"There is indeed something very important," Lyon began. "Here's the thing—Tony and I went on a trip to another world a few days ago, so the serum we talked about has been successfully developed."
Lyon briefly summarized his experience in the world of Resident Evil.
Then, he got straight to the point: "Only a few people know about this, including Tony and a few others. For now, let's keep this between us. Don't tell Yelena just yet."
"You're telling me... crossing worlds, a zombie apocalypse, saving the world... My God..." Natasha looked at Lyon in amazement. "I had no idea you've had such a crazy few days!"
"I agree, Yelena and the others shouldn't know about this for now," Natasha said, quickly understanding Lyon's perspective. "Not because I don't trust them, but it's better they know as little as possible."
Thinking about the regenerative abilities Lyon had mentioned, she felt a mixture of nervousness and anticipation. "So, you're planning to inject the serum you and Tony developed into us?"
"Exactly," Lyon nodded. "As the core of my new organization, we can't just have ordinary people, can we?"
He raised his thumb, adding, "But once the organization is established, we'll need some kind of incentive system. I'll inject you and Yelena with the SS2 serum, and for the others, they'll start with the SS1 version for now."
"Afterward, we'll set the SS2 serum as a reward for outstanding contributions. You can create a contribution value system, give the others a clear goal to work toward," Lyon explained.
"Got it," Natasha acknowledged with a nod. "When do we start?"
"Now."
...
In the laboratory, Lyon had both Natasha and Yelena strapped to the experiment tables, while Sherry was sent back to the first floor to join the other Widows in painting murals.
"Hey, big guy, are you sure this serum is really stronger than the Super Soldier Serum?" Yelena couldn't stay quiet even though she was secured on the table. "Am I about to become the next Captain America?"
Even in this serious situation, Yelena's mind and mouth couldn't rest.
She stretched her neck, picturing herself kicking Hydra agents and punching S.H.I.E.L.D. operatives after her enhancement.
Her thoughts jumped unpredictably, going from fighting scenarios one moment to focusing on the present the next.
It was like listening to a frog croaking by the river—one second it's loud, and the next, you don't know if it'll leap into the water or hop onto land.
"Do we really need to wear something this skimpy for the serum injection?" Yelena asked, half-joking. "Are you sure Natasha and I aren't about to turn into monsters?"
"Turning into a monster wouldn't be ideal," Yelena continued, "and it'd be better if we don't grow too much muscle. It's not exactly attractive."
"..."
"Shut up!" Both Natasha and Lyon, finally fed up, shouted in unison, "Be quiet, alright! Or I'll make you like a bulky bodybuilder!"
"YES BOSS! whatever you say!"
""We said shut up!""
Yelena, startled, quickly nodded and turned her gaze away.
Lyon decided to speed up the nutrient infusion at the control panel and immediately took out the serum. He personally administered the injections, effectively silencing Yelena in the process.
As the serum was injected, Natasha and Yelena went through an experience similar to Tony's when he was reborn after receiving his enhancements—first, their body temperatures spiked until their outer layers of skin carbonized.
After some time, the carbonized layer suddenly crumbled away, revealing their fresh, smooth, and flawless skin beneath, like newly peeled lotus seeds.
Using his x-ray vision, Lyon quickly assessed the situation and confirmed that the enhancement process was complete, with very obvious results. Both Natasha and Yelena's genes had successfully evolved, and their physical strength had multiplied.
Most importantly, the imperfections in their bodies had been perfectly corrected.
As Lyon released them from their restraints and placed their clothes on the table, he made sure the transformation had gone as planned.
Natasha and Yelena slowly regained consciousness.
After a brief moment of confusion, they flipped over and sat up. The sudden surge of strength caused the laboratory table to collapse under their weight.
"What...?" Natasha, now sitting on the floor, looked at her arms and then felt her muscles, which had become tough and elastic.
She felt like a new person—her whole body was brimming with explosive power, and her stamina seemed endless.
Even Yelena wasn't shouting or being her usual playful self at this moment. The normally goofy expression on her face was replaced with something more serious. Her hands instinctively moved to her abdomen, where she felt something stirring deep inside.
"Lyon, I... my... the modifications from the Red Room…" she stammered, struggling to find the right words.
Lyon understood what Yelena was trying to say. "Yes, the serum has the ability to regenerate your bodies."
"The things that were taken from you, the parts that were lost, have now been restored, making you whole again."
"Is... is that really true?" Yelena's voice trembled.
The modifications done to the Widow agents by the Red Room had left them with irreversible damage, both physically and emotionally.
No matter how composed Natasha was or how lively Yelena tended to be, both had carried this deep scar in their hearts for a long time.
"Of course," Lyon reassured them, "from now on, there's no difference between you and any other girl on the street. Don't doubt that, Yelena."
Leaning against the operating table behind him, he waved his hand casually, "But don't thank me too much—this is just part of the employee benefits. Like I said before, following me won't make you regret it."
"Boss! Boss!!" Yelena burst into tears, her emotions overwhelming her. "You, you, you! I love you so much!!"
She dropped the clothes she was holding, tears streaming down her face, and threw herself at Lyon like a weeping koala bear.
"Don't get too excited—hey, you're wiping your tears on my clothes!" Lyon protested, but Yelena kept clinging to him, nuzzling into his shoulder.
They pushed and pulled at each other, stumbling behind the operating table and eventually falling to the floor in a heap.
Meanwhile, Natasha, with tears glistening in her eyes, had too many emotions she wanted to express to Lyon.
But as she stood up, she came out of her daze and her face suddenly became odd, and she looked toward the operating table. "Hey, what's that sound? Yelena! What are you doing? Damn it, you're my sister, you can't..."
Natasha quickly rushed behind the operating table, her steps so heavy that she left small dents in the floor as she hurried to stop her sister from being overly enthusiastic.
It was understandable that Yelena was emotional, having had her lifelong pain suddenly healed. But wiping her tears all over Lyon? That was a bit too much.
Natasha felt she had to stop her sister's inappropriate behavior. However, in the process, she became overwhelmed by her own emotions and couldn't help but become "tearfully inappropriate" herself.
...
In the following few days, with Natasha's assistance, Lyon personally administered the SS1 serum to all of the Widow agents. Moments like these, which strengthened loyalty and deepened bonds, required his direct involvement.
After all the agents were enhanced, these already formidable fighters had been transformed into walking powerhouses.
For the next few days, they had to tread carefully, afraid that even the slightest misstep might cause them to shatter the tiles beneath their feet. Fortunately, the SS1 serum didn't just enhance their physical strength—it also sharpened their minds.
The Widow agents would soon adapt to their newfound powers. Their recognition and loyalty to the new organization grew stronger day by day.
Whenever Lyon appeared, these agents, already devoted to him, became even more passionate, their fiery gazes as if they were ready to 'ignite'.
Natasha noticed all of this. She had no doubt that when these enhanced Widow agents finally revealed their claws to the world, they would shake it to its core.
