New World

Gunes gained consciousness for a brief time. At this moment, he could feel his body after a long time. He felt as if it had been thousands of years since the last time he could feel anything. Although he could move them barely, he is happy. He regained and lost consciousness a couple of times. One day, however, he felt that he could open his eyes. He tried and succeeded.

Gunes opened his eyes slowly. The first thing he saw when he opened his eyes was a kid`s face. His head felt as if filled with lead. It seems having visual data storming in as soon as he opened his eyes was a bit sudden for his brain. He heard the girl screaming something he could not discern. At that moment he heard someone coming and pointed his eyes to that side and he saw a very beautiful woman staring at him with disbelief and relief. Just before he could register what he saw, he lost consciousness again.

Chattering noises wake him up again. When he opened his eyes this time, he saw the beautiful woman in between a middle-aged and an aged man. Both men had blue eyes and black hair. He could tell that they were self-confident and proud men. The women, however, started to cry. It seemed like the cause was me. The weirdest thing however the costumes they were wearing. They were wearing like royals of the Middle Ages. The room does not have any resemblance to what he used to, too. There was not a single electronic appliance in the room. Gunes started to feel anxious because he subconsciously knew what all of this meant. But he needed more proof.

Right when Gunes was thinking, the aged man took him by surprise by raising him suddenly. He said something like 'Eren', but Gunes could not care less because he found irrefutable proof. He had a body of about sixty centimeters. He was a baby. They were talking in a language he did not understand but he does not care right now. He was in shock.

After a while, Gunes realized he was in between the arms of the middle-aged man, and in the end, he was left with the only woman in the room. The aged man said something and exited the room. After that, the woman just opened his shirt and put her bare chest to his mouth. Gunes was stumped. Fortunately for him, the body's reflexes decided for him, and he started to suck. 

After a while, Gunes calmed down and continued to suck while making plans. First, he needs to find out what's going on, second, he needs to act the role of a baby. Although he does not know the exact circumstances he is in right now, he can deduce that these people were his parents. So, the last thing he wants is to make them fear him. He needs to have time to plan. 'After I ate my fill, I will pretend to sleep then they will let me be' thought Gunes.

After Gunes finished his meal, he did not need to pretend, because he started to sleep. A couple of hours later when he woke up again, when he opened his eyes, he did not see anyone waiting on him. He heaved a sigh of relief. Without making a sound, he raised his hands and looked at them. They belonged to a baby, but they weren't the hands of a newborn baby.

'It is either I was always unconscious until now or I regained my self-awareness recently,' both are feasible deductions. Either way, his brain would have a buffer time to accommodate his adult conscience.

'I still find it unbelievable. Let alone having transmigrated and reborn, I find it extremely hard for this baby brain to keep up my thought process.' he thought.

'Anyway, to find out answers to those I need more data which I can collect through people around me. To do that I need to learn the language they were speaking. This is my priority right now. I am sleepy again. It seems my body truly cannot accommodate this high mental activity' thought Gunes and fell to sleep. 

During the next couple of months, he dedicated all his attention to learning the language of this new world. He managed to learn most of the language during the last couple of months. Having a fresh baby brain helps it seems. He also started to remember his memories part by part. At first, he just awakened with basic information about himself. However, he now knows that he was a sixty-year-old researcher from Earth. It is as if his brain processes all these memories gradually so that it doesn't fry itself. He can tell that because he requires an enormous amount of food just to spend for his mental activities. 

He is now sure that this world is not Earth. He did not learn this fact from his parent`s speech. Just looking at the sky made his heart palpitate because this planet`s clear sky is significantly brighter at night than the Earth. The stars were on average million times brighter and they covered the sky more densely. He still does not know whether he is in another universe but according to his observation, the physics he knows is still the same here. So, either the stars on average are a million times brighter or they are a thousand times closer to our solar system. This means that their solar system was inside a globular cluster where stars packed much closer as much as four thousand times closer to their current planet than the closest stars were to the Earth. This was important because if humanity here had the technology of the 22. Century Earth they would be able to travel interstellar distances, unlike Earth. Even with 22. Century technology sending living humans to the closest star four lightyears away was near impossible. It was too far. But here it is possible. 

'Alas, I will not see those days because of the level of technology they have at most 16. Centuries level. I do not know whether they invented black-powdered weapons.' Eren thought.
