Chapter 23: Greengrass

I am currently waiting for the Greengrass family to come to my house. My mother did ask me if I wanted to go through with this marriage, and I just said," I don't like being forced into things."

We are waiting on Daphne, Astoria and lord Greengrass. When they come here, we will tell them that we don't want to go through with the marriage contract.

(Daphne's mom died due to blood curse, I am not too sure if this is a part of cannon.)

My entire family is in the living room currently. I am reading an Engineering Textbook like I am reading a novel. My sister has been fiddling with my Magi-Phone prototype with my parents.

After waiting for about half an hour, the trio we were waiting for flamed in. Lord Greengrass hugged my parents as a greeting. He was planning on hugging me, and I accepted it begrudgingly. Daphne dressed up really well, well she dressed up neatly for someone her age.

We soon sat down and Lord Greengrass immediately said," Well, why don't we get down to the matter at hand, I already have a Magical contract and the engagement rings ready."

I didn't say anything, I am planning to see how my mother will deal with this issue, but just to be sure nothing fishy is going on, I used legimency to read Lord Greengrasses thoughts.

'As long as they agree, Shawn will most likely be willing to heal Astoria, and according to Daphne, he already has a cure in mind. I also need their resources to expand our families business, luckily enough, Daphne doesn't seem to mind marrying Shawn.'

Wow, then this will be easy to deal with.

"Lord Greengrass, we don't know any easy way to put this, but our family does not wish to continue with this engagement." My father said bluntly to the mans face.

Lord Greengrass was enraged, you could see it in his aura and face. Daphne seemed heartbroken. Astoria was too young to understand anything, but she is sad for her sister.

"Why, were you not the one who contacted me a few years ago? Now, you want to back out?" He asked trying to calm down.

My parents didn't exactly do a good job in calming him down, so I chipped in," As an apology to the Greengrass family we will release a statement through the Daily Prophet saying that this is our fault, and as compensation, we were planning on giving you 5% of our houses businesses, (Does not include potions stores of Mc) and I will cure your daughter without any cost."

He looked straight at me and asked," That still doesn't answer the question of why?"

"It's because I wasn't in the right state of mind Lord Greengrass, I am sure you know regarding my incident with, He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. I then proceeded to arrange this with you without informing my son and asking for his opinion." My mother tried to take the entire blame, to be fair that is what had happened.

"And I don't like to be forced into things like an engagment without my permission." I spoke out.

Lord Greengrass looked straight into my mothers eyes and asked with venom in his tone," Are you sure you are in your right mind now?" He was basically asking, 'You sure you still not a crazy bitch!'

My father who has been in politics for a while, understood what Lord Greengrass was implying, but was held back my mother, who was just keeping her head down.

I didn't exactly like this scene, even if she has been crazy, I won't exactly fly with someone insulting my mother.

"Be warned Lord Greengrass, your daughters' life is in my hands." I said, changing my aura to that of anger.

"Are you threatening me boy!" He shouted enraged with the entire predicament.

"Since this entire incident is our fault, I am willing to tell you a way to save your daughter, or with the way things are going right now, and with the snails pace Magic advancements without me, your daughter will not be cured, no one will be able to help her."

He then sat down and calmed down." What is the way to save her."

I just smiled and said," Actually it's extremely simple, she can either change into a werewolf, or she can go through a ritual and purify her blood. She can only do so when she reaches her second maturation though, if not she will not survive."

He at first seemed angry at the thought of me telling her to become a werewolf, then calmed down hearing that I could cure her.

After we had discussions regarding what would happen finished, the trio left. First Lord Greengrass then Astoria. Daphne was still really saddened as was about to leave when I stopped her.

"Even though we won't get married, we can still hang out as friends and get to know each other, who knows we might really marry each other in the future." I said with a smile.

She started tearing up and just nodded and left with a smile.

The following day, even though we released an official statement regarding the engagment, but that wasn't on the front page, something else was.

' MINISTY OF MAGIC AND DOROLES UMBRIDGE OFFICIALLY APOLOGIZE TO SHAWN MARKUS

Just yesterday the Ministry had contacted us at the Prophet that they wanted to officially apologies to Shawn Markus regarding their behavior towards him.

The Minister of Magic has said that he is 'deeply ashamed' regarding his own behavior towards this incident.

The main thing is that, Doroles Umbridge has said,' I am deeply ashamed by my actions. Looking back, even though I only meant for the betterment of the magical community I had unknowingly costed huge problems, and for this I am deeply sorry.''

No way she said that willingly.

Anyway, now that they have apologized, I met with Fudge to till him about the Magi-Phone. You should have seen the look on his face when I told him I wouldn't have given him the phones if they didn't apologies soon.

And like that I have sold another 10,000 phones.

Now I have completely set up my spy network, wait no, communication network, across the world.

"Are you sure he is ready for such a thing Headmaster, geniuses all over the would will gather there and this won't just be potion making, he might actually get hurt." Professor McGonagall asked in worry.

"He will be fine, besides, Flitwick will teach him personally for a few days so he won't be too hurt, I am really worried about the other two. They need to train a lot to not lose too badly." Snape said.

"I agree Minevera, besides, they will need the experience, this is crucial, especially for Harry." Dumbledore said.

"But Headmaster, even if Mr. Markus can handle himself, I strongly disagree in sending Mr. Potter, he is not ready." McGonagall, said.

" They will be fine, now, get Miss Granger and Shawn to return, call them in with Harry, I will talk with them. I had to do a lot to get this invite, so I hope they will do well." Dumbledore said while putting down a letter.

The title of the letter was, 'Dueling completion.'
