"It was me." He said with nonchalant

confidence beaming in his eyes.

"What?" I asked for a confirmation as his words bored deeper into my chest. Jabbing my throbbing heart. Suddenly an aching pain rocked my head. It made me nauseous. I held onto my head then took cover as everything within my sight got blurry.

"Roxi! Roxi!" I heard him call out to me but his voice grew fainter as my heart banged louder. My fimble legs felt numb. At this point I was unsure which would get me first -- the poison or his confession. As sweat oozed out from every pore of my skin, my legs gave up. Sending me crashing unto the cold concrete floor.

Get out! Now! My toy You can't escape!

He killed her!!

PART-1

"It's time to get up! It's time to get up! It's time to get up..."

"Ugh" I groaned lazily with my pillow over my head as I tried hard to ignore my annoying! Alarm clock.

"It's time to get up! It's Time To GET Up!!" With each passing moment the alarm grew annoyingly louder until... *PLOP!* I knocked it off my bedstand.

"Okay, let's do this." I stretched my body and hopped out of my tiny, yet comfortable bed. After completing my morning routine of dressing my bed and arranging my room, i popped some pills in my mouth before heading for the bathroom.

'Don't forget what day today is. We can't be late.'

Janet reminded me over again in my head. As I undressed and turned on the shower. I waited patiently for the water to run out of the shower head.

'The busted pipe is always leaking somewhere.'

No matter how much I reminded my landlord he always brushed it off, leaving me with at least ten minutes of waiting every morning.

"Finally!" I exclaimed as droplets started to wet my pale face. 'It's freaking cold'.

I ran out of the bathroom after twenty minutes. Without haste, i rushed into my simple kitchen and frantically started preparing breakfast. The knots in my stomach grew as my eyes went back and forth between the clock on the wall and the fork in my hand.

'It's nine thirty. We're late, we're late'. Janet yelled in my head

I gulped hard and nearly choked on the piece of burnt pancake left on my plate.

"Forget this!" I quickly stood up, grabbed my bag from the coffee table, then stuffed the remaining pancake in it. I zoomed to the front door whilst trying to get my hair situation under control.

'Forget the tangles we need to go!'

"Right." I threw my hairbrush across the living room right before locking my front door. I rushed down the stairs until I made my way to the streets. I waved my hands haphazardly until I was able to flag down an oncoming taxi.

"St. Rita's Children's hospital, Rooklin' way." I instructed the driver and without haste he zoomed off.

'Do you think we'll make it in time?'

"I hope so." I answered while staring at my antique wristwatch.

"Are you okay miss?" The driver asked as he studied me through the rear view mirror.

"Yea I am, why?" I responded with an erratic tone as my heart raced nonstop.

"Well, i don't know if you've noticed, but... You're wearing a bathrobe and there's flour all over your face and dough on your hair." He whispered, as if scared of letting the world hear him. I could sense concern and embarrassment from the way he stared at me. Scary but comforting.

"Oh..."

'Shit'.

"Miss Roxanne Jonas?"

"Here!" I made my way to the hospital reception. Ignoring the stares and side comments that followed my every step.

"You're late Miss Roxanne." The nurse announced as she rolled her eyes. "Dr. Timothy already left, we'll have to reschedule your appointment."

"No! Please I'm sorry I'm late, please just hook me up with another doctor." I begged as an irritating itch trickled down my arm.

"I'm sorry, but we'll have to reschedule. Come again next week." The nurse brushed off my plea, then simply stated before ignoring my presence to resume her filing.

'This is my fault i should have woken you up earlier.'

"It's okay." I replied as the itching became unbearable. I walked down the hospital lobby, then took a left turn to the wash room. Inside, tears couldn't help but well up in my eyes as I stared at the mess standing Infront of the mirror. I looked miserable. I sobbed, slowly crouching on the floor. The rash on my left arm had spread and turned my arm into somewhat of an eyesore. Everything hurt.

"Roxi! Are you in there?" Someone knocked on the door. It took some time, but eventually I smiled through the tears as i recognized that familiar British accent.

"Oim in heere." I giggled lightly at my attempt to imitate the accent i heard.

"Roxi, oopen the door," She laughed.

*CLICK*

"Oh I'm so glad you're okay." Nurse Annie held me in an embrace the moment I opened the door. "Are you okay, love?"She held my face and examined me closely.

"I'm fine." I croaked.

"Good, here."She stretched out to hand me some clothing. "Honestly I don't know what's wrong with you these days. How could you come out looking like this? A colleague of mine told me she had seen you walk into the hospital looking like you just escaped from wonderland. Honestly you..." She paused. "Anyway these will fit you... Hopefully." She bit her lip in concern as she stared helplessly at me.

"Than-."

"What's that!" Annie panicked, her eyes immediately traveling along my left arm.

"It's nothing." I defended. Quickly rolling down my bathrobe in an attempt to hide it.

"Are you reacting to the new drugs? When did it start? Why didn't you tell me?!"

"I didn't want to bother you."

"Bother me? This is you're life we're talking about Roxi! Please, take it seriously for once!" She yelled. Tears glistening in her eyes.

'Why does she care about you so much? No one loves you. Noone ever has... No One ever will. I'm all you need. I'll never abandon you!'

Janet ranted on in my head.

"Get dressed, I'll fix an appointment for you with Dr. Gabriel, he just arrived."

"But-".

"No buts gosh damnit! Listen to me for once!" She paused then took in a sharp breath. "I'll be back in the next five minutes, be done by then." She closed the door behind her.

'F**k off'. Janet yelled.

"Janet stop screaming, you're gonna give me a headache." I held my head. Janet was too quick to get jealous. But she had a point, Annie had no reason to care for me or even give me any attention. Ever since my last visit to the psych ward, she had been shadowing me, giving me unrequited love.

'Who does she think she is? No one could ever care for you the way i do. She just wants to use you. They all do!'

"Janet Annie isn't like the others, she understands." I replied in a monotone. "See doesn't this look good on me." I tried to change the topic. The floral dress Annie got me was really pretty. It was in a colour that reminded me of the ocean. The dress stopped right above my knees, and had sleeves that covered up my rash.

'Well i admit. It does match your eyes...'

"Right?" I beamed. It took a while but I was finally able to get all the dough off my hair. After that I tied it up into a neat bun. I splashed some water on my face, dabbed it off with a handkerchief, then I was good to go.

"Wow! Look at you." Annie exclaimed, peering her head through the slightly opened door. "It's comfortable innit?" She did a little dance before dragging me into her embrace once more.

'Ugh'

"You look so beautiful. Now let's go, Doctor Gabriel is waiting." Annie dragged me along behind her as we made our way to the third floor. She looked so contented, i couldn't help but smile. But then, something felt off.

"Janet are you ok? You're awfully quiet." I whispered, hoping Annie wouldn't hear me. She always got anxious anything she saw me speaking to Janet. Though it wasn't like Janet to be so mute for this long, i wondered what she could be up to in my head. "Janet?" I whispered once more.

'Tch! I hate her.'
