The Asgardian fighters of the Hella Legion felt as if their bodies had become countless times lighter, and the equipment they carried felt as light as a feather.
Rhodes shouted, "Everyone, head straight to Helag."
What would have taken two days of travel was accomplished in just half a day as the Asgardian warriors rushed to a location thousands of miles away from the city of Hailag under the effects of the Halo of Rapidity.
Rhodes and Hela gazed at the city in the distance. It resembled more of a sheepfold encircled by a massive ring of giant rocks.
The city gates and walls stood at a modest 20 to 30 meters in height, quite unimpressive compared to Asgard's majestic and towering city walls. They were essentially a circle of large stones, albeit built from the hard volcanic rock of Muspeldamm.
Flame giants, while not known for their architectural prowess, had constructed most of their dwellings from stone. Despite their crude appearance, these structures offered some degree of defense due to being made from Muspeldamm's volcanic rock.
Hela turned to Rhodes with a question, "How should we proceed with the attack? A frontal assault?"
Over time, Hela had grown to trust Rhodes more and even relied on his leadership. Most decisions were influenced by Rhodes' strategic thinking.
Rhodes possessed both strength and strategic acumen, making him capable of solving almost any challenge he commanded.
Rhodes laid out the plan, "Let the team rest, enjoy good food and fresh water. Later, we'll launch a frontal assault. When the time comes, the two of us will create an opening, and our soldiers will rush in for close combat."
Hela approved, "Agreed."
At this point, subtlety and strategy were less important. With their arrival known, a direct confrontation seemed inevitable. The Hella Legion paused momentarily before launching a powerful attack.
The soldiers of the Hella Legion fanned out, tens of thousands of Asgardian soldiers charging forward with loud battle cries.
Facing this unexpected assault, the flame giants within Helag City swarmed in a disarray, sounding the alarm only after a considerable delay.
"Charge!"
Flame giants atop the tall stone walls hurled bone spears at the incoming Asgardian warriors with overwhelming force.
The sharp bone spears, driven by the flame giants' tremendous strength, raced toward the Asgardian warriors.
Asgardian warriors raised their Asgardian cloaks to resist, but a few still fell victim to bone spears and thrown stones by the flame giants.
Asgardian warriors retaliated immediately, raising their laser spears and firing back. Bone spears, stones, and lasers filled the air, with flame giants on the city wall shattering like volcanic rock fragments.
Rhodes and Hela led the way, rapidly approaching Helag City's walls.
Their approach drew the attention of the flame giants, making Rhodes and Hela prime targets.
Hela summoned countless black spears using her dark magic, sending them flying toward the city wall.
The sky was filled with dead flame giants, impaled by black spears.
Facing catapults and bone spears launched at Hela, Rhodes used his thermal vision to disintegrate the projectiles into fragments.
Hela turned her gaze to Rhodes, who nodded and continued his rapid advance.
Rhodes took a deep breath, channeling the power of the sun within him. His right arm radiated with dazzling light.
"Roar..."
With a mighty shout, Rhodes unleashed a massive beam of light, creating a hole measuring 20 to 30 meters in diameter in Helag City's formidable walls.
Rhodes' powerful strike reduced the city walls and flame giants in its path to dust.
Rhodes' punch left those on both sides momentarily dumbfounded.
The flame giants stared wide-eyed, their fiery eyes filled with astonishment. Meanwhile, Asgardian warriors were equally stunned by the massive breach created by Rhodes.
Amidst this grand and dramatic scene, both sides momentarily forgot to attack as they marveled at the colossal hole blasted by Rhodes.
Rhodes, however, wasn't finished. He blasted several more holes in succession.
Then he bellowed, "The Hall of Valor, charge with me and vanquish them all."
Hela finally snapped out of her reverie and shouted, "The Hall of Valor, follow me! Let these insignificant flame giants witness the might of our Hall of Valor."
Rhodes led the charge into Helag City alongside the Hall of Valor's soldiers.
Helag's defenses proved to be nothing more than a mere facade. Under Rhodes' fearless leadership, the Asgardian warriors charged in with renewed vigor.
With little effort, over 10,000 Asgardian warriors surged into Helag City's interior, engaging the flame giants in close combat.
Despite the flame giants' overwhelming physical advantage, Asgard's technological weaponry proved formidable. Even when a flame giant swung a three-meter-long bone knife, Asgardian warriors raised their Asgardian cloaks to create energy barriers that withstood the attack.
Though some Asgardian warriors were sent flying by the sheer force of the blow, they were not gravely injured. In response, they raised their spears and fired lasers, turning the flame giants into rubble.
Rhodes led 2,000 elite heroic warriors into the fray, every strike of his guardian spear reducing a flame giant to fragments.
Hela joined the battle, using her dark magic to summon a barrage of black spears that pierced the chests of flame giants, turning them into lifeless stones.
For hours, the battle raged on, but eventually, Helag City fell silent. The only sounds that remained were the crackling flames and the panting of Asgardian warriors amidst the empty city.
Rhodes approached Hela, who appeared fatigued.
Hela leaned against a massive stone, catching her breath. Her majestic death cloak was slightly disheveled, but her eyes gleamed with victory.
A resounding triumph.
Under Rhodes' guidance and assistance, the Asgardian warriors had suffered minimal losses.
In this battle, more than 18,000 flame giants met their end, while the Hall of Valor's soldiers also experienced significant casualties, totaling less than a hundred—a testament to Rhodes' rigorous training.
Rhodes extended his hand to help Hela up, gently placing his hand on her slender waist. Hela, no longer bashful, accepted Rhodes' aid willingly.
Rhodes spoke up, "Remember the fireworks I mentioned? Now's the perfect time."
With one hand, Rhodes released a cascade of sunlight, healing the wounded soldiers.
As Rhodes orchestrated the rainfall of sunlight, he also accumulated energy for a spectacular display in the sky.
To ensure the widest coverage over Helag City, healing all the wounded Asgardian warriors, and creating an awe-inspiring fireworks show, Rhodes put forth his utmost effort.
Above Helag City, magnificent fireworks in gold and various other colors burst forth, descending to the ground in mesmerizing patterns.
After the pyrotechnics, a gentle rain of sunlight bathed every Asgardian warrior.
The severely injured warriors regrew lost limbs, while those in pain slowly rose to their feet.
While these warriors fought for Asgard and lived within its realm, they had never witnessed such a spectacle as fireworks.
Pain forgotten, they gazed up at the sky.
Following the intense battle, the golden rain reinvigorated them. These Asgardian warriors felt invincible, believing that no challenge was insurmountable.
"Long live Asgard! Long live Lord Rhodes!"
Weapons raised, they chanted the names of their faith—Asgard and Rhodes.
Bell and the heroic warriors joined in the jubilation.
Rhodes looked at Hela by his side.
Hela, lost in the spectacle above, witnessed the romantic fireworks that Rhodes had orchestrated for her.
Unable to contain herself, Hela clasped her hands together, quietly making a wish or perhaps offering a prayer.
After a moment, her face lit up with a joyous smile.
