No time gotta go

Hi, I'm josh and my quirk makes me really fast and durable. How fast and how durable? I don't know. Never really tested it. My quirk is mutant though, so things do get annoying.

How? Well, ever try to have a conversation with someone who talks slow? Yeah, it's like that, but worse. And I don't have perfect control either. I mean, if I'm not paying attention the world slows down. If I'm tired the world slows down. If I run or move with vigor, I have to control my movement's so I don't go to fast.

It's a constant struggle. Luckily I got into this hero school or I would have moved somewhere I could practice control.

Hero School! You want to be a hero?!

Hell No!

I want to be a massage therapist. The hero course is to gain control and not be criticized for having no control in public. It's so if I ever slip up or want to travel somewhere fast, I don't have to take a car.

I'm not very heroic. I can't yet imagine I can save people either. Sure, I could get someone out of a burning building but at what cost? A broken neck, along with every other bone. Lacerated wounds and holes. Not on me, but the people I save. With super speed comes unparalleled durability, but I cant share it.

If I carry someone and they hit a little fly or a small piece of dust, there gonna be a hole. It may be small or even microscopic, but it's a hole nonetheless. And this type of hole is not good.

Which hero school? Some place called Motomachi Hero High, some high school not known for anything. It seems a little old, but that could just mean they don't have funding for maintenance. My first class is today.

…I hope it's not too slow…

Many types of students could be seen entering the school. Nervous students, excited students, bored students, happy students, and unique students. All of them had school uniforms on, white collard long sleeve shirts with a dark blue tie and dark blue pants or skirts.

Josh had the same attire as he walked to the door in a very controlled manner. His yellow eyes and short blue hair offsetting his fashion style to look odd. His foreign face and sharp and handsome features. His properly proportioned body fitting to his six foot height.

He really was a head turner. Josh could see many girls and even some guys looking at him with appreciation. He even saw some not so welcome stares.

Josh made his way to class and looked around the building. It was plain and barren of color. White walls and dark blue and white checker pattern tiles on the floor. Big doors littered the walls with letters and numbers colored in dark blue.

Coming up on his classroom, josh looked at the letter and number. 1-M, supposedly the top for mutant quirks.

Upon entering, Josh noticed half the class already was there. Some were talking and making friends a few seemed to be eyeing him and trying to discern his quirk, this was a mutant class after all.

Animal related mutant quirks were genetically popular after all. If you weren't a modern animal, you could be a prehistoric or made-up one. Some unlucky people had guns or knives as fingers or other appendages.

From the animal list, josh could see a shark, a cat, two tigers, an elephant, a rabbit, a wolf, a frog, a lizard and a cow.

Of course, they didn't all look exactly like the animal. The shark only had a shark head, the cat had whiskers, a tail behind and cat ears on her head, the tiger girls had stripped hair and tail, whiskers, and small, round ears, the elephant had only a head, the rabbit had white and pink ears on her head, and a white puffy tail behind, the wolf looked like the wolfman mask from OPM, the frog girl had big frog like eyes and her tongue out the corner of the mouth, the lizard man had a powerful lizard-like tail and looked like small Rak from Tower of God and the cow girl had two cow-like horns on her head.

Josh didn't pay attention to the obvious stares and went to the back of the class, taking window a seat. The next second the door opened again, and the classes attention was back away from him.

Josh saw five more people come in and then the teacher. The teacher was like a Minotaur. He was huge, at least 8 feet tall, huge muscles the size of Josh's head, two bull horns and a bull head. He had grey fur, but it was covered with his tight teacher uniform.

"My name is Ikari Minotaurosu, you can call me Sensei! No exceptions! Now, everyone follow me to the locker rooms to change and after to the field for your first assessment!" Sensei exclaimed.

The whole class eventually reached the field and there was a standardized physical testing set up.

"Now, since people with mutant quirks aren't usually allowed to do standardized physical testing in middle school, everyone will be setting new personal records today using quirks! Now! Kasha Somi, your first for the 50 meter dash!" Sensei said.

The cat girl, Kasha Somi was up. She got up to the start and when the stop light turned green, she was off. Her time was 5.48 seconds, pretty normal. Josh thought she was beyond slow, I mean he could beat her just by walking.

Next were the two twin tigers named Hana Tora and Sakura Tora. They both got a respectable 4.83 and 4.89 seconds. Then the elephant named Daisuke Zo, got a powerful 8.41. Josh fell asleep for a brief 5 seconds of that; of course, it was a lot longer to him.

