Chapter 1: Order and Chaos, Stasis and Flux

He wasn't there. Where was he?

Her eyes opened wide, and quickly closed at the shock of sunlight that lit their bedroom. Blinking, she looked at the clock: 8:18am. Not a bad wake up time, about the same time she usually woke up, anywhere between 7:30am and 8:30am, just the way she liked. She looked at the empty sheets beside her and smirked. She already knew exactly what that dork was up to. He had already woken up by 5:00am, timed the route to the gym, timed his workout, and timed his return, which should be right about…

At 8:30am the door to their house opened, and in walked Order, already in his suit, hair slicked down with gel, not a hair out of place.

"I'm off to work Chaos! I'll be back this afternoon" he said.

They embraced, smiling. She could feel his heart beating, the chaos inside of his order. He could feel the rhythm of her breath, the order inside of her chaos.

"Have a good day! I love you, bye!"

They exchanged goodbyes for the day, Order on his way to the accounting firm, and Chaos going to the studio to work on her latest art piece.

—————Stasis and Flux, after work—————-

Flux sat in the tidy living room, playing the electric guitar as fast as his fingers could move. He had been engrossed all day trying to come up with a new song for him and the band to play. There was a knock at the door, Flux darted over, and checked his phone. 5:30pm. He grinned, it was definitely her, it both impressed him and annoyed him at how on schedule she always was. He flung the door open and pulled the well dressed woman with an impeccable hairstyle waiting on the other side into his arms. He grinned, she blushed.

"I missed you so much! How was work?" He beamed

She smiled, embracing him back and feeling the hotness of her blushing on her cheeks. "It was the same dork, I have a hard time believing you really missed me considering I'm gone for the same amount of time each day" she said, playfully rolling her eyes.

"Then let me show you through this song"

He cleared his throat, walked back to the guitar, and picked it up.

"I missed youuu" he strummed once, letting the chord finish and blend into the surrounding sounds

Stasis sarcastically clapped as she smiled at Flux. "Ok rockstar, let's get some dinner" She came to his side and gave him a kiss on the cheek, and headed to their kitchen, dropping off her keys and belongings the same places she always put them.
