Chapter 1

[1st POV]

"Ding"

[Welcome to the Gamer 5.4.5 System! Congratulations! You have died, and your personal memories have been erased. You are being given a unique opportunity to be reborn in a new world and a new body.]

"Ding!"

[This is your first rebirth, so the body for rebirth will be chosen randomly.]

[Please choose your rebirth option: rebirth as an infant or inhabitation of an adult body.]

[The option "inhabitation of an adult body" has been selected.]

[Confirm your choice?]

[Yes/No Choice confirmed.]

"Ding"

[The option "inhabitation of an adult body" has been selected. ]

[In the chosen world, an adult body will be created and integrated into the world's history with its own biography and background.]

"Ding!"

[You are not occupying someone else's body, nor are you absorbing, replacing, or expelling someone else's soul. The body is created specifically for you and begins to exist from the moment your soul inhabits it. Your conscience is clear, and this body is yours alone. It belongs to no one else.]

"Ding!"

[Please choose the level of pain sensitivity: 0-100%

"Ding!"

[The level of pain sensitivity affects the level of all bodily sensations except vision and hearing.]

"Ding!"

[A pain sensitivity level below 70% imposes a penalty on experience gain and character growth rate.]

"Ding"

[The option "110%" has been selected. ]

[A pain level above 100% is dangerous for your mental health.]

[Your choice is confirmed. ]

"Ding!"

[The option "pain level 110%" has been selected - experience gain and character growth rate is increased by 25%.]

[Enjoy your rebirth!]

I straightened up, slowly running my hands down my cheeks, and looked at my reflection in the mirror above the sink.

A man looked back at me. His face looked much like that of well-known comedic star Jack Black, but he seemed to have gained around thirty to forty kilograms and looked much younger.

This excess weight was definitely an issue.

I sighed heavily and lifted my belly with my hands, looking at it thoughtfully and disapprovingly from above.

A big fat belly was sticking out over my boxer's waistband.

I'm a hundred and five kilograms of weight at a height of one hundred and seventy centimeters...

I'm twenty-one, single, living alone... I own a four-story building in one of New York's less prestigious neighborhoods and live off the rental income from the apartments in that building.

How did that happen?

I think I inherited it quite recently.

In fact, I got it from an uncle who suddenly passed away in a car accident in the same car as my parents.

I'm basically an orphan.

I finished washing my face, brushed my teeth, started drying my face with a towel, and turned toward the bathroom exit.

Then I slipped on the tile with my slipper and slammed my forehead into the door frame so hard that "stars" shot from my eyes, my breath was taken away by the blinding pain, my knees shook and gave way… and then a message appeared.

"Ding!"

[You have taken five points of damage.]

I read the message and froze in shock.

The surprise was so great that I even forgot about the pain.

Meanwhile, the message shifted to the bottom left corner of my field of vision and dimmed slightly, but it didn't disappear.

I focused my attention on finding anything strange or unusual in this "message," and I found it.

A bunch of different-colored bars in the upper left corner.

I saw a small round picture of myself that had just stopped flashing and had a red outline around it.

Then I saw my name above the bars: [Thomas Blank. Level 5.]

"Status!"

I mentally commanded myself, still sitting on the tiled floor of my bathroom.

[Name: Thomas Blank]

[Race: Human.]

[Character Class: Jolly Fat Man.]

[Level: 5 (500/1000)]

[Health: 495/500 (recovery 0.5 per minute).]

[Explosive Energy: 300/300 (recovery 30 per minute).]

[Potential Energy: 3000/3000 (recovery 3 per minute).]

[Strength: 5]

[Agility: 4]

[Endurance: 3]

[Vitality: 5]

[Intelligence: 5]

[Wisdom: 1]

[Attribute Points – 25]

"Traits: Player's Body, Player's Mind."

[Skills:]

[Poison Resistance: 5]

[Pain Level 110%]

[+25% to experience gain and attribute growth rate.]

There's not much to go on.

What if I try this?

I focused my attention on the word "Human" and once again mentally issued the command:

"Info!"

[Human: the dominant race on the planet but does not possess racial bonuses, penalties, or restrictions.]

I focused on "Character Class: Jolly Fat Man" and commanded.

"Info!"

[Jolly Fat Man – a character class characterized by physical heaviness and a large appetite. The unique feature of this class is the ability to accelerate health and energy recovery by consuming food and poison resistance."

That's how it is.

It turns out I'm not just a fat guy—it's actually my character class.

Interesting.

I wonder if it's possible to change it?

I tried using "Info" on each word in the line individually but couldn't get any answers.

In other words, this wasn't a dream, and I don't feel any regret for the dead "parents" because, in reality, I didn't have any parents in this world.

Mr. and Mrs. Blank are just a line in this body's biography, integrated into the history of the surrounding reality.

It's sad... and comforting at the same time since it means I'm not entirely a moral degenerate.

Well, whatever.

I'm a Player.

I have attributes.

That means I need to level them up!

I have to get used to it.
