Arc 2: 2.4

(Lemme tell you something in the first world. At first, I planned to write the aphrodisiac drug but midway I threw it away and chose deadly drugs. You know why? Because I didn't know how to write the sex scene, so I chose the latter drug in the plot. XD)

Currently, it was the day of the festival, the birth of the Netherworld's one million years anniversary. From what he got from the system observation during his sleeping time, every year of the festival, The Nether Emperor allowed all the working dead spirits have three days off from work including those in the hell prison too.

The Nether Emperor enabled all the dead spirits that were currently residing in the Netherworld to participate in the festival which was held on the altar of the Nether God. These three days for the dead spirits were very special because during these days they got to have the Nether Light nourishing their soul. Even though the dead spirits didn't get the merit points, they were absolutely grateful and excited when the festival came.

The nourishment from the Nether Light for three days was the special gift that they ever received from the Nether God which could be a great factor to get a good life after completing the reincarnation. Thus, the more you absorb, the better. The Nether Light was violet in color with golden sparkle, shining through the dark sky of the Netherworld.

However, the Nether Light in these thousand years after the current Nether Emperor regime only came and shined on the first day of the festival. Did you ask why? That was because the current Nether Emperor had no Empress. That was right his majesty, the Nether Emperor didn't have Empress.

The Nether Light could only continuously shine for three days from the preying of the Nether Empress. However, there are 2 factors that influenced the decision of choosing the Empress. First, on the 3rd day of the festival, the fated person would bestow the power by the Nether God himself through the process while the Nether Emperor was preying on the same day.

Second, after the Nether God's blessing, then the Nether Emperor himself would decide whether that person was his fated one based on the crystal globe in the secret garden of the Nether Palace, which contained the Nether Emperor's soul. If the chosen one could walk inside, then it could be considered the first step of succession. Then while the chosen one was staying in there, the crystal globe glowed, it meant that that chosen one would be the Empress of the Netherworld.

Due to these 2 factors, all the chosen ones by the Nether God in these thousand years of the current Nether Emperor's reign didn't have anyone that could pass the 2nd step. All his subordinates had asked him this question from when the first chosen one was rejected. The answer that they got was 'My fated one hasn't appeared yet, what's the hurry?' or 'I'm waiting for someone else, they haven't appeared yet.'

These were all the words that his system heard from stalking the high-rank dead spirits. They told it to the new dead spirits that just registered recently. Nineteen thought that this phenomenon was interesting, he couldn't wait for the 3rd day of the festival.

The agenda for the first day of the festival is nothing but praying and having fun. All the dead spirits' souls would automatically absorb the Nether Light no matter what they did. It was just if you wanted to absorb more, you could stay in one place and focus on the absorbing.

Nineteen wanted to see the praying, but when he arrived he found that there were a lot of people, ah, no, dead spirits in front of the altar of the Nether God. He couldn't get through this crowd of dead spirits. He estimated that the dead spirits in here which were the area to the east of the altar was around one billion dead spirits based on his system calculated for him.

Nineteen's lips opened wide as he was surprised by the number of dead spirits here. The east area was around this much, then what about the other directions? He couldn't imagine that it was much more than the concert tour of famous people, not that he went one, but he knew those famous concerts only had around million not billion. As time passed, more and more dead spirits flew into the crowd, and it became more stuffed.

Nineteen felt that if he was a human, within this type of situation, he might be running out of oxygen. There was noise everywhere talking about the preying process and whether this year they could find Empress for their Emperor who was waiting for a thousand years.

The crowd only became silent when they saw a golden silhouette walking slowly toward the altar. They immediately knew that it was the Nether Emperor, only he had this momentous and strong oppressed aura, so they quickly shut up and solely focused on the altar.

The Nether Emperor who was walking suddenly stopped midway and turned toward a certain direction with the look who knew what he was thinking. Then he resumed his walks to the altar. When he arrived in the middle of the altar, he took out a wooden staff with a baseball size clear blue crystal globe on the top, decorated with a golden glimmer all over the staff.

He waved the staff a few times, then *thud* the tip of the staff hit the ground hard. Then, the altar started to glow from where the tip landed bit by bit and eventually filled the entire altar. The violet light from the altar began to gather around the top of the altar and suddenly it went up to the sky above. It pierced through the dark sky and then the violet light emerged from the hole that it was pierced through. The dark and gloomy sky step by step turned into the shining violet night and a big bright violet sun was rising, emitting the violet light to the whole Netherworld. And that was the Nether Light.

Nineteen was watching this fantastic scene with his mouth opened, he was awed by this event so much. Then he felt the comfort from the violet light that was shone on his skin. He felt happy and powerful at this moment. He turned around to see everyone else's reaction and found they had the same reaction as him, and some even started to sit down, crossed the leg, and meditated to be able to absorb more of the Nether Light. Nineteen was just standing there among the crowd watching everyone else.

As for the Nether Emperor, after the Nether Light shone successfully, he returned to the Nether Palace. He didn't forget to turn to see a certain person standing smiling foolishly among the crowd, he couldn't help but slightly lift the corner of his lips when seeing that action.

Nineteen didn't notice when the Nether Emperor looked in his direction both times. He just enjoyed himself to this new feeling that he received from the Nether Light. After a while, he walked away from where he stood and started strolling around the area.

He found most of them directly sat down to absorbed the Nether Light, and the rest were strolling like him, or talking to the other dead spirits, or leaving somewhere he didn't know. As he was strolling, he chatted with his system because he had nothing to do and there was no fun thing to do in the Netherworld.

[Blackie, how long will I need to stay here?]

[Well, it depends on your performance.]

[What do you mean?]

[Basically, if you continue to stay in this rank and do this job, it might take you around five thousand years to be able to reincarnate.]

[What? Are you serious?]

[Yes, I'm serious.]

[Then what rank does it take the shortest amount?]

[Of course, the higher the better.]

[So you say the general rank?]

[Yes, the general rank was the shortest one, 200 years only]

[OMG! Then how long did the original host take to be able to reincarnate?]

[I'm not sure, a few thousand years probably.]

[Then, now that I'm here what about the original host?]

[Don't worry, he has gone to reincarnate.]

[That's good.]

Nineteen continued chatting with his system about various topics relating to reincarnation, the soul, their system operation, and so on.

As for the Nether Emperor, when he arrived at the Nether Palace, he dismissed all the servants and subordinates that followed him from the altar as he didn't have any order for them, so they could just go to do their things. However, he stopped one of the slowest to leave, ordered them to call a tailor to meet him. They were puzzled at the order, but they knew that they couldn't ask, so they just did what they were told to do.

After he finished his command, his face suddenly had a smile while his eyes were looking outside the window of the big hall.

"After tomorrow, you will be mine!"

(A/N: you know what, I didn't expect the crystal globe to make an appearance here. I didn't think of these situations back then when I wrote about the crystal globe. Unexpected. XD)

Whew, another chapter finished. I post the chapter the moment I finished writing it. XD Enjoy!
