Granted by the omniscient being a new life in a new world, our protagonist who desires to have an adventure begun his journey as an adventurer in the universe of One Piece. *The usual stuff about One Piece is not my property and I own nothing but the OC in this story blabla *My first attempt at writing a novel/fanfic in general and there might be some grammar mistakes here and there as English is not my native language
As the sunshine refract from the windows of the room hit a sickly and pale young man on the bed, he woke up while looking around him and muttered "Haih… I'm still alive…..". Not moving an inch after waking up he just looked at the ceiling and reminiscing his life here in the hospital. His name is Wilson Arnia and basically all hospital staff knows him as they are his only family for the last 8 years.
He's not always alone, in fact he use to have a loving family of 4 which were his parents and little sister. But they passed away in an incident 8 years ago that led him to lie in bed waiting for the embrace of death day after day since then. He always blame himself that they died because of him, because of this stupid illness that make him faint on his birthday, their family are on their way to the hospital to get him checked by the doctors but little did they know that fate decided that they will not come back.
On the bed with countless monitoring devices, wires, tubes et cetera is Wilson planning his activities for the day. Not that he could do much at all being paralysed neck down from the incident rendered him pretty much incapable of doing anything by himself and to make things worse the illness that cause the tragic loss of his family was diagnosed as an unknown illness that has been slowly chipping away his life since that day.
'Creak'. The door of his room opened while his still daydreaming of things to do. From the looks of it a young nurse smiling as bright as the sunshine appears and said "Good Morning Wilson. I'm going to change your medication and collection pouch for today okay? After we've settled with that what are you going to do today?". He reply with a smile on it's own "Good morning sister Zara. Hahahaa go on with it, it's not like I don't know the routine everyday, you've been announcing the same things since we've known each other 8 years ago. Hmm if I'm not mistaken today new chapters of some of the mangas that I've been reading will come put right? Maybe reading that then watch some shows that are available.".
"You know that it's the protocol right Wilson" she said while smiling. "Hmm after I've finished with this I'll bring your tablet and help you with the reading". Wilson nodded his head in understanding "Alright sister Zara, can you also bring some water with you later?". "Sure Wilson, I'll be back in around 30 minutes with the replacement for your nutrients fluid and all". "Alright then, can you close the blind a bit? I'm gonna sleep for a while before you came back.". "Done, I'll wake you up later.". "Thanks" he replied not knowing that this is probably the last time they'll see each other.
After sister Zara close the door Wilson close his eyes feeling a lot comfortable than usual and slowly his consciousness began fleeting away with the ringing and blaring of multiple alarm from the monitoring devices without him feeling anything Wilson soul passed away from the body that has shackled him for the last 8 years. When the alarm continues ringing multiple healthcare personnel storms into his room. Doctors, nurses, CPR team and lastly his caretaker, sister Zara. When the doctor begun ordering for the CPR team to begin with the compression, sister Zara yelled at them and says "STOP!! Don't you guys see his face? His peaceful expression being freed from his shackle and burden? Please, just let him go peacefully now."
Everyone in the room stop what they're doing while sister Zara is unplugging the monitoring devices that keeps making sound. She then went to the side of the bed looking to the face of the young man that she has taken care of for the last 8 years and spoke lightly but still clear for everyone in the room to hear "It seems it's your time now Wilson. I know how hard has it been for you this past 8 years but at least you go away peacefully. If there is a next life, I truly hope that you'll able to live the life you've always wanted. Goodbye Wilson" while slowly stroking the face that is still warm to the touch not knowing that a drop of her tears fell on the young man face.
An orb floating around in a dark space in the void suddenly fluttered and gains it's consciousness after what seems like an eternity. Yes that floating orb is the soul of Wilson our protagonist. "Yawnnnn, wow that was probably the best nap I've had in a while. Hmm sister will be back soon right." Trying to open his eye Wilson was hit by a sudden realisation "Where am I ???! Huh???! Why is it all dark? Where's all the monitors? Fluid bags? Huh?!!!" While thinking about that he finally realised "Oh, It seems like I'm dead. But is this all there is to death? Damn, I thought it would be more to my imagination regarding of heaven and hell but whatever. Floating for eternity like this is not so bad either I guess". While floating around Wilson hummed to some tunes while going through his memories imagining about the stories that he has read not knowing an entity is gazing his sight on him curiously.
