~~~Fist POV: Masaru Naoki~~~~
I immediately stabbed Diatrekhōn Astēr Lonkhē on the ground while shouting, "Kettō-ba!" A gold orb expanded outward with me in the middle, stopping after covering Titans Island and some ocean.
"Interesting. The spear created a separate dimension outside of space and time." The man said, looking around. "Interesting!"
"It seems you aren't some random villain." I said, spinning my spear. "We are the Dule Feild, a fair battleground between two opponents, where no gods, outside help, or elements of luck can intervene. It won't be released until one of us is defeated. For the battle, one rule of the battle can be set by each opponent, with each opponent having to agree to the rule. Do you understand?" I asked, inspecting his every movement.
"Yes." He said a smile on his face. Clapping his hand, he asked, "So what is your rule?"
"In this battle, only spears are allowed." I said, trying to see any reaction from the man.
Still smiling, he asked, "Are trident allowed?"
"It is a spear, isn't it?" I spat, getting annoyed by his lack of care.
"I agree with the rule then." He said, holding his right hand. Suddenly, a beautiful golden Trident appeared, and he grabbed onto it.
'Space control? That's why he could sense space being cut off from the battleground.' I thought, inspecting the trident. 'It would be a hard battle.'
He started spinning the Trident in a similar method as me, a smile still on his face. "My rule is simple. We will fight till one of us is dead."
Suddenly, I felt a strong urge not to accept such demands. Even Achilles within me was telling me not to accept the rule. "I don't accept." I said, obeying Achilles. After all, he is the battle master.
"Don't tell me you are scared of death?" He asked, tilting his head. "Or are you a hero and therefore can't kill me?"
"You deserve to rot in hell, but I won't be the one killing you." I said, slamming the bottom of my Diatrekhōn Astēr Lonkhē on the ground.
"Sure. My rule is me reducing my strength to match yours. Is that possible?" He asked, touching the middle spike on his trident.
'Cocky bastard.' I thought, "I agree."
"Haha... Ahahaha...Hahahahaha! I actually feel weaker." He laughed, a crazy grin on his face. "Fascinating!!!"
'He feels weaker? So he was stronger than I was before.' I thought, a smile on my face. 'We are equal strength now, so skill determines the winner. And no one best Achilles in spear skill. You are done.'
"Let us dual!" He shouted, slamming the bottom of his trident on the ground, a wave of energy going through the island. "Or like you said. Let's dance~"
With that, we both disappeared from our spot, clashing colliding in the middle. A large wave of energy erupted from us, uprooting all the trees in the area. We started throwing lightning-fast attacks at each other, our spears clashing against each other. The longer we attacked each other, the more my body got used to Achilles's power, and the stronger and faster I got.
Jumping back, I dashed forward, attacking with a barrage of stabs, each time striking at a different angle, different speed, and different strength. They were all deflected by the man before he hit me on the forehead with the bottom of his spear. Before I could regain my balance, he copied my attack, striking at all my vitals. I managed to deflect some attacks, but my right shoulder was stabbed, rendering it unusable.
"This is boring." The man said as he continued piercing his trident into my shoulder. "What the fuck was I expecting from a human. Got my hopes up for no reason."
"Don't look down on me!" I roared, grabbing the trident and kicking him on his stomach, sending him flying many meters back.
Sliding to a stop, he licked the tip of the middle trident spike, which had my blood in it. "Are you holding back or some shit? Because your blood holds some powers that you aren't using."
'What the fuck is wrong with him?' I thought, switching the spear from my right hand to my left. 'I am confident in my skill, but I am not stupid. Even after he made a rule to weaken himself to my level, he is still beating me. Who is he? I don't remember who he is from every comic I have read, and I have a perfect memory.'
Suddenly, I lost control of my body as it was taken over by someone else. Achilles.
"You are an interesting one. A man as strong as the Gods but wishes to be a mortal to have an interesting fight. I respect you." Achilles said in a calm tone as all his injuries healing and a golden aura flashing around his body.
