Chapter 146

"Lorelei, let's make a deal." Impulse blurted out with his arm folded. It's been three minutes since their fight, and all his injuries have already regenerated. Lorelei has been dragging him around the mansion with his hair, killing every servant in the building. Seeing she didn't respond, he continued. "I can help take away your boredom. You are strong, and there is no one stronger than you. All your fights last for a short time, and they are all boring. Trust me. I felt the same way once in my old life."

She paid him no mind and used her whip to send a wind blade at a maid who was running for her life.

"Let me go, and in less than a year, I will be strong enough to rival, if not defeat you. You won't be bored." Impulse continued, tapping his arm. "If that doesn't interest you, I can offer you something else. I can give you another proposal. True Magic.

"The final test of humanity is coming, and with it, the sixth True Magic will emerge. Starfall Requiem: Song of Reality." Impulse said, coming up with the most powerful sounding power he could think. "Reality manipulation to the extreme, and I am the only one who knows how to obtain it even without the Greater Grail... I know you don't believe me, but think of it. There is that 1% chance I may be telling the truth. If you don't believe me, wait for one year, and you will regret it." He sighed, closing his eyes. "I will be going to sleep."

With that, he fell asleep, and when he opened his eyes again, he found himself laying on a hard surface. Everywhere was dark, pitch black. He couldn't even see his palm right in front of his eyes.

"Oh, wait. I have a blindfold on." Sitting up, Impulse tried to remove the blindfold, but a strong electricity current shot out of it, electrocuting him. He quickly let go, feeling his palm burnet which was slowly healing."It must be Lorelei who put this on me. I should be in their prison by now. Sealing my eyes was just safekeeping for them." Impulse mumbled, wrinkling his nose. Cement, piss, shit, all kinds of things invaded his nose.

Sitting up, Impulse took a deep breath. 'There is no way for me to use my eyes, so I should learn another way.' The first thing that came to mind was echolocation, but with mana. His magical energy control is already high enough to create a ball of pure magical energy ball in his palm without it scattering into the Greater Source or evaporating, so it should be easy.

Touching the cold ground, he felt concrete and some sands. Taking a deep breath, he sent magical energy waves through his palm and into the floor. The pulse of magical energy went out, but nothing happened.

'Of course, it won't. It's like telling a dog to look for something and not telling what to find.' Thought Impulse, lifting his arm once more and slamming it on the ground, simultaneously sending waves of mana, this time, telling them to detect vibrations in the floor to perceive objects, people, and other aspects of their environment, essentially acting as sonar. And it worked. He was able to 'see' everything in black and white, but only for an instant.

'Is this where I think it is?' Impulse thought, catching a 'glimpse' of something.

Sending out more magical energy waves, he preserves the surroundings to their utmost detail, even better than his eyes could. He was in an unfinished two-story apartment. Details like the weak point of the building, how many things were in the building, the homeless man sleeping on the bottom floor of the unfinished building, or how many irons pillars they used on the building flooded his mind.

'Did she let me go?' Impulse thought, using more magical energy to send out pulses. At the limit of his senses, he managed to "see" a car filled with three people, filled with three people. He wasn't seeing them, just sensing their general shape. 'Yeah, I am free. How could she believe such bullshit I sprouted? Either she is stupid, or she wanted to see if I am was telling the truth. Getting stronger than her in a year might be possible, but the part about true magic is complete nonsense.'

Shaking his head, Impulse stood up. He should have the ability to scan the entire city or town he is in and formulate a plan. Removing his shoes, he took a step, sending out waves of mana. Using this, he quickly maneuvered through the building, climbing the stairs and reaching the roof of the unfinished building.

'I don't know the time of day, but it is probably still the night. Eh, who cares.'

Taking a deep breath, he pushed some magical energy to his feet before sending it out in one big pulse. With this pulse, he was able to get his general location figured out. He was in a city, about 313.2 mi² in size, with more than 1.9 million inhabitants. Thinking of a better way to do this without wasting time, he continuously sent wave after waves of Prana through the city.

Ten seconds later, he was able to know the complete layout of the city. With this, he managed to find that there were 19 adapt Magus in the city, with 6 of them noticing his Prana pulse.

He also found the city he was in by reading multiple signs. He can't read writing with his magical energy sense but he can read letters that popped out like Braille.

"Fuyuki City." He mumbled, folding his arm. "The city where the past Holy Grail War occurred and where the fifth will come in two months. It seems like Lorelei wants me to win this war." He chuckled, his face turning serious. 'This is bad. How am I supposed to join!? According to Citlalmina, under ordinary circumstances, a Master is always a spellcaster, usually a Magus with a Magic Circuit, who is selected by the Grail. I am a strong Magus with a Magic Circuit with magic circuits, so it should choose me... right? Do one have to be born in Fuyuki City before the grail would start to consider you as a potential master? Can I steal a Servant? Yeah, I need to find a way to guarantee I become a master... and also learn more about this race of mine.'

He sent one more pulse of Prana out, noticing a Magus girl standing in the front of the abandoned building, staring at him who was standing at the roof. She stood 5'2" tall with long wavy hair in a two-side-up hairstyle. She wears a turtleneck, skirt, and long stockings under leather flats.

'I really should get used to using Mae Sense.' Impulse thought, residing to call his magical energy sense that, as he disappeared in a blur, his destination, a mansion giving out powerful magical energy. A house with the worms gave a more powerful magic pulse, but going there would be stupid as it was home to three Magus. One of them having a huge magical energy signature. The one he was going to was empty, so he decided to check it out.
