Chapter 13 Thinking too much (Rewrited)

After dealing with Petelgeuse Romanee-Conti, Arthur headed to the village to check on the situation.

When he arrived at the village, he immediately gathered the villagers. 

He found that there were many injured people. 

They were attacked by the witch cult while they were foraging outside the village.

Fortunately, no one died in this attack. If someone had died, Arthur might have felt guilty. 

Although he didn't care about killing evil people, he still cared for the innocent.

And that gave him some peace of mind, he was still human.

"I will tell Roswaal about this. He will handle everything later."

Arthur then went to check on Steve and Peter. 

He found that they were the ones who had dealt with the witch cult around the forest.

They were the reason why the villagers were still alive. If they hadn't saved them, many people would have died.

"Follow me this way. I have a house here. You two can stay there."

Peter was glad that he could finally get some rest, while Steve just nodded and thanked Arthur. He didn't even ask how Arthur got the house.

He believed that Arthur was not a bad person from Tony's mouth. He must have gotten this house honestly. 

After returning home, Arthur asked the two if they had completed their mission. They both replied in unison that they had.

It was impossible for the mission not to be completed after he dealt with the big boss.

"I'll tell you how to get out of the dungeon. After completing the mission, you'll get dungeon points. These points can be used to enter and exit the dungeon and take the dungeon's people out to the outside world."

Arthur told the two to look at their parameters. 

The two tried to leave the dungeon and found that they only had enough points to return and come here once.

"Why are the points we get so low?"

Steve didn't understand the system of the dungeon, but Peter, who was both a hero and a gamer, understood the mechanics of the system well.

He explained it to Steve, who didn't understand anything about how systems like this work.

"The missions we got aren't that difficult. There must be other missions that give us more points. The problem is that we don't know anything about the missions and we might have to guess."

Peter then looked at Arthur. He knew that Arthur must know more than he did. 

Arthur had been here a week before them.

And Arthur was smart, maybe smarter than he was, in many ways that weren't academic.

"The missions you receive are actually quite easy to guess, as long as you have information about this dungeon. To find out more, just ask people in the village or go to a big city with a bar. There you can find good information about the dungeon. It's not difficult to finish the mission judging from your level of power. However, I don't know how to get new missions."

Arthur had completed his mission but had yet to receive a new one. Maybe he should wait for the next plot.

'If I remember correctly, the white whale should appear soon. I don't understand why it's showing up, but I know it's related to the Archbishop of Gluttony.'

Arthur was not sure if he could fight the white whale head on because it could spray a mist that can erase everything, even the memories of those it had erased.

「Hmm, you're thinking something stupid. If it's spraying mist, just disperse it with Dragon Magic, then use your ultimate power to defeat it. Why are you thinking so much, Partner?」

Great Red didn't understand why he would bother with a mist that could erase everything. 

The Bael family's power was stronger than that.

And even stronger powers couldn't do anything to her scale, not to mention the mist that the white whale sprayed.

Arthur felt like a fool for thinking too much.

「That's right, you shouldn't think too much. You have our power flowing through you. That little power alone can't erase you from reality. Dragons, after all, have a very high ability to resist magic, even as baby dragons.」

Great Red added.

Arthur nodded in understanding. He then looked at Peter and Steve.

"Should we head back now? I think we've been here too long. Especially you, Arthur. Pepper and Morgan are waiting outside for you, you know?"

Peter looked at Arthur. He couldn't help but think about what Arthur would be in for after Pepper found out he had jumped into the suspicious portal all by himself.

He will definitely be severely punished by his adoptive mother.

And Peter wanted it that way, accusing him of ignoring their friendship.

"I still have a few things to do before I leave. You two go back first and tell Pepper that I'm fine."

Arthur broke out in a cold sweat. He had forgotten about this. 

He had been an orphan for so long and had only had a family for a few months. He still hadn't adjusted.

Steve and Peter looked at each other. They both thought there was nothing else they could do here, and thought it would be a good idea to gather and discuss things with the others before going into the dungeon again.

They also have outside work to take care of, so they weren't as free as Arthur.

