MINE

I wake up early even though it's weekend. Maybe because I'm already used to it and my brother is an early bird too. Our parents are staying in New York because they run a business there and they make us study here in Los Angeles. I do miss them sometimes but having my brother with me is really fine enough since he really cares alot about me.

I take a shower and get ready as usual then I go downstairs to the kitchen and there I see him eating his cereals.

"Morning" Leo greets me.

"Morning" I take a seat infront of him while drinking his glass of juice.

"You have plans today?" I asked him.

"Yes actually. I'm going to the book store with Lucas. Want anything from there?" He asked with a smile.

If only I can say that I want Lucas instead.....

"Nothing.. Edward will come over this afternoon anyways" I replied.

"What do you mean this afternoon?"

We both look toward where the voice came from and it turns out to be Edward who is holding my cereal box while eating it.

"Edward! You said you will be here by afternoon. What are you doing here so early anyways?" I asked him but I'm not that surprised because Ed always barges into the house since he got the keys that I gave him incase if anything happens.

Edward takes a seat next to Leo while still munching on the cereals. "I got up early and straightly come here because I feel lonely at home" He said.

Couldn't blame him though. His mother died when he was in a young age and now his father is barely at home due to his work. But since Edward is the only child, he gets all the love from his father and he can be spoiled too.

"Don't you want milk?" Leo asked Edward and Ed nodded his head.

Leo gets up from his seat and grabs a clean bowl and a glass of juice. Then he brings it to Edward and pours the cereal and milk and gives it to him. Leo treats Edward like his own little brother too. He trusted Edward as much as I do and I know Edward treats us like his own siblings.

"Thank you” Ed smiles brightly and Leo nodded while ruffling his hair.

Looking back to when I first met Edward was such a pretty good memory. I found him asking for help on the playground where he couldn't get down from the monkey bars that he climbed on. He was too scared to get down by himself so I helped him.

"Hey Ed, do you want anything from the book store?" Leo asked him who is eating cereals.

"Mhhmm! You know.. that one new comic book that just came out? I forgot the name but can you send the photo to me to make sure it's the right book?" Edward asked innocently.

"Alright. I'll inform it to you. If you guys are hungry, just go order something. I know you both can't cook so don't even try. I don't want to come home to a burned down house" Leo said while walking away.

"I can cook..." I quietly mumbled but Edward hears it and he begins to giggle like a kid.

"You can't.. Remember the omelette you tried to cook by yourself? It burnt" He mocked me while still giggling.

"Do you want me to kick you?"

"You can't kick me. I'm too cute for that" He smiles cutely and it makes me smile. He is indeed cute and such a nice guy. I'm glad I'm his friend.

On the afternoon, Leo left us and we both decided to play video games. Edward is a pretty good gamer but sometimes he lose to me.

"You know that Jake guy?" Edward asked me while playing the game.

"Yeah"

"He is too flirty. I bet he is a playboy. Maybe he’s one of those cringy boys”

"What makes you think like that? I mean he can be quite seductive. It’s just something about his aura that seems so... captivating"

Edward pauses the game and looks at me seriously in the eyes. "Seriously? Captivating? All I can see is he’s being a creep since he kept staring at you while you were busy having your eyes allover Lucas"

"Tsk! What should I do? I know I'm that gorgeous" I flip my hair, earning a pillow smack from Edward.

"I'm serious. His eyes are... evil. It’s that look as if you’re his prey" Edward said with his eyebrows furrowed.

"Edward please.. He is a new kid. Maybe he’s never seen a pretty girl like me that's why he took the chance to stare at me like that. You don't need to worry about it, I know I always have you to protect me. Right?" I smile at him and he remains silent.

"Eddie?" I asked him again and he slowly nodded his head.

"I'm your knight in shining armor so of course I'll protect you" He grins widely and I just rolled my eyes as we both continue to play the game.

Later on, Edward gets sleepy and he told me that he wants to take a nap for awhile. So I close the video game and make him sleep in my room. It's nothing new.

"Can I hug your arm?" Ed asked while lying on the bed.

I sighed and sit next to him on the bed while playing with my phone so that he can hug my arm to help him falling asleep.

"What time did you go to bed last night?" I asked Edward who is now already shuts his eyes, preparing to sleep.

"I don't know.. Around 2 AM? I'm still tired" His deep voice replied and soon after, he fell asleep.

I poke his cheek while he is sleeping but he didn't even budge. Without my knowing, I begin to stare at his face and it’s weird to see the boy I used to play hide and seek with is now a grown up. I could see his facial hair is starting grow but he always shaves them since he prefers it that way.

Edward is really handsome. Why doesn’t he has a girlfriend? He is quite popular too but I never see him hanging out with another girl other than me. I know he can be shy around girls but they adore him since he has this puppy like behaviour and plus, he is a nice guy with good heart and a cute boxy smile. Who can resist them?