'God!? What the heck!?' I thought, 'He originally as strong as a GOD!!!?'
"Oh?" The man finally seemed interested, "Possession? Interesting. And what do you mean, Gods? Tell me more."
"I know things that would make God envious and Demons jealous. But why should I tell you." Achilles' eyes radiated with a strong thirst for battle as he got in a battle position. "I have never fought someone with an equal level of speed as mine, so let's go."
They both disappeared as a green and red lightning streak, moving around the island at supersonic speed as they attacked each other with their spears. For a moment, it seemed as if Achilles was getting an upper hand, but the man quickly adapted, his spearmanship catching up to that of Achilles.
~~~~Thired POV~~~
Lond clings echoed through the island, multiple craters appearing. A red and purple streak disappeared and appeared as they clashed with each other. They moved up the side of the Titian Tower, constantly clashing. Their speed, strength, and skills were equally matched, giving none of them an advantage. With one last clash, all the glass on the Titans Tower shattered as they jumped back, standing meters away from each other at the top of the titian tower.
'He must have the Sharingan or something because he is copying all your spear skills and executing them perfectly.' Masaru thought. This is a conclusion he drew after watching the battle between Achilles and the man.
"This is great!" Achilles shouted, ignoring Masaru. "Only Chiron has gotten me this excited!"
"I would say the same for you." Impulse smiled, noticing who this mysterious spirit possessing this man is. It is Achilles, a hero of the Trojan War. During his research on immortality, he did his research in Greek, Roman, and Egyptian mythologies. Since this was a world of power, he assumed he will be able to assess these mythologies, and meeting Achilles has confirmed it. "Now, shall we end this?" With that, a concentrated blast of energy shot out, heading straight for Achilles.
The beam was fast, but Achilles managed the doge it. The man kept shooting more beams at Achilles, who managed to dodge all of them. With a green flash, Achilles appeared behind the man, stabbing him at his back. A barrier of energy surrounded him, stopping the spear.
Gripping the trident tighter, a wave of energy erupted from it, pushing Achilles back. As he was about to fall off the roof of the Titian Tower, his neck was grabbed, and the Trident was impaled through his stomach.
"Wha-what?" Achilles asked, shocked that a weapon was able to hurt him.
"You lost, Achilles, student of Chiron. Your entire body, excluding your heel, boasts the blessing of immortality, which negates all attacks from those who don't possess Divinity. Thankfully, this Trident is the Trident of Neptune. The Trident of a God." Impulse said, looking straight into Achilles. "Now, tell me. Where can I find this Styx, the infernal river?"
"Hahaha. The Trident of Neptune. Who would have thought Neptune would give his weapon to a mortal." Achilles laughed, coughing blood on the man's face. "But, even I don't know the location of Styx."
"Really?" Impulse asked as he started twisting the Trident. "That's a shame."
Before he could pull out the spear, time slowed down, and he looked to the side, noticing Flash running his way. Flash suddenly stopped in his spot, with Impulse letting go of the Trident and casually walking to Flash. He stopped in front of him, removing the mask and inspecting the person behind the mask.
"Wally West." Impulse mumbled, a smile appearing on his face. "So Barry died, and you became the new Flash? I will have fun playing with you."
"Father, we have to go." Sentry said, suddenly appearing beside him.
"How fast can you move?" Impulse asked as he placed the mask back on Wally's face.
"99% the speed of light. But, enough about that, Father. Many heroes are coming our way." Sentry said, walking back to Achilles and pulling out the Trident.
"You think we can't kill them?" Impulse asked, his skin and cloth cleaning themselves.
"Yes. Someone named Zatanna is coming with them. The danger I felt from her is mysterious. We can't risk it. She MAY be able to kill us." Sentry said, walking back to his father.
"Zatanna..." Impulse mumbled, fixing his glove. "Ok. Take that boy, and we will be on our way."
Sentry grabbed Masaru before they both disappeared.