"Then we'll go first and please stay out of trouble, and go home as soon as possible."

Steve was the first to try to use the points to get back outside, and Peter followed close behind. 

Both believed that Arthur would be safe because the danger level here was not very high.

When Arthur saw the two of them had left, he headed towards the capital again. He wanted to test something.

And if what he thought was true, he might get a new mission right away.

And it was just as Arthur thought. He really did get a new mission. 

The requirements for the new mission was that he needed to know where to get the new mission from.

He was speaking with Crusch and she invited him to hunt the white whale with her.

「Mission: Kill the white whale」

「Reward: parameters rank up, 10dp,???」

'This means that without any prior knowledge of the dungeon plot, there's no way that the other dungeon climber can get the main mission.'

Arthur understood the dungeon system better. 

There were main and sub missions.

All the missions he got were main missions that would affect the storyline. 

The others only got general missions that didn't affect the storyline much because they didn't know about it.

The reason he could distinguish which missions were main and which were sub was because he looked at the rewards.

Main missions that directly affect the storyline would have much higher rewards, and there would also be special rewards for those who complete them.

"This is like I have the advantage all the time. No one in this universe knows about the plot of Re:Zero because it doesn't exist."

Arthur felt better knowing that he still had an advantage over others. 

He couldn't imagine what it would be like for those who were already super strong and had the same missions and rewards as him.

The chances of surviving and living comfortably in the Marvel world may be greatly diminished.

"We will go hunting for the white whale in three days from now according to the information I received. Gather at the city gate at that time."

Crusch was glad to have him join her in hunting the white whale. 

Wilhelm told her that he was stronger than all the knights combined, and that even he himself might not be his opponent.

Receiving such a compliment from Wilhelm was impossible. This showed that Arthur was the real deal.

Emilia and Rem were also with him, and they were shocked when they heard that he wanted to join Crusch in hunting the white whale.

"Arthur, it's very dangerous to hunt the white whale. Do you know how strong it is? It's so strong that it can destroy an entire country."

Emilia didn't want him to join Crusch in hunting the white whale because she's afraid he'll get hurt or even die.

Rem nodded and spoke up.

"Rem understands that Master is strong, but the white whale is an extremely dangerous disaster. Master might get hurt…"

Arthur smiled at the two of them. It felt really good to have two cute girls caring about him like this.

"Don't worry, that white whale can't hurt me. In fact, even if I say it, you two might not believe me. Why don't I just  show you some of my powers."

Arthur thought there was no need to hide his power from Emilia and Rem. 

Crusch herself wanted to know how powerful he was as well.

If she knew how capable he was, she could have planned ahead.

Arthur, along with Emilia, Rem, Crusch and Wilhelm, exit the mansion and head towards the training grounds.

This place should be enough for Arthur to show off his power.

"Would you like me to be your sparring partner, young master?"

Wilhelm offered to help. 

He wanted to know how strong Arthur was too. 

Arthur checked his parameters and found that he was quite strong.

His level was 3 and his parameters lean towards Pow, AGI, and Dex, as expected of a former Saint Sword.

"Please take care of me."

Wilhelm nodded and drew his sword from its sheath, ready to fight seriously.

Crusch, Emilia, and Rem looked at the two, each with a different expression. 

Crusch had an excited expression, Emilia had a worried expression, while Rem had a slightly pinkish expression because she thought her Master looked really good.

Wilhelm was the first to attack. 

He thought he had attacked Arthur quickly, but Arthur had seen his movements clearly.

He was able to block and parry Wilhelm's attacks with his nails. 

Arthur's nails were harder than iron. There was a metallic sound and a light from the clash of the sword and nails.

"This is amazing. No one has ever fought Wilhelm so easily before."

Crusch was very sure that Arthur would be of great help to her in hunting the white whale.

She must prove to everyone that without a contract with the dragon, the kingdom can still be strong.

She didn't know that she was currently making a contract with a new dragon. 

If she knew, no one would know what kind of expression she would show.

Wilhelm fought with Arthur for hours until he was too tired to fight anymore. 

