As I pondered on Gabriel’s words, I felt movement in my arms. I looked down and saw Reiré’s expression twisting in pain.
“Ugh…”
“Reiré?! Are you alright?! Actually, probably not,” I answered myself. “Dumb question. Can you hear me?”
“Cheri…”
Reiré mumbled out a name I didn’t recognize. When she opened her eyes, it was clouded, like she wasn’t fully there. Her body was also cold. I only then noticed the purple lips and the bluish skin tone. She slowly lift her hand and I quickly held onto it.
“You lost a lot of blood, so don’t move around,” I advised.
“Is that… why I feel light-headed?” she whispered.
“No, that’s probably because of the stone that was flung at your head,” I corrected.
“Wha?”
I sheepishly smiled, “Sorry, not a good time for a skit.”
Reiré tried to sit up only to groan. “Ugh! Everything… hurts…”
