2. Summoning

As they got closer to the courtyard rushing fast enough to knockdown some tapestries and furniture. Followed by a few dozen knights. They could see a few servants laying on the ground other rushing away.

As they neared he began feeling intense pressure. Stronger than even his Silver Dragon summon.

Garth was also a summoner and the strongest of his generation. He also had a steel Golem that was almost as strong as his fathers wearwolf.

Just as he and his father rounded the corner and saw an unbelievable site as the pressure increased and flowed over him like a massive tidal wave. The soldiers and knights following began falling to the ground from the pressure.

Garth stumbled from the pressure, fear rising in his chest, just before he could understand what he was seeing. But as always his father didn't budge he was made of steel.

It was unimaginable.

Onyx was shorter than most in the Merith family but Meriths were know to be huge and he was only 10. Onyx's lightly browned skin was reflecting from the light that shined into the cortyard and the child was smiling.

Onyx was in the courtyard riding on a large grizzly bear sized monster. Two horns pointing straight forward and a mouth full of thousands Sharp teeth. Looking almost like a snapping turtles shaped jaw. Other sharp spikes point out of a carapace on its back and a thick scaled hide that looked thicker than a dragons scale.

It had two small eyes but it felt as if it didn't use its eyes too see, like it could sense its surpunding by just existing. It's claws were like long finger blades, able to both dig and tear apart anything it wanted.

In the fountain next to Onyx was a another creature he had never seen with sixteen 2 meter long tentacles holding it up. Two arms with webbed and clawed. A thick spiky turtle shell and a face the shape of a salamander that just like the other beast was full of sharp teeth. Some of the tentacles had suction cups and others looked like blades. But some looked as if they could shoot quills.

But the scariest part by far was its eyes. All 12 of them were pitch black. He knew wherever that beast may be, it could see you.

Then his father spoke quitely snapping him out of the trance "look at the bird on his shoulder"

It was just a small white bird. But it looked translucent. As if it was a mirage. But it was there even if it felt as if it wasn't.

Duke Belren whispered under his breath "It's a caladrius the bird of life" the white bird of healing. Able to cure any illness and injury. A bird read about in only old books about mythic summons.

Garth immediately thought about how there must be 3 masters nearby. All three of these summons were on par with atleast a dragon. Then thinking about it he didn't know any master with these summons in the entire kingdom.

It'd be wide spread knowledge and knowone hid there summons. So it must be an assassins or someone from another kingdom. Garth immediately thought of the implications of 3 masters taking down his father.

Garth then went to summon. To secure his brothers safety and his fathers dukedom, feeling his Silver Dragon and steel Golem ready to be released but just before he let them out he felt his fathers hands grasp his shoulder.

"They are your brothers and not only 3 summons but they are all atleast red" red was one of the strongest categories of summons and his father knew how to measure the strengths of summons. He was the strongest in the continent after all.

"We can't let anyone know yet" Garth stated.

Both of the monsters turned and stared at Duke Belren after he had spoke almost as if they heard. The pressure increased tenfold. It felt like they were searching for his true intentions. After a few seconds which felt like minutes Garth noticed Onyx smile dropped.

All the summons except the bird disapeared almost immediately.

Garth thought he unsommoned them way to fast. Even now it takes Garth atleast a minute to unsummon his father only 15 seconds.

But immediately. Onyx was exceeding all logic.

Onyx fell to the ground landing then bowing.

"Onyx greets Duke Belren"

"How many know Onyx?" His father asked

"Only 3 servants all loyal father" onyx passing his soft childish gaze to the two servants currently watching one being his martial arts master and then the servant behind his father and brother running twords them.

the rest of the people around seemed unconscious.

"I see, you gave us quite a fright" Belren spoke.

Garth knew his father wasnt one for many words and what he spoke was only truth.

"He is right Onyx why didn't you tell us sooner you could summon this is a joyous occasion"Garth cheered walking over and placing is brother in a light headlock.

"Are you proud brother i can summon like you and i can use magic now too!" Onyx immediatly jumped up and aimed his hand out and let out a beem of water. into Garths helmet.

It only went a few inches but at 10 it was unheard of as well.

"Father can you teach me more now that have the talent" Onyx had always been worried he would be the talentless bastard son.

"No you're to young to learn my magic. Come now son you may not understand your predicament"

Garth thought for a moment. Belren didn't use the term lightly. Onyx was finally accepted to have a right to fight for the seat as an Heir.

Then Garths Smile faded and he realized, when you first summon there babies of there species and grew with the bonds.

His Golem was the size of his fist and his dragon only half a meter in length. What kind of baby summons could be so massive at birth.