He took a deep breath before speaking to Arthur.

"I have lost."

Wilhelm was sure that his skill was superior to Arthur's, but how could his skill be able to compare to his absolute superior power?

Every trick and technique he used against him had been seen through because even though his movements were very fast to the eyes of ordinary people, they were very slow to Arthur.

"Thank you for being my sparring partner. I have learned many tricks and techniques." 

Arthur thanked him sincerely. There were times during the fight where he knew that if his stats weren't higher than Wilhelm's, he would have lost.

Therefore, this fight was not considered his win but rather a draw.

He memorized all the tricks and techniques that Wilhelm used to further develop himself in the future.

"The physical combat demonstration is over. Now, I will show you my magic."

Arthur began to show everyone his dragon magic, and it was so powerful that he couldn't aim it anywhere except in the sky.

Crusch was stunned. She didn't think he could use magic as powerful as the magic cannon she had prepared to deal with the white whale.

Magic cannons were very destructive, but they were difficult to carry around and were also difficult to prepare before firing.

Arthur, on the other hand, could release devastating attacks immediately. 

He would become the most powerful weapon to deal with the white whale.

"And about the mist, I can do this for everyone."

Arthur raised his hand in front of him before casting a spell. 

This time, the magic he learned from Great Red was more suitable than the magic he learned from Ophis.

"Dragonic Greater Protection."

Crusch Emilia and Rem were covered by some kind of protection shield. 

The three of them realized that this protection shield was extremely durable.

Crusch tested it by telling Wilhelm to attack her and he did as she asked him to. 

He couldn't leave a scratch on the protection shield at all even with his strongest attack.

Arthur used both Ophis power and Great Red power with this spell. 

It boosted the shield and divided the attack coming in contact with it.

"This protection shield will protect everyone from the mist that the white whale would spew out. The existence of those who come into contact with the mist will not be erased. This way, hunting white whales will be more convenient and safer."

Arthur had solved a big problem for Crusch. 

If the shield he created can really protect everyone from the mist, dealing with the white whale will be much easier.

After Arthur had finished showing off his magic, 

Crusch did something Emilia and Rem didn't expect.

She stood before him with a dignified air before speaking to him with a wide smile.

"Be mine, marry me!"

"No!/Never!"

Both Emilia and Rem jumped in front of Arthur before trying to separate the two. 

The two accidentally let out their jealousy for all to see.

Crusch laughed with delight. It wasn't easy to pull Arthur to her side, even if she was ready to give herself to him.

He was like a treasure guarded by two guardians. It was a challenge that made her want to make him her own even more.

Crusch walked away from Arthur and the two before speaking.

"I won't snatch him from you two for now, but don't let your guard down. I might snatch him from you two at any moment."

Then Crusch told Arthur that they would meet in three days. 

She had placed great hopes on him to hunt the white whale.

"Let's go back to our accommodation. We still have three days left before we have to go hunting for the white whale."

Arthur would take Emilia and Rem with him, believing that it would be safest for them to stay close to him.

Three days was not a long time. It ended so fast.

Arthur was now waiting for Crusch and her army.

Emilia and Rem grew closer to him as they spent time with him in the capital. 

No one dared to mess with or look down on them even a little bit.

Why is that? Because they would regret it for the rest of their lives for messing with his people. 

The dragon power within him was getting stronger and stronger.

"The time has finally come for us to hunt that monster. Get ready, we're going to hunt it! And kill it at all costs!"

Crusch rallied her troops and introduced Arthur to everyone. 

She told everyone that with Arthur around, they won't have to fear the White Whale's mist at all.

And just as she was introducing Arthur to everyone, something suddenly appeared heading towards her army from the sky.

Everyone was surprised and wanted to attack the thing that was flying towards everyone. 

They attacked, but the attack was ineffective. 

It was because whatever was flying towards everyone right now had a strong energy barrier covering it.

Arthur wanted to attack as well, but when he used the Dragon's Eye and saw who or what was heading in his direction, he immediately told everyone to stop attacking.

"Stop attacking, that is not enemies, He is our allies."
