Chapter 26: Is it too late?

2 months have past little by little Rachel forgets about Rakesh, sometimes she keeps remembering him but at the same time she tries her best to move forward and forget about him.

Although it wasn't too easy from the start but who knows what will happen after all, Rakesh really never return after 2 months have past.

She started her life again as a normal teenager, a student in her busy lifestyle. Her friends was with her also they beginning to become closer every second. They always go to have some fun when they have free time. They're life became normal after what happen 2 months ago, although they still feel unease because of him leaving them and for Rachel who is trying her best to forget about him.

Their life back to normal, as they thought at first when all the monsters starts rampaging over their world. They starts to haunt people, that is what the news says. Rachel and her friends heard the news about monsters who were starting to move to haunt every humans.

Their lives turn into upside down, after Rakesh leave them they thought everything will be back to normal but only 2 months then all the monsters strikes every humans. There were also few dragons starts to kill humans.

Rachel couldn't contain the news from what she was hearing and saw from the tv so, she decided to go out and find a way for her to get to the mountain where was Reihta lives.

"Are you out of your mind?!" Stacey shouts at her.

"I have to... There must be a reason why also dragons were deploying to attack humans." Rachel said, but Stacey hold tight her wrist since she can't let her go.

"It's too dangerous Rach, you know that in the beginning." Stacey said,

"She's right, we can't let you go there alone now that monsters and dragons were attacking each other and they were attacking us. We can't just let you go there by yourself." Dennis said which made Stacey look at him shocked was written to her face.

"What?! You too?!" Stacey ask.

"Yes, after all. Rachel was our friend we can't leave her alone" Dennis said.

"But-" Stacey was cut off by Louis. "Come on, I know you don't want this but also you were cared for Rach."

Stacey sigh, she look at her twin sister who is nodded at her, smiling.

"Alright, all of us were going there" Stacey said.

As soon as Stacey willingly they immediately left and went to where Reihta and the others located.

It was almost night when they reached their destination, it was too quiet but also too cold outside.

"Are you sure this is the right way?" Daisy said for the 9th time.

"Yes, I am sure... I still can't forget this place." Rachel said. And they walked through up the mountain. But before they arrive there were monsters blocking their way through the mountain.

They stood there frozen as soon as that monster was awake and looking at their directions.

"N-now... What should we do now?" Stacey ask in a trembling voice.

"just don't move, I'm sure it will gone if it thought all of us were not alive" Rachel said in fear.

"Are you sure? It's still not moving. I think it knows that were alive... We should get out of here." Stacey said.

"No!" Rachel said, "Just don't move a muscle. I will try to figure out if it knows that we were alive and waiting for us to eat." She added.

So Rachel try to move an inch, only her hand and it seems that these creature haven't figure that they were alive. Or it was just a statue? But still they need to make sure.

So Rachel move her body when the creature spotted her movement so she stop and freeze.

She almost stop her breathe when the monster look away their directions, and move. And then they breathe comfortably, after the monster left they thought they were already safe but it was not since the monster went back again and this time the monster caught them so all of them including Rachel run away to the mountain to get what they needed.

Until Reihta appeared and fight the monster who are chasing them. Rachel and her friends quickly hide inside the cave while waiting if the monster finally killed.

Rachel look at where Reihta was fighting and guess what some of the monsters attracting the sounds which making it all the monsters gather in one place considering of how Reihta was forced to fight almost a lot of monsters but she can't handle it by herself.

Rachel saw how hard was Reihta trying to fight many monsters surround her.

"We have to help her!" Rachel said to her friends.

"But how we're supposed to do that? We're just humans, unlike them they were dragon and have special abilities." Stacey said.

"Yeah, we also do not have any weapons to begin with..." Louis said.

"Hey, even though we don't have what they have we can still do something to help her to defeat the enemy" Dennis said.

"Yeah, he's right. Even if we were humans, We can still do anything to help someone in need" Daisy said.

And then all of them try to find a weak point to the monster and create a strategy to help Reihta defeat the monster.

So since the monster was half snake and half elephant. It's weak point should be inside or in the legs of its body. Although there were several times that it may not work but still for sure there were chances that it can help to break it's defense.

Rachel and her friends run towards the monster causing Reihta to be alert and stay sharp from the monster.

Rachel and the others begins to try to harm the monsters body only using bunches of trees and twigs who is sharp and long that can may help them to even hit a little the monster.

But then, since the monster was big, what they cause wasn't too much damage for the monster but it helps to break it's awareness from Reihta. Reihta finally get the chance to attack the enemy and she succeeded to defeat the monster in a single blow. Reihta bite it's neck and break it causing the monster to defeat from the fight.

When the coast is clear, Rachel and her friends let out a relief that they finally win the battle. Until she remember what she was aiming from the beginning and since they thought the dragon who was with them was Reihta so Rachel quickly went to where was Reihta.

"Hey, I need your help please!" Rachel said shouting at the dragon in front of her. But instead the dragon show off it's teeth and ready to eat a prey.

Rachel and the others felt terrified seeing of how the dragon was reacting now.

"Did we made a mistake not knowing who was this dragon in front of us?" Rachel thought... She gulp while the dragon still looking at them hungrily was written to its look.

Until another dragon arrives and smashed the head of the dragon in front of them.

"SO I am right, it wasn't the Reihta was in front of us" Rachel said at the back of her head.

The other dragon left and now the only one left was the dragon who arrives just a few seconds ago.

"What are you doing here?!" Reihta said after she transformed into human,

"We wanted to help... Please I need to talk to Rakesh" Rachel said but instead Reihta slaps her face making all of them shocked.

Rachel shocked on what happen that she can't even react fast but when she look at Reihta she was crying mad at her.

"You should not went here in the first place. All of you were not different from the others" Reihta said.

"I..." Rachel said but she can't say what she supposed to say.

"My brother... Rakesh... Died because of you" Reihta said.

When Rachel learns and heard what Reihta said it kept repeating to her head. That Rakesh was dead right now and he won't coming back anymore...

"No, you're lying... He's still alive!" Rachel said after a few minutes trying to understand what Reihta said.

"hah! You think I'm lying?! For lord sake! My brother come back here full of wounds and his body ripped off! It was all thanks to your kind! That is why all the dragons and monsters were fighting to each others since our leader... already dead because of your kind!" Reihta said shouting at her.

"But... Rakesh promise me that he will come back... That no one can ever defeat him." Rachel said trying not to burst her tears.

"Then what he said is wrong... All of our kind little by little were already destroying themselves since there were no place here is safe for us. And all of us were fighting to compare ourselves as new leader." Reihta said.

"Maybe... maybe it's not too late? Maybe we can fix all of these. Please..." Rachel said. But Reihta turn over and walk away from them but before she left she said, "I wish you and my brother never meet from the first place. This wouldn't happen if you did not help him" Reihta said after that she transformed into dragon and flew away from them.

Rachel felt devastated once she finds out the truth that Rakesh was not here anymore for her. That Rakesh will never coming back. That he was dead now.

She covered her face and cried hard as soon as she realizes that Rakesh was not here anymore. She failed to help him, nor save him.
