Chapter 23: Rico the Veterinarian

They manage to survive when they decided to eat from a fast food chain since they were too hungry to feed themselves in the forest. All of them went to a fast food to eat something when Rachel remember about Rakesh he also haven't eaten anything yet.

So she decided to get enough meat and fish to help Rakesh eat something delicious meal. When they all satisfied they went to Rakesh who is patiently waiting for them inside the forest since they knew that they cannot let other people see him. Or it might give the humans terrified causing the researchers to know their locations.

"How are we going to bring Rakesh from your friend without no one notice it's presence?" Rachel ask.

"Hmm, I suggest he should do the operation inside the forest so that no one could ever see Rakesh" Stacey said.

"That's nearly impossible! For sure his equipment were inside his office" Louis said.

"Then what else should we do?" Rachel ask.

"Hmm, I will try to ask my friend if he can do the operation outside, if not then we don't have a choice but to bring Rakesh and let all the humans knows about him" Louis said. Rachel sigh, she doesn't want anyone to know about his dragon as much as she can. But the thing is that Rakesh was a little bit strange lately and they've been use him as a lab rat. And now he's outside again his strange behavior making her uncomfortable.

"Well then I will wait all of you inside the forest, I and Rakesh will wait you there" Rachel said and Louis nodded.

"We will be back shortly" Dennis said and Rachel nod she head towards where Rakesh is and Dennis and the others followed Louis wherever his friend located here.

While Dennis and the others walking they can't help but to be alerted everywhere after what George did to them they cannot be fool again like that. They also needed to bring Rakesh to the vet to check up on him.

But they seems to be looking suspicious every time they look around and everyone noticeable their strange movements. It was pretty obvious that they were looking for something, or someone.

After a minute they stopped to a small house but elegant if you see it. Good for one person to live.

"Wow! Who's house is this?" Daisy ask.

"That my friend will be the person who we will going to meet" Louis said and push a door bell. Suddenly a dog went outside and it has a collar on her neck. It barks on them but, the collar elaborate what it should say. "Hello visitors!" The golden retriever was the one who went outside from the house and bark on them.

"Hey, I want to see Rico, does your owner is here?" Louis ask to the dog.

"Oh, boy, yes he was here. Although he was busy but you can talk to him on the phone. Perhaps you didn't notice that my owner always busy on the other animals" The dog says who is indeed talkative but barking on them.

"Can you tell him, that Louis is here to meet him?" Louis said.

"Oh, yes I will be back, I will bring him here outside" The dog said and then he went inside to call her owner.

A couple of minutes someone went outside he was wearing a coat and a eye glasses. His hair kind of wavy kind of a weak person. He is not too much taller around 4'8 of height but he is indeed a looking genius.

"Hey Rico! What's up?!" Louis said, Rico first clean his eye glasses before he recognize Louis.

"Louis my man!" Rico said and then automatically the gate open. Louis and Rico group hug each other, it's been a year since they seen each other still haven't different Louis is much taller than Rico.

"You're still smaller than before," Louis said,

"You too, look a giant to me" Rico said then they both laugh when Louis introduce his friends to each other. He first introduce, Stacey, Daisy, and Dennis. Before he point out to Rico.

"What brought all of you here? I'm sorry if my house kind of mess. You know about pets always making a mess around the house." Rico said when all of them went inside his house.

"Actually, we are here because we just wanted to ask if you can perform an operation in the forest?" Louis said without hesitation.

Rico look at him curiously but then he said, "No. I need my equipment here to do the operation. Also I may needed assistance if I'm going to operate an animal. Doing an operation in solo is a hard and a tough job for us"

"Then we will help you, we just needed your help and operate him" Dennis said making curve an inch to Rico.

"Him? I do not do operation on person. I can't handle that job" Rico said.

All of them look to each other hesitant to tell it first but in the end Dennis tell him the truth. "It's not a human... Well, apparently half-half if you ask me." Dennis said.

"Half-half? What do you mean? Can you get to the point? I am clueless to what you all want me to do?" Rico said.

"Well, it's a dragon who can transform into human" Daisy said. Making Rico shocked.

"What!? A Dragon?!" Rico said shockingly but all of them nod at him.

"Wow! I thought dragons are just a myth creature who is nobody can prove that they were existing. Are you sure that you have a dragon?" Rico ask.

"We don't have but one of our friend has and his a good dragon" Louis said.

"Yeah, he needs to do an operation now. Since he was acting strangely and also he can't transform into human." Stacey said.

Rico think of a heavy thought then he ask them. "Did that dragon do an experiments from the researchers? I mean, there is a possibility that these researchers created a thing making those dragon cannot use their ability." Rico said and then he went to his lab to gather his information.

"I have this information I get to see one when I went 3 years ago in a researchers and to gather up information. I think they put this chip inside his body so it can't use his ability.

Mostly dragons are terrifying creatures, it has many abilities that can affect humans. Although it was just a guess but it seems that these creatures can manipulate a human beings." Rico said then show it to all of them.

All of them look at the chip that Rico showed to them it seems that this chip was some kind of a machine that can affect a dragon.

"Here's an example what can it do to a dragon" Rico said then showed a telegraphic film where a dragon planted a small chip inside his body.

"As you can see here, the dragon seems to be trying to fight from the humans but when they put a chip inside the dragon's body, it can now manipulate this creature easily. But it also affects to those dragon's mind. It was like they've been hypnotize from the humans" Rico said and it shows how the dragons fight it's kind although it wasn't to appropriate to look at it.

"We need to do an undergo surgery now before the chips effects the dragon's mind" Rico said.

"But I need all my equipment to perform a surgery" Rico added.

"But if we bring here the dragon for sure all the humans in your village will be terrified, and also it may cause or alert the researchers about it. We just escape from the researchers 3 days ago and I don't want to come back there again" Daisy said.

"You escape from the researchers?" Rico ask.

"Yes, all of us. I mean one of our friend betrayed us and help them get Rakesh" Louis said.

"Who is Rakesh?" Rico ask.

"That is the dragon we were talking about, he's our friend although he was strange after what the researchers did to him" Daisy said.

"Then we have to do the surgery now before it's too late..." Rico said.

"Wait, what do you mean?" Stacey ask.

"Well, according to my theory, this chip that the researchers implanted to every dragon can cause something on their minds causing the dragon to freak out. In other words, it can affect his mind and kill anyone near him. Once the chip already damage his mind cells all the dragons can only see one thing, it's either enemy or food" Rico said, causing them to be terrified.

"If that happens then Rachel must be in danger with Rakesh!" Dennis said, then they quickly rushes back to her with Rico. Before he left he brought his tranquillizer gun to help the dragon fell asleep.

Good thing that Rico brought his tranquillizer to help Rakesh fall asleep before he kills Rachel.
