Chapter one

I sit on the cold but comforting ground, my back leaning against the tree behind me as I investigate the painting in my possession. If their was anything that I loved to do was painting, it always made me happy in such sad and hard times we are in.

As I sit their forgetting the world around me, I am suddenly startled when I hear the voice of my brother as he calls my name. "Fern there you are, you scared me, I thought I lost you " he says, walking to my direction with long strides towards me.

"Come, the pack meeting will soon be held so I came to get you before dad notices we are out of the cave." My brother Alex says as he holds his big callous hand out for me.

Alex was always over protective and caring towards me and my sister Emily,

Emily and Alex were twins fours years older than me, I was the youngest so they were both protective and caring towards me.

Alex holds my small cold hands in his firmly as we enter the hidden world in the snow mountains.

The cave was dark since we were still at it's beginning, as we finally reached, Alex unwraps his firm hold from my cold hands, walking towards the hall, this mountain cave was like a small village but only missing the warmth of the sun and light of the moon.

"There is nothing we can do but stay hidden in this mountain," my father says to alpha Adrian as the meeting is being held, ever since the invasion when the supernatural fought along side each other with also joining humans and then loosing the battle easily by the unknown invaders, many were killed some taken as slaves, survivors now hide in this cave with a magic spell cost by the witches and elves.

I sat besides my sister, my brother in front of me as my mother at father's left with other werewolves, vampires and other supernatural beings in the huge hall it was nothing but stony down here void any decorations and personality, now even a humans that had discovered us stayed among us, as I sit there, I see many different faces as usual you can never remember everybody, the are three packs in the room with other supernatural beings that joined us ever since earth invasion, we have no idea who, where, what the unknown invaders want, since they do nothing but destroy.

"But I think we should continue our training as the humans build weapons that can be used to fight them, we should do this before they discover us" alpha Ramon reply fear plastered on his face as he looks at every body in the room, who just stare down at their suddenly interesting feet, all hope gone, they no longer have power over earth but slaves in it.

I enter in my bed, in the room which me and my older sister Emily shared ever since the invasion, it was that nice just as stone as the rest of the cave.

I can hardly remember that day, I was only four when the aliens invaded earth, so I barely remember anything about the world outside this mountain or the earth before the came.

"Baby Fern, are you okay? Oh come here " My mother says as she sits on my bed pulling in to a hug, I bury my face in to her chest, as she brushes her cold hands gently on my short hair, my mother Emma was a vampire as my father Zac was an Alpha of the Crestwood pack before the invasion, so as their children Alex, me and Emily were hybrids but it made no big deal we were still weaker to our invaders.

My mother always told me of stories of how the earth was, she said supernatural always stayed hidden from the humans, as they were mystical creatures of the earth with great powers, she said that before the unknown invaders came, their were wars between werewolves and vampires, they were immortal enemies but now they fight and stay together even though only few are still alive.

"Mom are we going to be okay?" I asked as I lay on her chest, she immediately stops brushing her cold hands in my hair before pulling me up with her then she holds my face with both her hands looking in my eyes, "everything is gone be okay, daddy and mommy won't ever let anything happen to you, Alex and your sister" she replies looking closely at me as her cold thumb gently brushing my wet cheeks, I knew she was lying to me, nothing was ever going to be okay, I have heard as people in the cave say that earth beyond this cave had been damaged some of the people either died of hunger or were killed, some of them even taken as slaves, the only thing that is protecting us is this magical mountain which might so soon be discovered.

I watch my mother as she tucks me in giving me a kiss on my forehead after that she then walks to my sister and does the same.

"Good night girls" she says before blowing off the torch and closing the door behind her, the room is now so dark and quiet I feel so scared and panicked as I hold princess rainbow tightly.

I jump out my bed and run to my sister's bed immediately she hugs me then covering me with the warm blanket, I move closer to her hiding my face in her in neck, " I am so scared" I say, starting to sob, Emily starts to brush her hands on my back as she as smitten me, I hold her tighter as sleep slowly takes me.

"Fern, Fern, wake up" I immediately hear my sister's panicked voice as soon as I open my eyes, she pulls me out the of the bed as she runs out with me holding princess rainbow.

Immediately we are out of the room, I take in my surrounding, it is filled with horror I have never seen or heard before, I can only hear screams as my sister pulls me with her to our parents.

"Alex take your sisters out of the cave!" I hear mother as she screams.

We start running out of the cave, as all is destroyed dead bodies laying every where on our way.

As soon as we out the cave, an explosion takes place behind us sending us flying.

With my blurry vision, I look up at the sky and then see a big round thing flying in the air towards us and that's when everything went dark.
