Arachnophobia

It felt like I was dreaming, could this truly be real? I put away my scythe and went back to my seat. "What were you doing", Enzo asked me. "I was using the bathroom". He stayed quiet for a minute. "I'm sorry for what I said earlier, I didn't mean to disrespect your name". "It's fine, happens all the time". "I'm sure your mother is an amazing person", he smiled. For the first time in a long time, I barely even smiled. "I was adopted by an American couple. They raised me in Utah with them. They decided to let me have a Japanese name and named me Kisu". "Odd"? "Yeah, so when they decided to move to Japan I truly became 'odd' to everyone else". "I'm sorry". "It's fine, I'm sure you had it harder than me anyways".

I hung my head. Eventually I fell asleep. I awoke to Macy shaking me awake. "We're here". I got up and watched as Enzo stayed on the jet. "Are you not coming Enzo"? "No, I'm staying here and setting up the station, you guys will need me while you're there". Macy and I left and arrived at a park. "Why are we here"? "Arachne lives here, just over there", she pointed to a really dark part of the park. We crept over there and saw her spinning a web with her hands. "Arachnophobia", Macy shouted her name. She quickly turned and wrapped Macy's legs in a web. "Dammit"! "You really think I'd let you kill me that easily"? One more spider girl came out of a hole in the ground. "God"!

I pulled out my scythe and swung it, knocking the girl's arm off. She screamed as she pushed me, I fell on her web. I tried to get up but I couldn't. I slightly moved my scythe and was able to cut my way out. I slammed my scythe into her back and felt the biggest rush of my life. So much life energy went into me so quickly. I pulled the scythe out and watched as her soul left came out with it. It was like a dead, blue, transparent version of her. "Woah", I exclaimed. "Synthia", Arachne shouted her name. I ran up to her and swung my scythe. She dodged it and wrapped a web around my throat. She threw me against her web and started to wrap me in it. Macy was stuck right next to me. Arachne was preparing to eat us. "What do we do", I asked.

"Figure out how to get out of this web first"! I tried moving my scythe but it didn't work. I watched as Arachne approached me with a sinister grin. My first mission I was going to die, I knew I should've stayed at home. Suddenly everything became blue, my vision changed. It became so easy to move. I used my scythe to cut through the web and then raised it in the air. I was going to slice off Arachne's head and get another rush. "Please, no, don't kill me! I promise I'll stop working for my boss, I'll even help you guys. I'm sure that's what you're here for, right"! I smiled and dropped my scythe. "Wait Kira", Macy stopped me. My vision went back to normal. "We won't kill her.... but she will have to join our team". Arachne stood up and her legs turned into normal human legs. "What the-"?

"I promise.... I'll be a good member. But I can't ever come back to Vancouver or the others will kill me". "Okay, we won't have to come back here. Luckily you were the only monster living out here". "But you will need to tell us about you guys' operations", I stepped him. She agreed and we took her back to the jet. Enzo quickly grabbed a gun and pointed it at Arachne. "Wait, is she holding you guys hostage, what's going on"? "No, we decided to recruit her. She's a part of the team now". Enzo slowly put the gun away and calmed back down. "How are you guys doing things"?