The next up was the rabbit girl called Rumi Usagiyama. She got a 2.49 and gave a fierce and challenging grin to everyone. Josh didn't care how fierce she looked, she was still slow to him.

The next up was the wolf guy named Chikao Okami. He got a 4.57. Then the frog girl named Riri Kaeru who got a 5.68. After that, it was the lizard guy's turn who got a 6.04. Lastly, out of the ones Josh paid any attention to, was the cow girl named Suki Ushi who got a 5.01.

Josh was finally up and when he got up to the line, the Sensei ordered, "No holding back Josh!"

Josh looked over at his new Sensei and asked, "Are you sure?"

"Did I stutter?!" Sensei smirked.

"…Fine..." josh looked bored but he had a glint in his eye.

The light turned yellow, the world started to slow down to Josh. He could see a fly's wings flap as it flew by.

Josh watched as the LED's slowly turned green. The moment the whole light was green, Josh's world slowed down to a stop. The same fly was seemingly stuck in the air. As josh moved his shadow got longer, it seemed as though light couldn't even keep up with him.

Flit!

To all others, Josh teleported to the finish line. No one could perceive him. At this point, Ikari Minotaurosu was grinning like a madman. His eyes were shining.

Rumi, the rabbit girl, had a slight frown but an excited and fierce glint in her eyes. She was staring at Josh with challenge in her eyes. However, Josh Didn't seem to notice, and if he did, he didn't care. After josh, some more people went but no one notable.

The next test was the grip strength test. Everyone seemed pretty confident in this one. No surprise, everyone got in between 100kg to 1000kg. Josh got 646kg. Then was the standing long jump. Josh got just over the box; some bird guy who could fly one. Repeated side steps was another josh dominated in. When doing sit-ups and toe touches, Rumi and the 3 feline descendants won, along with the frog girl.

In the distance run, Josh obviously got the fastest time. The ball throw was intense. People had been hyped up from the last tests and had started to try their hardest. Even Josh, who didn't to be a hero, was smiling slightly.

Several throws later, it was Josh's turn. The current high score was 2,583m, held by Rumi. She had kicked the ball with some homemade super-move called Lunar-something. She smirked at Josh as she passed him, coming to take his turn. His face was blank as he walked to the launch zone, no expression shown.

As he picked up the ball, Minotaurosu Sensei told him not to hold back again, like he had every other time. Josh didn't really think it was needed, but he decided to try a little at least.

As Josh pulled his arm back, the world around him slowed down. Then, Josh simply threw it. In the slowed down time, it seemed to be moving normal speed, however when it got to a normal peak, it didn't continue in an arc down, it just kept going up.

Boom!

In normal speed, Josh's arm reached super sonic speeds as he released the ball. The ball disappeared into the clouds leaving a gaping hole in its place. After another 30 seconds the sensor finally picked up and the score was revealed.

30,000m!

Josh didn't have any change in expression, however everyone else did. Most had disbelief as they heard the sensor call out the distance, while others had amazement or even slight embarrassment.

Now that the tests were over the score board was up, Josh got to see with bored eyes that he had gotten first place followed up by Usagiyama Rumi.

There were only 15 people in the class, quite little compared to others Josh had seen. Of course the size of the school wasn't big, so it wasn't too surprising. After the test results were out the students and teacher went back to the classroom for other introductions and after that, there was a free period.

During the free period most of the students thought it would be a good idea to get acquainted with one another.

"Hey, I'm Surudoi Hiro, you can call me Hiro. My quirk is Shark Head! I can eat anything I can chomp and the rest is pretty self explanatory! I want to become a hero because I want to be famous!" The shark headed teen smiled a 300 teeth wide grin after introducing himself.

The cat girl was up next as she took the opportunity to say, "Wow! My name's Somi Kasha, You can call me Kasha! My quirk is Cat! I'm a cat! I want to be a hero because I think I can save people!"

The two tiger twins looked at the cat girl in slight challenge, "Our names are, Tora Hana and Tora Sakura, you can call us Hana and Sakura. We have the quirk tiger. We are twins. We want to be hero's to show the world that Tigers are the most majestic animals!"

"Ok… Well, my name is Zo Daisuke, you should call me Daisuke! My quirk is Elephant! I have the physiology of an elephant on two legs! I want to be a hero to meet All Might!" Daisuke interrupt the awkward silence,

"My name is Omani Chikao, Chikao is good. My Quirk is wolf-man. I have the abilities of a wolf. I want to be a hero to practice my martial arts!" The wolfman said gravely.

