Reborn as Cyrus The Great

Currently I was shrouded by a strange toxifying but calming mist. I do not know how I am alive in this strange place that is similar to that of a black hole. I have witnessed many white mist come and go. Although, this place will likely make me go insane if I am not rescued but I at least have something to calm and allow me to pass time if such a humane concept exists here. As I wait in this ever increasingly boredom of a prison watching my life through the memory's of what seem to be on a old Floppy disk. I turned to what seems to be a bright light

"If you even know what that is." I chuckled to myself thinking that I have already gone mad hallucinating of things not there. As the memories of my past kept flickering through It was truly a mundane experience nothing exciting except maybe a few fights or a few finds of gold through my times as a archaeologist.

As my memories slowly slowed down to a halt a whirlpool that looked like the black hole from interstellar. As I looked closer to the Whirlpool it was truly fascinating as it twisted and contorted in multiple different directions before a large leg made of scales, hands and other worldly abomination stepped out causing me to stumble backwards and collapse..

Slowly, the second leg popped out causing a loud bang this time instead of scales it was the skin and hide of dead animals. The being that was coming out truly horrified me to my very core of a being. After 2 minutes the being finally exited. It was grotesque and horrible and in best terms could only be described as a eldritch abomination. As I tried to speak to the being its overwhelming pressure crashed down and me making me crumble into whatever we were standing on before the being snapped its fingers and memories rushed into my mind telling why I am here and my purpose to entertain the eldritch beings and cause as much pain and damage to world as possible.

I looked upwards to the being. "Will I be given any powers for this grand endeavour? My Eldritch God" I said with great hope to be given a easier time which was returned with a shake of the head by the being. "But will you grant me one small wish. I beg!" I returned with a greater plead. This time the being answered the question with a nod of his head.

"Allow me to be transmigrated into the body of Cyrus the Great at the age of ten."

The Eldritch being returned with a nod before snapping his fingers and a whirlpool formed below me before sucking me in to the journey that awaited me .

… 'Where am I?' I questioned before I felt a burning and painful sensation of memories flood into my head of Cyrus' life as a "son" of a herdsman.

"I believe Cyrus should be king for our game" I heard a childish voice say ahead of me. When I looked ahead I realised I must be at the part of his life where he was chosen as a king for the game they were playing. I saw 5 children talking and discussing all in cheap garments except one the noble that later get beaten for not following Cyrus' order in the game.

"Cyrus don't you think you should be king for the game?" The one of the 5 boys asked

" As long as you boys wish I shall be your great and Mighty Ruler Cyrus The Great" I Chuckled when I called myself great and might even though I have no great or powerful backings as of right now.

"Then we'll choose you to be our king" The boys said all except one refusing to speak.

"Then Very well but I shall assign tasks for you. You the one furthest on the left you shall be my advisor and the boy next to him my body guard. The two boys beside my bodyguards shall be my cupbearer and food taster. The noble boy shall be my spymaster" I quickly and hastily assigned them fake roles quickly getting into my role and laughing along with the boys.

The noble boy did not respond after getting his role and from the looks of it he was furious probably having to listen to someone of such lower position than he.

"Why should I work for you. You should work for me after all I am much higher positioned than you!" He retorted in anger to me giving him the role.

"Very well you don't listen to your king and I shall punish you severely BOY! Grab him and restrain him we'll give him a good beating for not listening to his king." The boys listened to me as they believed what I am going to do was right. I slowed approached him and picked up a fallen branch before getting near him and swinging the branch down on his back as hard as possible multiple times before the boy started crying and saying he shall tell his father of this before full sprinting back to his villa. Leaving me and the others to laugh at his lack of tolerance and obedience.

" My Boy, a messenger has came asking for you saying it is something serious and important" My father told me.

"Very well father, I shall go and meet this messenger." I replied to him before walking to the front door. The messenger handed me a letter before getting back on his horse and galloping off.

The Letter stated, The King Of the Medes, King Astyages wishes to meet the boy that has beaten the son of a noble men. Come to the palace by tomorrow morning and show this letter to the guards and they shall escort you in.

"Huh. Well I'm royally fucked unless I can pull a Cyrus with a good speech"
