"Not bad."Seeing Raichu fall to the ground, Surge applauded with a fierce smile on his face.
Afterward, he recalled Raichu, walked quickly over to Bruce, smiled, and said, "Just as expected from the strongest first-year student in this class."
"He's even stronger than the captain was back then."
Liam approached, cleared his throat at this, and interrupted, "Head back first."
Surrounded by the crowd, the four left the stadium and returned to the school team's room.
"When are you free?" Liam asked Bruce.
Surge stroked his chin and then replied, "I'm free anytime."
"Well, set your own time, go early and come back early, and be careful~," Liam continued.
"Alright!" Surge grinned.
Then Surge turned to look at Bruce and said, "Today is Friday; why not go to Bruce today?"
"If you catch a plane, you'll arrive in just over an hour."
Bruce thought for a moment, nodded, and said, "Sure."
"Alright then, go back, pack your things, and leave in the afternoon," Surge instructed.
After that, they both returned to their respective dorms to pack their belongings.
This is the normal life of college students, especially those in the combat department, who may be absent for extended periods.
When Bruce returned to his dorm, Nero greeted him right away.
"Brother Bruce, you've become a trending topic on our school forum again."
Bruce took his phone, checked, and saw it was a video of his previous battle with Surge. He couldn't help but mutter, "That was quick..."
Then he looked at Nero and said, "I have something to do in Godalming City, not sure when I'll be back."
"If I'm not back for class, let the Master know for me."
Nero patted his chest confidently, saying, "No problem."
Bruce nodded slightly and began packing his things.
That evening, in Godalming City, Electric City.
"Look, this is Electric City, the last stop before reaching Electric Valley," said Surge, looking at the brightly lit city not far away.
The two had flown to Godalming City that afternoon and arrived here by car, in Electric City.
"Get a good night's rest; tomorrow morning, register at the Pokemon Association and rent insulating suits and related gear," said Surge.
Finally, Surge reminded, "This is on the Avalon border. The stationed Trainers here are powerful, and the regulations are pretty strict. Let's rest well tonight and display the best behavior."
Although Surge had a gruff appearance, he was actually quite attentive.
They both entered Electric City. Bruce looked around and found that, although small in scale, Electric City's infrastructure was quite complete and even had entertainment venues.
Surge explained, "Most Trainers who enter Electric Valley rest here and purchase necessary items, so this place is fairly prosperous."
Soon after, they checked into a hotel.
Once inside, Bruce carefully checked the room for any monitoring equipment before standing by the window and observing the street below.
"When walking in a place like this, you have to be cautious," Bruce murmured.
Being near the border, there was a mix of good and bad people, with all sorts of characters, which increased uncertainty and danger.
And unlike Viridian Forest, a rookie-level area, only Professional-level Trainers and above could enter here, so the professional level was not particularly rare.
Although Avalon generally had good law and order, it was still best to be careful in such places.
The night grew darker.
The next day, the two met at the local Pokemon Association to apply for entry into Electric Valley.
"Hello, I'm Kilian Aregula."
Their host was a middle-aged man with dark skin, a simple-looking appearance, but particularly sharp eyes.
"Welcome to Electric City, both of you," Kilian Aregula forced a smile and then asked, "Is this your first time entering Electric Valley?"
"It's my third time," Surge said, pointing to Bruce beside him. "It's his first time."
"Alright, please show your Trainer ID and register your basic information," Kilian Aregula continued.
Surge and Bruce handed over their Trainer IDs simultaneously.
"Surge, 21 years old, professional Trainer..." Kilian Aregula's pupils contracted slightly as he reviewed the ID and then remarked, "A genius."
Surge laughed loudly, his face full of pride.
Then Kilian Aregula looked at Bruce's ID and said quietly, "Bruce, 18 years old, professional Trainer..."
In the next second, he suddenly lifted his head and stared at Bruce's face.
After a long moment, he said, "So, there's another powerful genius."
Once the information was registered, Kilian Aregula looked at them both and slowly said, "Let me briefly go over the precautions after entering Electric Valley."
Surge scratched his ears, uninterested. This was his third time hearing the rules.
"Electric Valley is vast and takes at least a week to traverse."
"Later, I'll give you both a map. It contains detailed information, with dangerous zones marked. Please proceed with caution."
"Additionally, there are many secret treasures in Electric Valley. If you find them, they belong to the Trainer."
"In Electric Valley, Trainers can battle each other, but shooting or injuring others is prohibited. Offenders will be punished according to the law," stated Kilian Aregula.
"The final point, please wear insulating suits in Electric Valley. If an accident occurs, the Trainer is responsible for the consequences."
"Now, follow me to pick up the insulating suits and related accessories."
The insulating suits looked a lot like space suits but were less bulky, lighter, and did not hinder movement at all.
"The insulating suits are made from special materials and incorporate principles of lightning rods and electric motors. Not only do they not attract lightning, but they also actively repel it.
"With an insulating suit, you can endure a lightning strike without feeling a thing."
"Please take good care of it and remember to return it when you leave."
Bruce listened in silence and then pondered who would be stronger: this suit or Ash's physique.
Ash should still be stronger since he faces Thunderbolt daily.
Wait, wouldn't the Team Rocket trio be even better?
After paying the rental fee, Bruce and Surge left the Pokemon Association and headed toward Electric Valley.
Along the way, there were other Trainers wearing the same insulated suits, which were still not entirely comfortable.
After walking along the road for about half an hour, an endless line of barbed wire came into view.
Surge said, "This is the warning line, meant to keep ordinary people from accidentally entering. Cross this line, and we'll be there soon."