"My name is Kaeru Riri, Riri is fine by me! My quirk is Tree Frog! I have all the skills of a tree frog in the jungle! I want to be your hero because the pay is good!" The excited frog girl said.

"My name is Ushi Suki, Suki is preferred. My quirk is Bull! I have all the abilities of a bull! I want to be here to be the best person I can be!" The cow girl said animatedly.

"My name is Tokage Kenji, Kenji is good! My quirk is called lizard! I want to be a hero like the ninja turtles!"The lizard guy said curtly.

"Hmph! My name is Usagiyama Rumi, Rumi for short! My quirk is Rabbit! I became a hero to battle strong opponents!" The Rabbit girl snorted.

It was Josh's turn next, but when they turned to him, he was asleep. Unfortunately, Rumi smacked the back of his head and he woke up with a start. Josh looked around and remembered what he was doing and started to talk.

"Hello. My name is Josh. My quirk is called Speedster. Im really fast. I want to be a hero to learn control." Now, Josh could just say he doesn't really want to be a hero at all, but that would make him an outcast. It's a school for people who want to be hero's for crying out loud.

The rest of the people from the class introduced themselves too, but Josh slept through it. Some others thought he was rude, but many thought it was an after affect of his quirk.

The day was kinda screwed up because it was the first day today. Next period was lunch and then they would be let home early.

On the lunch period, Josh amazed his class when he ate the food portion of 5 people. Over lunch they got to know each other better and some found their interests to be similar.

Josh zoned out, but he tried to listen without falling asleep from being full. It's his bad habit, for normal people who talk slow, he would unconsciously stare off into space and involuntarily speed up his perception.

"Josh! When we get to fight, I challenge you, OK?!" Rumi shouted at Josh, who was zoned out.

Rumi noticed Josh was zoned out and squinted while getting ready for a smack.

Whack

Josh, who was hit in the side of the head, returned to himself presumably un-injured. "Huh?" Josh asked.

"Damn it, bastard! I said I challenge you to a fight!" Rumi growled.

"Oh, ok, right now?" Josh asked.

"Well since your offering, yeah! Let's go to the fields right now!" Rumi grinned fiercely.

"Ok" josh slowly got up. He was a head taller than her, she looked short in comparison.

Rumi's face was had a permanent smile as she and Josh made their way to the field. Her smile wasn't really nice though. Although she was one of the hottest girl in school, voted anonymously, she was known from middle school to have a fierce attitude and volatile life style. Though, no one was really close enough to say for sure that she was like this outside of school, people couldn't change too much, unless of course they were two faced.

When the two classmates got to the field, Rumi immediately stated the rules and stakes. "All right! No serious injuries and irreparable damage! We go until one of us is knocked out or gives up!" She was smiling widely, "If I win I'll do what you want and the same vice versa! Deal?!"

Although Josh was a little confused about why the stakes were so high, he didn't think too much about it. "Okay, I guess that's fine by me."

"Great! When this human benchmark test turns green, we'll go! Ready?!" Rumi took out her phone and laid it to the side. Josh nodded. He was always ready, even unintentionally.

Red…

Green!

Swoosh!

Rumi took the initiative to kick at Josh's head with her powerful bunny legs. Josh was different and went on defense, dodging with precision.

Josh threw a punch and Rumi dodged while going for a kick.

The two exchanged blows over and over, however Rumi soon noticed that Josh was only ever moving as fast as herself, if not just a little faster. She frowned, "Bastard! Give me a real fight! Use that speed you showed in the test!"

Josh also frowned, "The last time I attacked with more strength than my opponent, the fight ended. I don't have perfect control, and you seemed to be enjoying the fight. I didn't want to ruin it for you." Josh showed his soft side, different to his normal bored facade.

Josh was a soft spoken person. He liked to keep to himself. One would think the girl across from him would sympathize, but…

"Dont give me that mushy shit! Hit me!" Rumi sneered.

"…Fine…" Josh knew it wouldn't be that easy to get his way with her so he could only concede to her needs first.

Faster then the blink of an eye, Josh's fist was planted on her stomach. He gave her a light punch at super speed, which was more than enough to knock someone out.

Thud!

And it was enough as Rumi was now laying on her back 30 ft away, comically foaming from the mouth.

Josh picked her up on his back and carried her to the nurses office. He wasn't very surprised with the outcome as he had done this before to a mugger. Though he didn't carry the mugger.
