Chapter 110: Second Thoughts

“Wake up, Kalyssa.” Xander kissed my neck as he whispered in my ear. “It’s time to get up.”

I rolled over, hugging my pillow to me. “I don’t want to.”

“But we have a surprise for you.” There was a pause, and then Elias kissed my neck.

My heart sank. I knew I would have to speak with them both, but I didn’t want it to be now.

“Let me sleep.” I curled up, holding the pillow tightly to my chest. “Let’s talk tomorrow.” I knew I was acting like a child, but I didn’t care. I wanted to put off this conversation as long as possible.

“But you’ve been in bed for more than twenty-four hours now,” Elias said, a smile in his voice. “We didn’t bother you because we knew you needed time to rest and recharge. But I think it’s time to get up.”

I turned over, my eyes wide as I sat up, trying to gain my bearings. “What?”
