"I need to see father, right now" she said and start walking towards the door but a servant came to tell them that someone from the palace has arrived.

"Let's go" Davina said and they all came out including Maria who is helped by Maya and one of the servants.

The whole family knee down to acknowledge the edict; the King's aid greets them solemnly and prepare to announce to them what the King's order is. They all kneel as they listen

"Gregorio has been found aiding the King's enemies and thereby imprisoned till further investigation is made, none of his family are allowed to leave their mansion till then" he read and Davina step forward to accept it.

"My Lady, you have to be strong and take care of the house. Am sure your father will return after the King proves his innocence" he told her

He knows her father well and knows of his loyalty to the King also.

He left and let some of the King's guards stay behind to guide their mansion.

"We are in trouble, are we all going to get killed?" Tasha panicked and held her two sons.

"Davina, what do we do now? How are we going to get out of this mess? You have to do something or we will all be killed for my Lord's mistake" Jane said holding the edge of her dress.

Davina shake her off furiously and stare at her in anger.

"Mistake? You only care about yourself and not my father" she screamed at her and Jane move away scared.

None of her stepmother accepts it when her father decides to make her his heir and they make a fuss about it but now that there is trouble, they want her to take care of it.

"June, make preparations I will go see the King first" she decided and went toward her room while her maids follow her hurriedly.

With the help of her two maids Davina is able to escape outside the house and find her way to the palace, she bribes some of the guards and they let her in to the King's palace.

Davina saw a number of guards and servants near the King's door and has to think of a way to go in, she waited for a while and with nothing coming to mind she decide to take the risk and go in.

"Who is there?" The King's aid Steve asked and saw Davina standing at a distance. He hurried towards her and acknowledges her.

"My lady, why are you here? The King has ordered that you do not..."

"I know but I have to see the King" she told him, the two are quite familiar with each other and Davina remember been friends with him when she was very little alongside the King

"That will not be possible my Lady, the King is not in a good mood tonight so I will suggest you come back"

"Tell him am here" she insist ignoring his words and move boldly forward.

"My Lady you shouldn't do this, you are putting your father in more danger" Steve tries to dissuade her

She ignores him and continued inside but is stopped at the door by the prime minister.

Davina is surprised to see him in the King's chambers that late and move backward startled then she bow slightly to greet him.

"Do you want to see the King because of your father? I will advise you to go back now and wait patiently or the punishment will affect your other extended family" he said and walks away as Davina stare at his back with anger and hatred.

She is sure he and the other officials has something to do about the allegations laid against her father, it must be one of their plot to destroy their family.

"Who is there?" She heard the King's voice from inside and turned her attention away from the prime minister.

It's being a long time since she heard the King's voice and it sounds deeper and hostile than before, she has always avoided him whenever she comes to the palace with her father and made sure not to come in contact with him

If she had come to the banquet then maybe she would have seen him and probably avoid the problem happening right now.

"Your majesty, Miss Gregorio will like to see you"Steve answered and Davina wonder for a second if the King will recognize her

"Davina? Didn't I order every of Gregorio's family to stay in their mansion?" He response

"Your Majesty, please allow me a few minutes with you" Davina voiced before Steve could speak.

"Return to your place and await my judgment" he said but Davina refused and tries to push in but is stopped by Dave.

"Please go back or I will have to offend you" he warned and she retreat without any choice but instead of going home she head to the place where her father has been imprisoned

Davina bribe the guards standing at the entrance and they check to if see if there is anyone around before they open the door and let her in

She remove her robe and place it behind the wall before proceeding inside, although she has bribe them but the people inside will definitely not allow her to see her father so she has to sneak in to avoid being caught.

Left with only a long formal gown, Davina walk as quietly as she can and made her way towards the direction the guards gave to her

Luckily for her, most of the guards on duty are chattering away and didn't notice her small figure as she enters into the inner cells and soon find her father.

"Father" She called anxiously and run to him but the doors were separating them

"Davina, what are you doing here?" Gregorio questioned and look around for any sight of the guards

"Don't worry, they wouldn't come in here anytime soon" she assures him and try to hold his hand despite the chains on him

"What happened? How could the King find out about the men we hired?" She asked him impatiently

"The prime minister report it to the King, he seems to have been watching us for a while now" Gregorio answers. He blames himself for being careless

He left the palace because he doesn't want to get his family involve in any trouble and just live a peaceful life but didn't expect that the prime minister will target him after years

"Don't worry my child, I will definitely come out of this unharmed" he tries to assure her but Davina knows that King Edgar isn't someone she can trust.

"Father, I will definitely investigate this" she tells him but Gregorio knows that time isn't on their side

The ministers will definitely pressure the King the next day to convict him

"How was your visit to Cornelius's family?" He inquire trying to ease the air but Davina feels sad to see her father like this

She told him that they agree to let them get married in three days but that may be delayed now.

They two remain silent with their thoughts and tears roll down Davina's eyes which her father quickly wipe off and pat her back gently.

He always does that to her when she was little or when he has to leave to a far place for work.

She smiles in between her tears and bought a wrapped paper out of her dress

"This is your favorite braised pork, I couldn't bring some water" she said and passes it to him

Gregorio smiles and pick the paper from the floor and wraps it up again

"My child, you should leave now" he said to her and Davina nods her head not arguing with him like always

She turns to leave when Gregorio calls her back

"In case things get out of hand, remember the edict I gave to you" he said and Davina nods positively

"Use it to save everyone" he told her and they bade each other goodnight before she walk out and thanked the men who let her in
