of sand and water beneath us.

"Let it be heard through thunderous applause and shining legends... Opposing this shield is the same as making the world your enemy..."

Sir Velvet's hand was now holding a medium-sized metal round shield with four holes in the middle. The Knight quickly slammed it down to the tower's balcony wall as he grabbed it. The mirages now were solidified and turned their barrels towards the silhouette of the Storm Beast.