The two crossed the line and walked for ten minutes before Surge said, "Here we are."
Bruce looked around and saw that the originally clear sky had become overcast at some point, the atmosphere was oppressive, and muffled thunder occasionally rumbled, deafeningly.
Then… bright arcs occasionally leaped from the ground, making crackling noises.
Seeing this, Bruce raised his eyebrows; his first impression of Electric Valley was intense.
"Now you understand why you need the insulating suits," Surge laughed beside him.
"It certainly seems necessary," Bruce nodded.
Surge laughed heartily, then raised his hand and released a Pokeball, saying, "Come out, Electivire!"
With that command, a white light flashed, and a massive yellow-and-black Pokemon appeared before Bruce.
It had thick arms and two prong-like features on its back.
[ Pokemon: Electivire (Electric)
Ability: Motor Drive
Qualification: Elite
Level: Lv 41 (Ace)]
Elite-Qualified Electivire!
This Electivire was Surge's main Pokemon.
"There are some wild Pokemon inhabiting Electric Valley, and they're likely to attack us," Surge said.
"Additionally, there's a great spot ahead for Electivire's training," he continued.
Bruce nodded, suddenly understanding, and released his Metang.
Surge glanced at the heterochromatic Metang, then took out the map and said, "The special magnetic field you're looking for is deep within Electric Valley, and we need to pass through this area.
"And in the middle of this zone, there's a thunderstorm zone."
"Thunderstorm zone?" Bruce looked a bit puzzled.
Seeing Bruce's confusion, Surge patiently explained, "This thunderstorm zone is in constant thunder from morning to night, with continuous thunderstorms. It's become the best place for many Electric-type Pokemon to absorb electricity and practice their electric skills."
...seeking flowers...
"Even…" At this, Surge had a strange expression and continued, "Other Pokemon types come here to temper their bodies."
"Tempering the body?" Bruce mulled over the phrase.
Surge explained, "Some Trainers believe that lightning can temper the body, letting the electric current pass through limbs and bones, stimulating cells and achieving the effect of strengthening the body.
"After repeated trials and research, this method has proven effective."
"Because of this, every year, powerful Trainers bring their Pokemon to Electric Valley to temper their bodies through lightning and strengthen their physiques."
"There's even a powerful Mage who tempers his own body through lightning, but such a powerful Mage is very rare, and I've only heard of him."
Bruce was surprised for a moment and then secretly grumbled, "What kind of fancy script..."
"Anyway, would you like to try your Combusken?" asked Surge.
Bruce heard this, thought for a moment, then nodded and said, "Yes."
Anyway, the Pokemon has good stamina and won't take serious damage, so give it a try.
It's really an exaggeration that humans resist lightning and temper their bodies.
"Okay, then let's go to the thunderstorm area first." Surge nodded and led Bruce into the thunderstorm area.
As he went deeper, there were fewer and fewer companions, and the dark clouds overhead were so dense that they almost completely occupied the entire sky.
Occasionally lightning struck, shining like daylight.
Electric Valley is steep and very dangerous. While paying attention to the path beneath your feet, you must do everything you can to avoid the lightning.
An hour later, Electivire and Metang looked to the left at the same time, and a blue quadruped Pokemon came into view.
It has a patch of yellow mane on its head and body, and its scarlet eyes stare at Bruce and the others.
[ Pokemon: Manectric (electricity).
Ability: Lightning Rod
Quilification: Gym
Level: Lv35 (Professional)]
Manectric rarely appears in front of people. Manectric is under the unnatural storm cloud. It is said that his residence is where thunder and lightning fall.
While thinking about the information about Manectric in his mind, Bruce looked up and a lightning bolt fell from the distant sky.
Well, that's exactly the same as the data log.
"Rumor has it that Manectric can electrically stimulate muscles to activate faster."
"In this way, it seems quite reasonable to temper the body with lightning," Bruce thought to himself.
This Manectric walks towards them slowly, looking.
Quite hostile.
Surge folded his arms and said slowly, "The Electric Valley is filled with rich electrical energy, and electrical energy is the most violent. 11
"Whether it's a person or a Pokemon, if you live here for too long, you will become irritable and explosive."
Then he flashed a big smile and said with a grimace, "Thunderbolt, it's always been like that.
"Are you coming or shall I come?" he asked again.
Bruce didn't hesitate, "I will."
Every wild Pokemon that dares to take the initiative to challenge is a valuable experience point, and Bruce will take them seriously.
"Go, Metang," Bruce said.
"Metang!"
Metang floated forward, his red eyes fixed on the opposing Manectric.
"ROAR!!!"
Manectric let out a low growl and took the lead in the attack. He took a step forward and moved towards Metang Lunge. It opened its ferocious mouth and the fangs inside glowed.
Thunder Fang!
"Psychic," Bruce said directly with a calm look.
"Metang!"
Metang replied, and then his eyes glowed with a dazzling purple light, and Psychic's nose fluctuated accordingly.
Suddenly, Psychic burst invisible and a dazzling purple light directly enveloped the entire body of the rushing Manectric.
In the next second, Manectric froze in place, was controlled by Confusion and floated out of nowhere.
"Roar!!!**
Manectric roared furiously and struggled hard, but was unable to break free from Confusion's shackles.
Immediately after, Manectric, enveloped in Confusion, fell to the ground and hit the ground hard.
boom!
A flurry of dust and smoke ensued, and Manectric was smashed to pieces.
Stepping aside, Surge looked at this scene with a strange look in his eyes and whispered, "Professional Metang..."
"What a fucking perverted knife!".
